Patrick cringed, his eyes stinging from the sudden shift from dark to light but able to refocus relatively quickly.
Jack, however, was not so lucky. As soon as Mickey's shadows were lifted, the harsh lights reflecting off the white walls and floors surrounded Jack in a blinding, burning haze. Upon initial exposure, he splatted onto the floor rather abruptly and let out a distressed, piercing squeal that sounded something like a cross between a startled pig and nails on a chalkboard.
It was bad enough that his entire world had become shrouded in whiteness, but his tiny black body quickly absorbed the intense light, bombarding him with white-hot supernovas of pure agony. It was too much to bear. It was the worst pain imaginable. It left Jack almost completely paralyzed; all he could do was spasm uncontrollably, his form partially collapsing in on itself like a warbling black prune.
And with Jack in his true form and completely at their mercy, Patrick saw his opportunity.
He gently took Beth's crystal arm with one hand and once again raised his other against the little blob. Bright blue light covered them both, condensing thickly around Jack.
Patrick... Van spoke up. You realize this will only entrap him for an hour...
No, Patrick thought back. He's small enough. I'll make it permanent. I've got this.
But... you've never successfully made a permanent imprisonment spell!
Hence the power boost, wise guy, Ray muttered.
Van quickly caught on. Though he was still wary of Patrick's capabilities, regardless of Beth's aid, he could at least offer encouragement. Y-Yes... You... You've got this, Patrick.
Patrick continued to focus his abjuration magic until finally, a solid, semi-transparent, bright blue orb surrounded Jack. Then Patrick relaxed, with Jack meanwhile continuing to convulse within his spherical prison.

Beth brought up a plum-bob shaped polyhedron forward. It seemed to spin and come apart. "One max security prison for one pain in the ass demon," she offered.
The clock's spinning came to a halt as both hands landed on a thin silver stripe reading 'Rebirth'.
A glow was enveloping Todd's form and the blade dissolved. Beth smiled softly.

Cat watched the events unfold on the monitors. Then, once Jack was sealed away, she smiled and gleefully spun around in her revolving chair, pleased with their good work.
Mickey brushed himself off -totally unfazed by the fact that his clothes were still ripped to shreds- and smirked at Jack as the latter was trapped by the light and Patrick's spell. "Welp... Not gonna lie, that was fun. Thank you, sir, and I'll see you in the Doom Pits."

Patrick allowed himself a smile, his hand still lightly clinging to Beth's arm. He was pretty much exhausted after that fight, but he at least had enough energy to heal the wounds he had acquired. He even chuckled a little as he watched Jack fruitlessly bounce off the walls of his prison.
"So... any ideas of what we should do with 'im?"
Let me have a go! Ray insisted. I'll drain the life outta him faster than you can say "'Kay thanks!"
To be fair, I won't doubt that life force-afflicting spells are worth trying, Van reasoned, but I think we should focus on regaining our strength for now. It's draining for Patrick to heal us, which is in and of itself counterproductive. I'd like to even things out, if possible.
"Yeah..." Patrick mumbled tiredly. "Even things out. Even... things... Eve... EVAN!!!"

The light faded and Todd was standing again. "OWWWWWWW!" cried the violist as he finally woke up.
"Welcome back," she offered.

Mickey whistled and picked up Patrick's blue orb, holding it up for Todd to see. "Good to see ya up and at 'em again. Jekyll over there wants to know what we should do with our little buddy here." He smiled down at Jack and violently shook the spherical prison like a kid messing up an ant farm.

As Mickey shook the orb, Jack flopped around inside like a bouncy ball, squeaking in pain and anger with each ricochet.
"Oh geez... Ohhhh geez..." Patrick stepped away from the group, eyes wide with panic. "Uh... UH... Gimme a minute!"
He then turned around and mustered up every last bit of energy that he could into a purple circle in front of him. From that circle came a portal, and on the other side of said portal was Evan, still pinned to the wall by the fading blue light, but looking mostly calm save for the heavy grunts and pants.

"Stuff that thing in the hedron. It's a puzzle box," Todd offered. "So anyone have any Tylenol?"

"Eh, works for me," Mickey said with a shrug before tossing the orb into the hedron like a basketball. "I've got your lonely Tylenol back in the van... which I guess we'll be heading back to now, what with Wolfman over there..."

The noises that were projected through the portal quickly caught Evan's attention. He looked deep into the gateway, blinking his amber eyes in confusion. Then, his voice raw from apparent overuse, he snarled at Patrick and resumed his furious roars and yanks at his binds.
"Evan! Evan, calm down!" Patrick insisted. "We'll be right there! We're gonna help you out and... uh..."
It suddenly occurred to Patrick that the wall that Evan was pressed against was not so much a wall, but a large surface of soft brown fur. His bafflement lasted for about five seconds before a second force took control of his portal, opening it wider so everyone could clearly see Rio's face.
"My apologies..." Rio awkwardly spoke up. "I have only just regained vigilance. And... t'would seem that my accumulation of magic hath wrought a great gallimaufry..." As he said this, he slowly looked up as a horde of pocket-sized dragons engaged in an elemental battle with each other over his and Evan's heads.

Beth and Todd chuckled at the sight of the dragons.
"So.... is the van intact?" she offered as the hedron started to close.

Mickey's ears perked as shock, followed shortly by anger, started to set in. "Oh no, no, no, NO!"
Cat showed up right about then. "Hey! We all finished h...? Mickey, what's up?"
Ignoring Cat, Mickey stomped closer to the portal and shouted, "Rio, what the FRIG did you do to Vanessa THIS TIME?!"
"Oh, here he goes about the van again..." Cat sighed, anticipating a repair job in the near future.

"'Tis quite operative," Rio replied, watching as Evan snapped at the dragons circling his head. "Contrariwise... thine automobile appears to have assumed the semblance of a great feline."
"Wait, so you turned your van into the Catbus?" Patrick questioned.
"'Tis a carriage in the form of a feline, thus, as such... aye?"
"Nice," Patrick snickered, his mirth quickly fading when Evan snarled at him again.
Rio cleared his throat, clearly uncomfortable with the situation; each coughing sound created a powerful outgoing force that slammed Evan against the fuzzy surface behind him. "Cumbrous, wayward magic notwithstanding... hath thou succeeded in cooping yon churlish demon?"

Todd weakly waved. "And I have a splitting head ache...Also sorry about the turning to stone thing...." he offered weakly.

"WHAT?!" Without a second thought, Mickey jumped through the portal, crossing over to the other side where he immediately began running around the fuzzy interior of what used to be his camper van. For a while, he couldn't speak. He could only make horrified squeaks and guttural noises. Eventually, he managed to shout, "YOU BETTER FIX THIS, RIO!"
Cat chuckled and nudged Jack's prison with her foot, shooting her mage accomplice a smile. "Good to see you back on your feet, man."
