Max and James looked at her curiously as she spoke on the phone. They couldn't place the voice on the other end at first; then it hit them.
"Is that Alex--I mean, Gantz on the phone?!"
Kaitlin felt triumphant. These guys knew Gantz? Well, that made her job easier. But who was--
Wait. They were looking at Jaron in the photo when they mentioned Yana. Which meant--
She grabbed Metal and brought him within an inch of her face. You've SEEN him?! WHERE IS HE?!"
She noticed Climber's terrified expression. "Uh, sorry." She let go up Metal. "Anyway, you'd better start talking. BOTH OF YOU."
Of ALL the things Yana expect to come out of the ball, he didn't expect it to be a brown fox.
The little thing seem totally bewildered, looking this way and that, clearly unfamiliar with its surroundings.
When it saw Yana, though, its eyes lit up and it ran toward him excitedly, jumping into his arms and nuzzling him.
"Whoa, whoa! Easy!" Yana gazed at the fox. "Who are you supposed to be?"
The fox looked confused. Before it could do anything else, however, there was a click.
"Don't IGNORE me."
"Eighteen minutes and counting."

Misty ignored the pokemon trainer, and continued listening to Gantz and Rose. "I don't like this guys. Kavma's NEVER given us reason to trust him before. And I don't feel comfortable about taking his word for it." She frowned a bit. "I say we look for the bombs and disarm em before they go off."
"Knowing Kavma, that won't be an easy task. These bombs are probably pretty well hidden too..." Gantz appeared to think a moment. "Though that might be a smart back-up plan... Get in contact with Gene, and tell him to warp over here in a hurry. With any luck, we may be able to do something about this situation by handling it at the source-"
BANG!!!!!
Misty jumped at the sound. "Gantz?!? Was that a gunshot?!?"

Downstairs, a barrier had covered Yana and the Eevee a split second before Strahl pulled the trigger... What REALLY cued Gantz, Rose, and Red's appearance on scene however was Red hoping past Yana, her cloak giving her the illusion she was flying, and she swung at Wilhelm. While Wilhelm himself dodged, his rifle was sliced in half by the jagged edge of Red's Buzzsaw blade.
Gantz meanwhile pulled out Soul Calibur, and grinned at Strahl, Rosaline pulled out her own sword as well and easily held it up despite it's obvious weight. "Yeah. Hi there." He momentarily ignored Misty's yell on the phone, as he sized the man before him up.
He charged at Strahl and swung Soul Calibur in a wide arc, Strahl barely dodging. Rosaline followed up Gantz's swing with a turning swing. If Wilhelm dodged that, Red was way ahead of the two and bent the sword like she was trying to fold it... Before she tossed it at Wilhelm, the edges spinning around like one of the most dangerous Boomerang's in existence.

Metal and Climber looked between each other, they wanted to say something... But they didn't have time!
"Uh, listen, miss." Metal offered. "As much as we would LOVE to chat... We're kinda in a hurry here..."
"Yeah!" Climber chimed in. "We need to find these people that are in trouble and get them out of the building, before something called 'bombs' go off-"
That DEFINATELY caught Kaitlin's attention.

Max and James jumped at the gunshot. Without bothering to say anything, Max grabbed the phone from Misty and shouted into it. "Gantz?! Are you there?! GANTZ!"
No response. "Son of a Miltank!" He shoved the phone back into her hands and ran towards the nearest staircase, James jumping back onto his shoulder as he did so.
"Bombs?! Who--" Kaitlin facepalmed. "Princess. Right. Okay, enough talk. I'll take you to the hostages. But you have to tell me how you know Jaron and Gantz on th--" She stopped. Climber was looking behind her in terror. "Don't tell me, Princess is at the door behind me with tons of weapons."
"Right in the f*cking downunda, mate."
Wilhelm ducked under Rosaline's swing and pulled out his Beretta, discharging the entire clip at Red's sword, knocking it out of the air.
He spun and decked Gantz in the cheek, whipping out his S&W and aiming. "SUCK IT, YOU SON OF A B*TCH!"
He didn't get to pull the trigger. Yana had punched him in the gut, making him drop the gun as he followed by backhanding him into the desk.
Wilhelm clambered up and turned to face them. "All right, this is just getting ridiculous." He pointed his handgun at them. "And you broke my shotgun, too. Do you have ANY idea how much that cost, any of you?!"
"I think you have more to worry about than a shotgun, sir," said Yana.
"Oh, shut up! I'm just doing this for the paycheck! And for the record, four against one isn't very fair, now is it?" He pulled out another grenade. "IS IT?!"
BANG!
"Fifteen minutes and counting. Half the hourglass has run out. Better hurry, my friends."

"Goddammit!!!" Misty quickly followed Max, having said that. "Max WAIT FOR ME WILL YA?!?!?"

The Flash Grenade went off as one would expect...
However as Wilhelm made his getaway...
SHING!!!! The floor at his feet flash froze quite suddenly, and his feet slipped out from underneath him.
When he looked around he found Gantz standing over him, the others getting their wits back...
And the boy was pointing to his sunglasses.
"Next time, you might want to consider everyone's gear before ya try a stunt like that."
Wilhelm never had a chance to respond before with a loud "FORE!!!", smacked the mercenary into the wall with a Golf swing with Soul Calibur, still in her sheathe.

Downstairs Metal, Climber and Kaitlin looked as Princess approached them, armed to freaking teeth with guns. "This does not bode well..." Metal's armor was strong, but there was only so many shots he could take.
Climber meanwhile looked on in surprise... "W-Wait a second!" He walked in front of Kaitlin, looking a tad panicked. "We don't have to fight..."
[Have Princess try to shoot Climber.... Let's just say if you watched Climber's tournament entries, specifically with his match against a certain gunman, you'll get where I'm going with this. XDD]

"MATTRESSBRAIN DIES FIRST!"
There was a loud bang as she opened fire on Climber.
Wilhelm slid down from the wall like a ragdoll. "Urrrrgh..." He blinked and stumbled to his feet, reaching for his handgun. "Goddamned son of a--"
"YAAAH!"
Yana had actually tackled Wilhelm, knocking both of them to the floor as they rolled over and over, struggling with each other.
"OFFA ME!"
"Where's the letter, where's--"
"I SWEAR TO GOD, I WILL CUT YOU!!!"
Wilhelm kicked Yana off of him. As he sailed through the air, however, they all noticed that he was holding an envelope in his hand.
Well, that and the huge grin on his face.
Max slid down the banister and kicked down the door, running into the second floor hallway. "Where the heck is he?!"
Kaitlin could do nothing but stand there helpless as the Climber was riddled with bullets.
Of course, as soon as they made impact, she noticed the issue.
Each and every bullet went right through him, and yet he remained standing, even after Princess emptied the entire clip. He just stood there, looking annoyed.
Princess was indignant. "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMIT-- OOF!"
Kaitlin ran forward and slammed her fist into Princess's stomach, knocking her into the wall. "BUIZEL!"
Buizel got the hint, immediately shooting an Ice Beam at the horrid woman, freezing everything but her head.
Kaitlin turned to the other two with superb indifference to Princess's screams of protest. She stared at the Climber. "Okay, how the heck are you still standing? And--" She stopped. "Wait, is your face made of mud and marker?"
There was a sound like shattering glass as Princess broke free of the ice. She pointed her gun at Kaitlin. "YOU HAVE BEEN A (CENSORED) THORN IN MY SIDE FOR TOO LONG!
She pulled the trigger.
"Thirteen minutes. Could it be that he has won?"

At first, it looked like Kaitlin would be taking that bullet...
At least until Metal zoomed up and quickly got in front of her. His eye visor cracked from the blow, as he fell to the floor. "I'm a robot, and yet that hurt... Ironic."
"Hey!!! Stop shooting already!!!" Climber was already pretty annoyed after getting his hide pumped full of lead; seeing Metal getting the same treatment pretty much did it.
At fast speeds that Princess VERY doubtfully saw coming, Climber zoomed over to her, and swung the blunt top of his pick-axe, clean at her face. He was never violent by nature, but this was DEFINATELY called for.

Back upstairs, Gantz kept a careful eye on Wilhelm, but noticed Yana had a letter as he touched down. "Yana! Is that it?"
"GANTZ!!!!!" Wilhelm probably jumped when he heard that voice. "WHERE ARE YOU!?!?!?!? GIMME A CLUE HERE!!!!!!" Obviously Misty had followed Max downstairs, and her shouting was echoing down the halls.
"Misty!!" Rose smiled at this. "Perfect timing! We're in here!"
An evil grin appeared on Red's face as she pointed her buzzsaw blade at Wilhelm.

Wilhelm scrambled backward until his back hit the wall. "Oh, crap, why is it always the childr--"
Max's heart leaped when he heard the girl's voice. Sure, he had no idea who it was, but if she was with Gantz, it was all right with him! He turned the corner--
and then, against all odds, the floor gave way beneath him.
"GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Kaitlin looked up, startled. "What the--"
As if on cue, a hole opened up in the ceiling and Max fell through, landing right on Princess and causing the Climber to miss.
Yana jumped. "What was th--"
Princess and Max stared at each other.
Then Max jumped off of her and scrambled backwards. "GAH!!!! No you agai--" He stopped when he noticed Kaitlin.
"KAITLIN?!
"MAX?!"
"BUI?!"
"BUIZEL!"
"PRINCESS!" she shrieked, lunging at the Climber.
All of a sudden, a loud, booming voice was heard throughout the building.
A voice Gantz knew all too well.
'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe; all mimsy were the borogoves, and the mome raths outgrabe.
Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun the frumious Bandersnatch!"
"What in the--"
A video screen descended from the ceiling, floating in front of the group. Upon that screen was a figure entirely covered in shadow.
"Kavma Raleigh, at your service."

Misty decided to ignore Max, upon hearing him shout someone's name on the first floor. It helped that she heard a certain someone's voice from the studio. Growling, she flew into room and happened to see the screen.......
"OH YOU SONNOVA BITCH!!!!!!!!"

Downstairs, Climber let out a panicked yell, before he was tackled full long by Princess... She couldn't do too much however before she felt a cold metal finger tap her on the shoulder.
"Excuse me." Metal had his other hand raised up, fingers casually clenched into a fist. "I do believe that's my friend your menacing."
This was followed immediately by a punch that would MORE then guarantee an instant head-ache.

Back upstairs, Rose had to quickly grab Misty before she could lunge at the TV. Even though she held on as tight as she could, that didn't stop Misty from clawing, kicking and biting at the open air before her. "Misty PLEASE! You're not going to hurt a TV screen!"
"I DON'T CARE THAT $#IT EATING, C@#% SUCKING SONNOVA OF BIT@# IS DEAD MEAT!!!!!!!!"
Deciding to try and regain a sense of calm, Gantz cleared his throat. "Yeah... As you can see Misty STILL hasn't forgiven you for messing with her head... And I barely need to say that her feeling are VERY justified." He crossed his arms with an impatient frown on his face. "Okay, creepo, we did what you asked, we got the f@cking letter," The language probably surprised Yana. "Now give Yana his memories back!"

The language downright shocked Yana--it seemed rather out of character for Gantz--but he stayed silent.
The shadow seemed to raise an eyebrow. "Barely five seconds and you all go insane at the sight of me. It's a new record." He clapped his hands. "Now, then, Yana, allow me to congratulate you on your success."
Yana blinked, then looked at the letter. "Ummm..." He looked back at the figure "What--"
"Open it."
Yana shrugged, then tore open the letter. There were three things--
the first one, surprisingly, was a check for $50,000 dollars and a note saying it was compensation for the damages to Gantz's estate, as well as a written apology from Wilhelm for the swans.
The second thing, on the other hand, looked like an invitation, which he read aloud.
Great heroes of the Multi-Verse! Have you always wondered who the strongest hero is? Are you claiming to be the strongest? Well come prove it at the greatest tournament in the universe, the Smash Bros Tournament!
All willing competitors will be picked up via the Ghost Train, which will arrive exactly at midnight on each world and leave exactly ten minutes upon arriving, meaning you have little time to board the train. It will appear at the nearest Train Station nearest competitors.
Are you up for the challenge of a lifetime?
"There's no signature or anything...what is this?"
"A memento, I suppose you could call it," said the shadow. "As well as a memory."
Princess flew right across the room and into the wall. Kaitlin and Max looked at each other.
"FORCE PALM!"
"AQUA JET!"
Princess opened her eyes to see two irate Pokemon smash right into her. Before she could recover, Kaitlin was in front of her, grinning.
"Here's a bonus--TAKE IT HOME!"
She slammed her fist right into Princess's face so hard that when she hit the wall it left a large crater.
Princess slid to the ground, unconscious. Kaitlin brushed her hair out of her face as she walked to Max with both Pokemon in tow.
"Hey, Max."
"Hello, Kaitlin."
"How're things?"
"Better than usual. Gantz's in the building."
"Oh, you know that too, huh? Those two know him."
"That a fact."
"Yeah. They've seen Jaron, too."
"Really?! Sweet. Hey, have you seen Erin anywhere?"
"No, sorry. Hopefully she's with Alex or Jaron."
"I hope so."
They spoke so nonchalantly you'd think they hadn't been pulverizing someone five seconds ago.

Metal quickly helped Climber up, and looked at the two with confused expressions as to why they were chatting so casually, even after all of that... Metal looked to the Climber, "They musta done this before."
Climber nodded a tad... And he looked VERY confused at the mention of the name Jaron... "Hey... Who's Jaron?"

At the new record line, Gantz nearly blew a gasket. "Well you nearly blew up a BUILDING!! How do you THINK we'd react?!?!?"
When Yana opened up the envelope and pulled out the check, Gantz's attention was caught. Not due to the check mind you, but because of the other contents. He saw the note from Wilhelm... The thing that REALLY got a response out of him though was the final item in the envelope...
Let's just say he STILL had nightmares about the things that envelope caused.
"Wh-WHAT THE?!?!" He looked both surprised and a twinge horrified to see the letter... No signature or anything, just as he remembered it...
Rosaline noticed Gantz's flinch and, probably against her better judgement, dropped Misty. "Gantz what-" It was a second later she realized what she did. "Oops!!"
"YOU SICK F@CK!!!!" Maybe being held back helped reality set into mind, because, Misty didn't IMMEDIATELY punch the screen, though she did get right up at the screen to shout. "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?!?!? WHAT'S THE POINT IN ANY OF IT?!?!?"

Yana glanced at Gantz. "What? What's wrong?"
Gantz was too shocked to respond.
After Misty's rant, the shadow actually glared at her. "The point? You want to know the point? Miss, none of this has anything to do with you or your friends, this is between me and Yana. You think I'm commiting some great wrong towards you? That I want to inconvenience you? Well, newsflash: You got involved by yourselves, and thus that is your own fault."
"Leave them alone."
The shadow blinked and looked at Yana. The boy was clenching his fist. "Just...leave them alone. You're right, this has nothing to do with them, so stop bothering them and give me my MEMORIES BACK!
The shadow was silent for a moment, then he said, "Well. You seem rather upset."
"You're threatening my friends, of COURSE I'm upset!" Yana yelled.
The shadow chuckled. "Still the same."
"Huh?"
"Tell me, mister Yana, have any memories come back to you since you woke up this morning?"
"Of course n--" He stopped.
"I thought so."
The two blinked and looked at Climber. "I thought you said they knew Jaron, Kaitlin."
"They do." She pulled out the photo and pointed at Yana. "It's this guy. Do you know where he is?"

The Climber and Metal looked to the picture a moment, looking quite surprised. "Wait..." Climber looked even more confused then Metal. "But... If Yana is Jaron, then who's, and what and if Yana and-" If Climber was a machine his mind would probably be smoking by this point.
Metal thankfully was the machine and got it much faster. "Hmmm... I think I get it..." He snapped his fingers. "Jaron... that's Yana really is Climber." He snapped his fingers. "If your looking for him, he's right upstairs with Gantz. Their probably in the studio right this second."

"Stop insulting him." The bearer of Soul Calibur growled, "At the very least he's trying... And as for what you said..." A snarl crossed his lips, as the growl gained volume. "OUR fault?! In what sort of delluded fantasy, did you think that we WOULDN'T Help, if we knew a friend was in trouble?! You of all people know our history and what we've been through, YOU OF ALL THE HEARTLESS, SELF-RIGHTEOUS JACKA$$ES, should know that!!!"

And then the screen vanished, and in its place was the man in a white tuxedo, Kavma himself. "You are quite right, Alex--however, you must realize that at the beginning of all this, I did not know you were on the island. All the things I have planned only involved Yana and Yana alone. You became the unforeseen variable the moment you entered the church this morning..." He grinned. "As always. You've done me proud once again."
Kaitlin and Max were gone almost as soon as Metal stopped talking. "Hey, don't you think we should've waited and asked what they meant by Yana?" "Who cares what they meant? We can ask Jaron as soon as we find him. And hopefully Erin's with him." "Well, what about Princess?" "Max, how long do you expect it to take for her to wake p after that?" "Right...huh?"
Wilhelm made his way down the hallway. Thankfully Kavma had kept them busy long enough for them to not notice him escape. Screw the job, screw EVERYTHING, I'm getting out of here, I swear to--"VEE!" Wilhelm was knocked over as a brown furry blur nailed him in the back. "GACK!" "Well, well, well." Wilhelm looked up to see Kaitlin and Max, Erin the Eevee jumping onto her trainer's shoulder as James and Buizel stood at their feet. And all five looked ticked. "This is the guy who took your Pokeballs, right guys?" "Vee!" "Buizel!" Perfect."Ah, sh*t."

Gantz's fists looked like they were gonna cut off blood circulation they were gripping so hard. "I'm SO HAPPY I could ENTERTAIN you." MASSIVE sarcasm was apparent as he said that through gritted teeth.
This was followed by what sounded like a beatdown just right outside the door.
"Huh?! What the-?!" Rosaline turned to the door, "What in Ultima's name is going on out there?!?!"

By the time Metal and the Climber caught up with Max and Kaitlin, THEY had found Wilhelm.
The Climber winced as the show went on, watching through a squinty expression. "I forgot how powerful pokemon could be..."

Needless to say, by the time they were done Wilhelm was nearly unrecognizable. Max wiped his hands. "You guys done with all your aggression?"
"Bui."
"Vee."
"Good."
"I say we never tell Jaron about this."
"Yeah, you know he'd fr--"
And of course, being the complete **** that I am, a hole in the floor opened up underneath them.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"
Before any of them could leave and see what had happened, the door inexplicably vanished.
"My associate has run into some trouble, I'm afraid," Kavma sighed. "Needless to say, I suppose he should be lucky it wasn't YOU who was giving him his just desserts."
Yana glared at him "You--let us out!"
"Not until I have my say. After all, you want your memories back, don't you?"
Yana was speechless.
The two of them got to their feet and looked up to see the hole vanishing. "Oh, for--that just isn't fair!" Kaitlin raged.
The two of them headed toward the staircase.
