Full Name: Henry Berk Hallison
Nickname(s): Raven, Omen
Age: 28 (Stopped aging around 26 years)
Height: 6 foot 4
Weight: 209 lbs
Gender: Male
Race: Human (Hinted to have some Bangaa in his ancestry)
Alliance: Antagonist
Home: Ivalice
Franchise: Final Fantasy Tactics A2 OC
Physical Description
Being in direct opposition in Gantz, he is, in many cases, Gantz’s opposite. He is tall, well muscled (Capable of lifting up anything close to his own weight), with an intense stare to match his expression. He has short dusty blonde hair, that is normally kept short and orderly. He has a notable burn mark on his face that almost looks like a strip mask over his eyes which was gained in a previous fight with Gantz, and a notable ‘X’ shape scar on his neck from a loss after that (Other scars tend to heal whenever he escapes hell for unknown reasons). He wears armor that bears a resemblance to the ‘Ark Knight’ enemy Jobclass of Final Fantasy Tactics.
Weapons
Raven tends to carry more then one weapon on his person at all times. Once, he had carried a grand total of 5 skinning knives of various types, 1 Uchigatana (A type of Katana), a Great-sword, A staff, A collection of bomb type items such as Fire Orbs, Ice Orbs and Lightning orbs, and up to 10 X Potions.
Abilities/Powers
Originally, Raven had no special abilities or powers, and got his way through fights with his brawn, tactical genius… However an experience with death and a scion of darkness has given him the ability to use Arcane Magicks, magick that deals damage not only directly but also with various status Alignments. Basically, a magick that classifies as playing dirty. His current skills are listed below;
Arcane Magick
Drain (A spell that can drain away the target’s stamina or HP.)
Berserk (A spell that can send ANYONE flying into a berserk rage on contact.)
Confuse (A spell that can send anyone into a state of dazed and self-harming confusion.)
Gravity (A spell that can be used to press targets paper flat for intense damage. However, the pain of being pressed is brief, lessening the damage.)
Syphon (A Spell that can drain away the targets Magical energy or MP)
Reverse (A spell that causes healing and damage to have opposite effect on one target.)
Ardor (A spell that uses otherworldly flames. Has the power of a Firaja, but is otherworldly.)
Skills
Along with causing Chaos, Raven is a very charismatic person, with tactical genius that is nigh unsurpassed in Ivalice. Many theorize that he once attended a military academy many years ago, so along with this, he is a powerful physical combatant, made only more dangerous by the magical prowess he has. He’s also a strangely good cook. Why will be covered soon.
Personality
You’d think for a villain, Raven would be psychotic, crooked, wicked through and through… However such is not the case. While this man is cold, calculating, and very adaptable, there is no wickedness in his body at all. He truly believes that what he’s doing is for the good of Ivalice. In his eyes, HE’S the hero, and this shows. While he is calculating, he’s also honorable, gentlemanly, and a supporter for all races, showing displeasure at any sort of prejudice against other races in Ivalice, especially Bangaa (He’s even noted to take offense to the word ‘Lizard’, which can be used as a racial slur against Bangaa, since he is half Bangaa himself). When he loses his usually cool temper however, the bangaa side of his blood-line shows, making him vicious, ruthless, merciless and just flat out blood thirsty; a side of Raven you do NOT want to see, especially if the tantrum is YOUR fault.
History
Many years ago before the war that rent the Rozarrian and Archadia countries asunder, a village existed in southwest Archadia in the great Forests of Moore. And in this village, people lived and a small community thrived. Known as a village of Blacksmith’s, the village was a well known supplier of weapons to the Archadian Empire’s army and was patriotic to a fault. It was in this village that a 15 year old Henry Hallisen lived, learning his families craft and entertaining his little brother Blanc. He was born in the village, raised in the village… And at the ripe age of 16, he watched it as it burned to the ground at the hands of a Rozarrian attack force. In this raid, his home was rent from the earth it once existed on, his family burnt to ash, and his little brother killed by the cannon shell of a Rozarrian flying machine.
In outrage of this event, Raven, feeling his patriotism boiling, joined the Military Academy in Archadia City, where he spent many years studying strategy, training his body to peak physical condition, and familiarizing himself with various weapons. From there, he joined the Archadian Empire’s army and spent his time fighting in the war… However it was during the war, that he became aware of the kingdom of Dalmasca, of the events surrounding his commanding officer Gabranth, and, to a VERY lesser extent, some of the details behind Vayne Carudas Solidor. In the midst of the corruption, Raven saw a recurring problem in the kingdom of Archadia’s approach on the crisis with Dalmasca, Rozarria, and indeed a problem with Imperial Senate themselves.
He saw them all as corrupted to the core, defunct systems of government doing their best to stretch out an existence that should have ended many years ago. In his vision, he envisioned a world where there was no ruling power, a system where there was no difference between nobility and the common man which would be enforced strictly, and one man ruling it all, carefully chosen by the people for his wisdom as opposed to being born into a royal family. Before he could come up with a plan to stab Vayne Solidor in the back however, Vayne was killed during a strike on Dalmasca, and a cease fire was called by Larsa Solidor, effectively ending the war between Rozarria and the Archades. As peace conditions were being decided, Raven disappeared from the ranks of the Archades army, and would remain missing for a few years.
He would not be seen again until a terrorist attack was indiscriminately cast against the Genevieve Clan in the Lutia Pass (Located in a region in Rozarria), leading Clan Red-Wings in replacement to Dark Knight Grissom, whom had been slain by Raven at some point previous. During the attack, he took on a new recruit by the name of Rosaline whom he formed a personal interest in (Whether it’s a romantic interest, or something else is unknown, though theories go that he was fascinated by Rosaline’s conviction). All was going well in his plans, Clan Borozoi (a lower clan being controlled by the Red Wings) lorded over Dalmasca and the Archades in a traditional reign of terror, his influence spreading throughout the country and threatening to infiltrate various political powers…
However, one clan, Clan Highwind, stood up to Clan Borozoi, unaffected by the Judges of Ivalice, influencing a wide-spread interest in bringing the clan down, and ending their reign over the regions. Time passed, and eventually Borozoi was taken out. However in retaliation, Raven plotted what he planned to be the Death of Clan Highwind, the instigators of the wide-spread riot, and the kidnapping of Princess Ashe during a ball celebrating her birthday, as well as the downfall of Borozoi’s influence. He appeared to succeed at first, one of his clan-members poisoning Gantz, and a group of his best men easily defeating the judges, and getting away with Ashe…
However, what he didn’t count on was Gantz faking his poisoning, due to a forewarning he received from a traitor in his ranks… Rosaline. However, he didn’t have long to wait for payback as, after Gantz and Rosaline dropped off Ashe in a town in Dalmasca, they rode off to the Sienna Region in the Archades, eventually coming across Jagd Helje. Upon their arrival, Gantz and Rose were quickly separated, with Rose being dragged off to a prison cell, and Gantz himself sent directly to Raven himself so the two men could finally meet face to face. Though thoughts, semantics, and various ideals were passed around, it became apparent quickly that the two men could not agree, and trying to ask Gantz to join Red-Wings was a lost cause.
Rather then have him dragged off however, Raven opted to kill Gantz himself, reasoning that the Highwind leader’s head mounted on a pike would demoralize clans everywhere. The fight ended badly for Gantz the young man beaten to a bloody pulp; however, before a killing stroke could be delivered, Raven was blindsided by Rosaline whom proceeded to fight back against him effectively. The question to how she escaped was answered when it became clear that a raiding team had infiltrated Jadg Helje, Clan Highwind backed by Clan Centurio, among other well known clans. With his plans quickly going to hell due to one blind mistake, Raven quickly lost his mind and beat Rosaline to a pulp. An enraged Gantz then discovered Raven’s weakness; a lack of faith in the elements, and thereby, a disability to use magic. A long series of events took place before Gantz and Raven found themselves thrown off the cliffside Jagd Helje sat on. Raven’s death was swift yet painful as he collided with a platform of rock sticking out of the cliff, while Gantz managed a barrier to partially protect him during a painful landing in the ocean……
However, while Gantz himself survived due to the joint effort of his friends and the other clans present, Raven survived for completely different reasons. While rotting in Limbo, he was approached by a mysterious being that called itself Mateus….
[And that’s where I stop, I pretty much spoiled a lot of what I had in mind for my FFTA2 stories, so keep this on the down-low peeps!]
Other
This version of Raven takes place after my current FFTA2 story, which is a continuation of the story I just detailed. As such, Raven has died more then once, and it’s revealed that he’s just too goddamned stubborn to just give up the ghost, and take his punishment down in the pits of Hell. Due to this, he has an unofficial means of immortality where, when he dies, his soul he can simply escape the pits of hell, and when his soul returns to his body, he can heal his wounds and simply move on. He’s rather annoying that way.
