Jack continued his mid-air dance around the blades, clearly enjoying himself way too much. He had seen just about everything he needed.
Somewhere along the way, the Paramount Key slipped out of the neck of Jack's dress shirt, dangling freely in his flight. He raised an eyebrow at it, having completely forgotten that he had been wearing it and only now having his curiosity reignited. Maybe now would be a good time to see if there really was more to this key than meets the eye.
"Well... Van can, but he's keeping Ray from going crazy again," Patrick answered.
I can try, Van responded. If it'll stop Jack, I think we can all agree that it's for the best.
Patrick nodded to his British inner voice and surrendered control to him, nervous but prepared to subconsciously confront his angrier third.

"Right..." Cat rolled her eyes and left Patrick to whatever delusion he was having. "Just keep me quiet. I'll handle Jack."

Todd faltered a little more. He looked like he was about to fall out of the sky. He sent one last volley of blades at Jack. Half hoping to pin the guy down or get the key away from him.

Jack looked up just as Todd launched one more round of blood blades his way, merely smirking and going intangible, allowing the crystals to harmlessly shoot right through him.
"Good show, my friend. You're a talented guy. Now if you don't mind, there's something I wanna try."
Patrick, listen, Ray insisted as Patrick took Van's place suppressing him. You've never been great at the exorcism spell. If you just let me use one or two enchantments on him-
No, Ray, Patrick replied, sounding rather sad. I don't want anything else to happen to Evan. I can do this.
Van nodded and raised his hand up to Cat, surrounding her in a soft shower of indigo sparkles. The illusion spell was cast, and until it was lifted, no noise that the Pandemonium Warrior made would be heard. "Do what you must, but do it quickly."

Cat mouthed the word "awesome," but was surprised to find her voice silenced. Of course, this was followed by satisfaction, given this was what she wanted. She shot Van a thumbs-up and charged at Jack again. He wasn't looking; now was her chance.
Pandemonium energy swelled around Goldenhand, greatly enlarging the mighty flyswatter. Cat slammed it into the ground, creating a powerful force that pole vaulted her into the sky right behind Jack. With a muted battle cry, she raised her weapon again and brought it down on Jack, swatting him into the ground. She landed on her feet next to him, and without hesitation, she reached down and ripped the tinted goggles off his host's face.
Smirking down at Jack triumphantly, Cat threw up the deuces and wordlessly mouthed, "BOOM!"

Todd faltered again before starting to fall slightly. 'Good job Cat,' thought Todd after landing and collapsing on the ground.

"GYAH-!" It was safe to say that Jack, for once, did not see that coming, and was left genuinely dumbfounded as the enormous flyswatter pummeled him into the ground. In his disoriented state, he had no time to react as Cat seized his goggles, let alone prepare himself for what was coming to him. "You little...!"
"RIORDAN!" Van shouted.
"The dawn shall take thee!" As soon as his name was called, Rio appeared atop the church, arms spread and a bright green arcane circle forming beneath him; in an instant, a white light erupted from his form, engulfing the entire courtyard in its powerful radiance.
To everyone else, the sudden shift from dark to light might have been momentarily jarring, but their eyes would adjust to the daytime levels of light. Jack, on the other hand, was left totally blinded, screaming and curling up like a child in a tornado drill as his eyes were pierced by the infinite whiteness.

Cat briefly shielded her eyes from Rio's light, her vision coming back into focus shortly thereafter. She grinned at Jack again, taking pleasure in his descent from smug showoff to pathetic mess. "Yeah, that's what you get for ignoring my awesomeness," Cat tried to say despite the silence spell still taking full effect on her.
She frowned and turned to Van, mouthing as if she were shouting, "Hey buddy, you can unmute me now, y'know!"

Todd's eyes were closed the second that he went to the ground face first.

Patrick, I believe that's your cue, Van confidently thought.
"Ah! Right!" Once Van retreated back into his subconscious (undoing his mute spell in the process), Patrick dashed over to Cat and Jack, kneeling down over his friend's fallen form. His hand lit up with a bright blue glow. "Just hold on, Evan! This might hurt a little!"
Jack snarled into the grass. From behind closed eyelids, the pain had subdued, but he was still blind as long as Rio projected this infernal light. One of his hands feverishly tightened its grip on Evan's key. The other one reached up and grabbed Patrick's wrist.
"Do not touch me. Focus your rage. Make yourself useful and take out that mage."
Once again, pink sparkles lit up in Patrick's eyes.
Oh no... Van mentally gulped. Patrick, don't listen to him. He's enchanting you!
But Patrick was well past the point of listening. Slowly, almost robotically, he stood back up and pointed his glowing hand at the church's rooftop. In one silent command, a blast of blue energy shot out of Patrick's hand, knocking Rio off the roof and effectively extinguishing his light.
As the darkness returned, Jack quickly sat up and opened his eyes, wearing the smile of someone who just snapped. He shot into the sky, uppercutting Patrick along the way, and made an arc over the church to where Rio had landed.

Cat's eyes widened, and not just to adjust to the lack of light. Everything was happening too quickly for her to properly react to. "Idiot! What're you...?! Dang it! RIO!!" Seeing no other options, Cat raced around the church in the hopes of getting to Jack before he got to her partner.

Todd weakly started to move again.

Rio forced himself to sit up, a quick healing spell relieving the pain from falling off the church. He looked up in time to see Jack land in front of him. The demon was looking borderline insane.
A growl escaped Rio's throat. A rainbow of flames sprang to life around him. "Thou art froward, though I shalt not err a second-"
Jack gave him no chance to follow through as he slammed into Rio with enough strength to very audibly crack a few of the mage's ribs. Rio screamed in unbridled pain, a burst of magic unleashing from his being and causing mayhem all around them; trees decayed and came to life, images of birds and bats in flight surrounded them, portals to other planes ripped open and summoned elemental beasts, and Jack's host was even adorned with fangs and claws. Jack smiled down at Rio, flashing his new, sharpened teeth.
"Clever lad, but you're not so tough. Now if you don't mind, enough is enough."
Somehow, subconsciously, Jack knew he could insert the key into Rio's chest. He knew the right way to turn it. And when he did just that, Rio was suddenly locked in place. He couldn't move. His constant flow of magic ceased. His skin dulled to a stony grey and his expression was frozen in shock.
Jack stood up off the mage, grinning maliciously at the Paramount Key. Somehow, he knew there was still so much more he could do with it.
No... And Evan was dreading all the possibilities that came with it.

Cat finally reached Jack and Rio, only to find the latter already petrified. She screeched to a halt, her jaw dropping in shock. Then she snarled and raised her flyswatter. "You... YOU MOTHER FRIGGA!" And then, screaming in blind fury, she charged at Jack once again.

"JACK!" Todd shouted. "Your fight is with me you over grown fireball!" he taunted heavily as he brought up the geared viola. The Witch of Blood had gotten his second wind and he was officially pissed off as he brought the bow to the strings. Droplets formed around him again.
Todd let the droplets mass and turn into rivulets as he took to the air again.
