Despite lacking visible ears- like a lot of creatures, actually- he heard it too. "Yeah- it sounds like someone who's part canine is crying." He wasn't laughing- he was completely serious about that. After all, he's from a world of exotic creatures- he knows what's possible and impossible with the world's happenings.
Using his finger to make the famous "Come on" action, he rushed toward where he heard the crying- and found the source. "...Great Glaciura..."

"What do I do? What do I do?" she moaned softly to herself. Her head hung low, and she failed to notice the other two in her bout of self pity. "I don't know how to get back to Skaia at all anymore, and my friends still need me. Sniff... I guess I'll just end up letting them down. Again. Boo hoo hoo... Woof."

Sweetie followed Ty closely, peeking around him at the strange dog-ghost-thingy. She glanced at Ty, confused by the phrase he said, and slowly walked over.
She sat down next to the dog-like stranger, concerned. She had no idea what to make of her words, but she seemed to be in the same situation as they are.
"...hello there..."

From the knowledge of his world, she seemed to be a spirit type- a ghostly, yet living creature- but her body was too strange to really fit any categories he knew about. "...is there something wrong?" he asked, reaching to touch her.

Scanty silently cursed her short-sightedness as she walked to the streets. Although she had made a plan to meet with the mayor of this city and apply for a position in his office, she had failed to ask where City Hall actually was. She resolved to walk the steeets until she found it or was pointed in the right direction.
Eventually, as she walked, she happened across a small group. She turned toward the group and opened her mouth to speak. As she approached, however, she realized that one, some sort of spirit werewolf girl or something along those lines, was sobbing and moaning, obviously hysterical, and the others, what seemed to be a unicorn and some sort of animate stuffed doll, where clearly just children. Scanty doubted they'd know where City Hall was.
In an attempt to save face, Scanty quietly walked past the group, trying to make it seem like she was merely walking past them all, without wanting to ask anything and attract attention.

Hearing two voices speak up, Jadesprite rubbed her eyes and looked around for whomever addressed her. She then saw an adorable little white unicorn with a purple and pink mane accompanied by an odd white creature with a red scarf and a stubby tail. Consorts, perhaps? They didn't look like what John, Dave, or Rose's looked like, but then again she never really got the chance to see her own...
"Sniff... Hmm? Oh, sorry..." she said softly. Her hands were twiddling awkwardly. "I'm just really lost. My friends are just in a really bad situation, and I don't know how to get back to them. And I already failed them once after that horrible monster came to Prospit and..."
At this, she got choked up and couldn't say anymore. She then emitted a canine-like whimper and a supposedly involuntary woof.

Sweetie thought for a moment, worried she'd say something wrong. She had to admit that she messes up often. After a few moments, she turns to Ty, at a loss for words.
"Ty, what should we do?"
That's when she noticed the strange lady passing by. After politely excusing herself, she rushes over, hopeful.
"Excuse me, miss! Do you know a way to get my friend over there back to..." She pauses, trying to remember the name of the place. "...Profit, I think it was called?" She smiles politely, sitting down as she waits for her reply.

He crossed his arms and looked up in thought. "I dunno... hm?" Not long after this, he spotted the demon woman too- and tensed. Easy, Ty. She might look bad, but she can't be as bad as she looks...

Scanty turned around at the source of the voice. It seemed that the little unicorn filly saw fit to engage her. She mentally groaned. Scanty was not very fond of children. Still, she couldn't just walk away, that would be rude, and against the rules to boot. Furthermore, the filly's single horn reminded her of Kneesocks's to a degree, and she could see that she was at least trying to be polite, from the way she sat and smile. Perhaps she'd teach the filly some proper etiquette.
"I'm afraid I don't know of this "Profit" you speak of," Scanty said. "I apologize. However, I feel that I should inform you that that is not how you begin a conversation with someone you do not know. One of the rruurruus of social etiquette is this: you must first greet the one you wish to talk to with your name, so that they may know how to refer to you. For example: I am Miss Scanty Akuma." Scanty gestured to the unicorn to indicate that it was her turn for introductions. As she did so, she saw the other, the one resembling a doll, tense up at the sight of her. He seemed to be trying to read her character. She shot him a subtle glare, hopefully subtle enough for the unicornto miss, one that said "I am not to be trifled with, do not test me, as it may be your last act."

The girl/dog sprite wiped her eyes as the newcomer preached to the unicorn about proper conversation etiquette. "Oh, I-I'm sorry," she said as if she assumed her words were directed at her just as much as Sweetie. "I've been obsessing so much over my own problems that I haven't introduced myself either..."
Clearing her throat awkwardly, she spoke up rather hesitantly, "Uh, well, ummm... I...I'm Jade..." she said. Her glance shifting aside, she added, "Well...not really... Not anymore... I-I used to be Jade whenever she dreamed, but after the monster made Prospit's moon crash into Skaia..." With a tiny gasp, she flew into hysterics again. "Oh, John! You never even got to wake up!!" Despite Jade's assurance to the contrary, her formerly dead dreamself still sadly believed she failed to rescue John's from the falling moon.
In her unrest, Jadesprite flickered an odd bright green every so often. On rare instances, just for a fleeting split second, a bright afterimage could be seen through her. It looked almost like the surface of a sun, except one with an unusual bright green glow...

Sweetie scratched at the ground with her hoof, embarrassed. She wondered for a moment about the look Scanty gave Ty, but decided that it wasn't that big a deal. At least, she hoped it wasn't.
"Nice to meet you, Miss Akuma." She turned to Jadesprite, smiling kindly. "You too, Miss Jade." She bowed politely to them both. "My name is Sweetie Belle, and this," she motioned to Ty, "is my friend Ty. We..." She trailed off as she saw Jadesprite start crying again.
She turned to Scanty, an apologetic smile on her face. "Please excuse me." She rushed over to Jadesprite, concerned. She gently nosed her elbow, sitting down next to her. She wanted to calm her down, but was worried, thinking back to when she tried to do nice things for her big sister. All she could think to do was be there for Jadesprite.

Tapping his foot, he sighed and looked her in the eyes. "And you can call me Ty, miss." She definately wasn't like anything from his world- she seemed... well, demon like, yet seemed more like a strict follower of rules. What could've possibly described something like that?

Scanty looked between all of them for a moment, sizing each of them up. The one that seemed to be confused as to whether she was "Jade" was definitely interestng. Scanty could definitely sense nigh omnipotent power about her, that much was certain. Scanty considered that she might want to keep her around a bit. However, she seemed to be completely hysterical, and something told Scanty that that wasn't about to change soon. She might prove to be more dangerous than valuable at the present time.
Next was this "Ty" character. Hardly a proper name at all, really, just two letters. He seemed to have some strength about him, but he seemed to be strong willed, and from the appraising look he gave her, somewhat wiser than his appearance let on. Keep an eye on this one, he might prove an obstacle.
And then there was the unicorn filly, Sweetie Belle. She seemed to be the most agreeable of the three, as much as Scanty disliked children. She was much more polite and proper than Scanty had expected, perhaps she had relatives that knew what class and sophistication were. She also seemed to have a small amount of magic about her. Perhaps a more mature unicorn would be more powerful? To boot, she seemed to be rather caring and innocent, naive even. Where Ty seemed to have his reservations about Scanty, Sweetie had no trouble walking up to the demon. Perhaps Scanty could exploit this naivety. Besides, she could use a companion (or pet) in this new city.
"It's a pleasure to meet you all," Scanty said, smiling with a false sweetness. "I actually happen to be relatively new to this city, and I was on my way to City Hall to see the Mayor about employment. Of course, I don't seem to know where exactly that is. Miss Sweetie, you seem to have a good sense of direction, perhaps you'd care to accompany me? Your short friend here can stay here with Jade and comfort her. Well, what do you say?"

Jadesprite wasn't really paying any mind to what Scanty was saying. All she really cared about at the moment were the dead friends she missed, the living ones she couldn't help, and the hopeless feeling of being completely lost. All she knew was that wherever she wasn't, it wasn't like any she'd ever seen, either in person or in the clouds. The only pleasant thought that she was allowed was how sweet that little unicorn was sitting next to her. In fact...
"Sniff... Hehe... Aren't you cute?" she said softly and sweetly, drying her eyes. "Are you one of the consorts of the Land of... um..." she paused, trying to recall from her recently acquired if limited sprite knowledge what the planet was called. "...Frost and...Frogs...? Or are you from another land entirely?" she asked curiously. For all she knew, she wandered into another session entirely. Heck, for all she knew, she wandered into another universe all together. But, no. That's a ridiculous notion, and you should feel foolish for considering it.

Sweetie looked at Scanty and at Jadesprite. She was unsure who to answer first. She put a hoof on the side of her head, gently rubbing it while she thought.
She turned to Jadesprite, smiling kindly, though still a little confused. "Thank you, Miss Jade. Though I'm sad to say I've never heard of the Land of Frost and...Frogs?" She wanted to ask about that place, but Jadesprite didn't really seem to know much about it. "I'm from Equestria."
Sweetie then turned and looked at Scanty, then at Ty, thinking for a bit. "I'd be more than happy to help you, Miss Akuma, but...Ty is my friend...I can't just leave him..." She smiled sheepishly at her. "I hope you understand."
