Pixie blinked again, looking at Hitoshura with confusion. Obviously he couldn't mean the demon Seth. Even not paying lots of attention to the constant war, one tended to be aware of the more powerful, and Seth was the sort that would align with anything but a follower of YHVH.
And then Naoki stuttered. Hitoshura. Stuttered. And claimed he couldn't handle a demon?! High Pixie had to work at closing her mouth after her jaw fell open. And then suddenly laughter bubbled out and she clapped both small hands over her mouth, looking embarrassed at the sudden reaction. She didn't seem to be having much luck controlling it, and it was killing all the attempts at speaking she seemed to be trying to make.

She was laughing at him. The first thought that occurred to Naoki at this development was that he should be offended. The second thought was, "Well, at least it wasn't Lucifer." He went back to being offended after that.
"Wh-What's so funny?!" he asked indignantly. "I don't see what's so funny about trying to fight one of YHVH's strongest men, Pixie!"

"I-I'm sorry!" High Pixie managed to choke out while laughing, "I-It's just... Oh my g-gosh!"
Tears were gathering at the corners of her eyes, but she was beginning to be able to draw more reliable breaths. They were shaky still though. She wiped the tears away while her shoulders still shook with one of her hands, shaking her head. She finally took in a deep breath.
"You should have just told me, silly! Although I'm still not sure what the issue is. He's only human, right?"

She was still laughing at him. Naoki was beginning to get the distinct sense that he'd missed the punchline of some very funny joke. Or rather, he was the punchline.
"Told you what?" Naoki asked. "I-I mean. You're right that he's human. Immortal, but still human. But I don't see what that has to do with anything!"

High Pixie clapped both her hands over her mouth. It was via obvious willpower she hadn't started laughing again. She suddenly flew forward and around the back of Naoki's head, putting her elbows on his shoulder and looking over towards him.
"I don't know about this immortal business, but if he's only human then there isn't a problem! Just take what you want, silly! Gosh, and I thought you had this demon stuff down by now!"

"Take what I... want?" he repeated hesitantly. "But I don't even know what I want! I want Abel to stop being a huge sissy, but I don't see how Seth has anything to do with this!"
Naoki was starting to feel irritated now, and he was sure that Pixie was intentionally dodging around the issue. This was stupid!

High Pixie tilted her head at him as if he wa s speaking a foreign language. Really, that look was becoming an every other time he spoke look this conversation. And then her eyes widened and she jumped up and flew around back to the front of his face.
"You're really clueless aren't you?" After a moment's pause she seemed to take as a confirmation she put her hands over her mouth, "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I've gotta remember you used to be human! I just didn't know it would have this kind of effect!"
"Abel is completely besides the point, Nao-chan! We're talking about this Seth person! If you like him that much, just kidnap him! Like you said, he's only human!"

Clueless? Effect?! Kidnap!?! Naoki looked more confused and appalled with every word High Pixie said. So he was having some weird demon emotion he'd never had before, and he should kidnap Seth to satisfy it?! But what kind of emotion would cause--
"A-Are you trying to imply that I like Seth in... that way?!" Naoki blurted. "I can't... I don't... it's nothing like that! He's nothing but Abel's brother to me!"
But you did deliberately seek him out more than once, nagged a voice in the back of his head. Naoki tried to ignore it.

High Pixie's face twisted and she had to bite down on her tongue hard to keep from breaking out into another laughing fit. This wasn't a human teenager being absolutely hilarious and awkward, this was her friend. She needed to show some self-control! She wasn't sure if only snorting out a few chuckles and biting down harder on her tongue to stop it from being worse counted as 'some' self control or not.
"I don't get why you're so worked up about it, Nao-chan! It's really nothing to be embarassed about!" She held up her hands in a placating gesture, "Okay okay, let's just pretend I'm wrong for a minute," she didn't sound for an instance she thought she was, but she definitely seemed to be willing to treat the situation from a hypothetical standpoint.
"You say that this Seth went off to Messiah, right? Either he's still loyal to Abel and playing a very dangerous game or he's gone over to the enemy's side, right? So killing him would accomplish something either way, right? If he is still on Abel's side, for that matter, it sounds like he trusts him more than any of the others you mentioned. He really is the most logical choice!"

Naoki's expression became even more desperate at High Pixie's words, because dammit, she was right. Which was what made this even more frustrating. Either Seth had defected or he was Abel's most loyal servant, and both were entirely valid reasons to just blow him off the face of the planet.
"I'm aware, but... I still... can't just kill him..." Naoki said. "But that doesn't automatically mean that I'm in l-love with him!"
He crossed his arms. "I think you're jumping to conclusions there."

"Nao-chan~" High Pixie said, a wide grin suddenly on her face. She flew up closer so that she could put her hands on top of his nose. Hed have to go a bit crosseyed to look her straight in the eyes, although she didn't have quite the same problem due to angle and size difference, "Iiii never said anything about love."
She stuck her tongue out and pushed herself off, gesticulating with her right hand, "I just said like. Love's quite a less common than lust among demons you know. Soooo, why exactly did you use that word?"

Naoki went rather red at Pixie's comment. Why had he used that word? Maybe he'd just been jumping the gun a bit. She was also on his nose now, which meant he could smell the pixie dust wafting down from her wings, and that he couldn't see her that well. Though she pushed herself off fairly quickly.
"W-Well, you said yourself that I used to be human, and humans use 'love' a fair bit more often," Naoki retorted. "And even if i did like him in that way, it wouldn't work. His king wants my head."

"You're definitely acting like human males do when female demons make advances!" Pixie said, grinning at him. She giggled at him, putting her chin in her hands, "You'd have been jumped half a conversation ago in a usual exchange!"
She made a teasing tsking noise and shook her head, "That's what I'm saying! If you like him, just take him! It's a great way to force Abel into action, isn't it? And then you don't even have to kill him! Two birds, I think the phrase goes?"
It should be noticed that she'd latched right onto Naoki's implication that he believed Seth was still loyal to Abel.

He really wished that Pixie wouldn't remind him of those times. It had always been difficult to try and convince female demons to come with him... he'd never been very good at talking to humans, much less demons.
"I suppose... It would definitely force Abel into action, with his attachment to his brother," Naoki mused. "It's worth a shot."
But it still meant nothing in regards to his feelings. Or so he told himself.

If High Pixie had made more of a show of rolling her eyes, she'd have tipped over backwards in mid-air. This was just plain silly. And he really needed to stop being so adorable! Gosh, he'd definitely never been this bad! After the little show of dramatics though, she gave him a definite nod and flew back into his pocket, looking up and tugging down on his jacket.
"As long as that's settled! Let's go!"
