It was only a matter of time before the Summer Snow gang made their way to the mall. When that happened, Jen and Darien had broken off for some well-needed time with each other, leaving Evan, Patrick and Toby to find something they could do together. They had already spent a fair amount of change at the arcade, and the plastic slinky Patrick was playing with was evidence of his little winnings at ski ball. Now they were passing by another certain hot spot...
"Karaoke?" Patrick was almost immediately drawn in. "Aw, sweet! We haven't done karaoke in forever!"
"Yeah, not since Wendy had that little uproar at Jason and Therel's duet..." Evan reminisced with slight uneasiness; best not to reopen those wounds. "But, hey, I'm up for whatever you guys want."
"Yay!" Patrick happily bounced around. "Come on, Toby, you gotta do this with us!"
Toby smiled awkwardly and shrugged. "I-I guess that's alright... as long as I don't have to-"
"Aw, come on, man! Everyone has to sing in the karaoke bar!"
"It is the way of things, isn't it?" Evan murmured.
"Patrick, I really don't-"
"Pleeeeeeeease?"
Toby sighed. "Alright, fine. Let's just..."
Without another word, Patrick grabbed Evan and Toby's wrists and hauled them inside whether they liked it or not.

No sooner does the group walk into the Karaoke bar then they hear what sounds like an upbeat Arabian-style rock ballad playing over the stereo system, blasting by all means of the word. On stage, a young woman appeared to be doing some stretches, as the song's opening played. When it reached the first stanza she started to perform bellydance like movements, getting quite into the music.
"They saaaay, We live in the darkness.... They saaaay, There's trouble aheaaad...."
She does a twirl causing her big purple pony tail to twirl around her body before righting itself behind her back.
"Every daaay, There's sorrow. Today... Tomorrow! But I!! Dance through it all!"
Her steps got a bit more energetic as she continued dancing along.
"Cause IIII Can dance through the danger. The maaaagic flows through my sooooul! All arooound, it's seeming, The Dream, I'm dreaming of better days, Can't be far away...
So I will dance through the Danger! And fly away to the stars! (I'm sorry but there's no official lyric sheet out yet, I couldn't understand what this line was) I'll never give up in my fight, till the future is bright!!"
The song takes a moment to slow down and allow Shantae to dance along with the music, showing great consideration and flow with each movement. The girl definitely got into it a great deal before the second chorus appeared and she found herself singing once more. She had quite the voice to be sure, and she really liked singing the song. For some reason, she felt like it was the perfect song to sing on this wondrous day.
After the final chorus, the girl did one last twirl and ended on a pirouette, smiling and catching her breath as the song faded out. The few people in the audience clapped to the song as the girl walked off the stage.
She smiled widely. "Phew! Been a while since I've done something like that! I should really go to a Dance Parlor more often!" With that said, she sits down at a table, wiping some sweat from her brow.

"WHOO!" Amongst the onlookers, Patrick's applause was probably the loudest. Next to him, Evan just clapped while shooting his buddy an embarrassed smile. Toby, though smiling, was doing his best to keep out of sight, more so with Pat unintentionally humiliating them... as usual.
"Now THAT was a show!" Patrick cheered, giving Shantae a thumbs-up as she took her seat. "Well, should I or shouldn't I?"
"Why don't you wait a moment?" Evan suggested. "There might be someone who's been waiting to go."

Shantae smiled as she motioned to the stage. "If one of you guys wants to give it a try, go on. Doesn't look to me like anyone wants to go next right now." The belly dancer kicked back in her seat. "This should be fun I think. Go on, you might as well give it a try!"

"Well, sweetcakes!" Patrick already knew what he wanted to sing, and after requesting it, he stormed the stage with his typical excitement.
"Hello, everybody!" he shouted in an attempt to get the crowd fired up. "It's great to be here! Today I shall be singing in the style of Russell Crowe. NOW PRISONER 24601...! Nah, I'm just kidding. But I got a good one for ya!"
As he spoke, the song slowly and quietly began, and as soon as the drums and that familiar talk box vocal effect began, Patrick rocked out, letting the music speak for itself.
Once upon a time Not so long ago...
Patrick took the microphone and gave it his all. He might not have been Jon Bon Jovi, but his singing voice was still pretty good and he was having fun with it all the way.
"Tommy used to work on the docks Union's been on strike, he's down on his luck It's tough... so tough Gina works the diner all day Working for her man, she brings home her pay For love... for love
"She says we've got to hold on to what we've got It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not We've got each other and that's a lot For love... we'll give it a shot!
"Whoa, we're halfway there Oh-oh, livin' on a prayer Take my hand, we'll make it, I swear Oh-oh, livin' on a prayer"
Evan lightly bobbed his head to the beat, enjoying this just as much as Pat. Toby was slowly starting to lighten up too.
"Tommy's got his six string in hock Now he's holding in what he used to make it talk So tough... it's tough Gina dreams of running away She cries in the night, Tommy whispers Baby it's okay... someday
"We've got to hold on to what we've got It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not We've got each other and that's a lot For love... we'll give it a shot!
"Whoa, we're halfway there Oh-oh, livin' on a prayer Take my hand, we'll make it, I swear Oh-oh, livin' on a prayer Livin' on a prayer!"
Guitar solo! Patrick took a leap of faith and shredded on his air guitar, falling to his knees and practically crying to the heavens. He then rose again, trembling from the sheer, overpowering awesomeness, and slowly worked his way back to the mike.
"We've got to hold on, ready or not You live for the fight when it's all that you've got!
"Whoa, we're halfway there Oh-oh, livin' on a prayer Take my hand, we'll make it, I swear Oh-oh, livin' on a prayer Whoa, we're halfway there Oh-oh, livin' on a prayer Take my hand and we'll make it, I swear Oh-oh, livin' on a prayer"
Finally, as the music faded into silence, Patrick took and overdramatic bow, threw up the horns and proudly strutted back to his seat.

Zahhakmon clapped for the human up on stage. "Nice performance... Both of you," he complimented to Patrick and Shantae. He was still awkward around anyone other than his missing Digi-destin.
