Full Name: Phoebe AKA Flame Princess
Nickname(s): FP, Flame Queen,
Age: 16
Height: Average for her age, though she can change her size depending on her form.
Weight: Given her physical make-up, she’s actually VERY light.
Gender: Female
Race: Fire Elemental
Alliance: Neutral (but is very good intentioned.)
Home: The Land of Ooo, more specifically the Fire Kingdom
Franchise: Adventure Time!
Physical Description
Flame Princess’ most notable point of inspiration comes from her candle like shape, which has been prevalent since her debut, making her curvier then most female characters in the series. Being a fire elemental, she has fiery yellow orange skin, with long orange red hair that is made of flames, and wears long tank top dress colored in various shades of red that reaches her feet. She is further decorated by two ruby red gems, one on her forehead, and the other on her chest. It has been shown that the ruby on her chest is decoration given to her by her usual attire. However, when she was deprived of all but basic white clothes belonging to a banished ruler, the gem on her forehead was all that remained, hinting that it is biological. As the Neo-Flame King, FP wears armor similar to her father, magma red darkened almost to a brownish color that well armors most of her body, save for her head.
Weapons
Being a princess FP has no real need of weapons.... Though the fact that she's a fire elemental and can control fire on a physical level also helps. See abilities for further details.
Abilities/Powers
Being a LITERAL walking blaze given humanoid form, Phoebe’s pyrokinetic capabilities come as easy for her as it would be extending a hand or breathing. This allows her the capability of using flames to varying degrees, either allowing her to simply create powerful fireballs either no larger than a baseball or bigger then herself, create flamethrower like jets of flame, propel herself like a jet either along the ground or through the air (giving her the power of flight), absorb other flames around her and even to sense the heat signatures of other beings around her. Along with these primary abilities however, FP is heavily hinted at being able to create her own flames within her body depending on her emotions. This ability has such a degree of physical instability that when she kissed Finn, these flame burned so brightly that she literally BURNED CLEAN THROUGH THE EARTH’S CRUST and was implied to have been capable of melting all the way to the Earth’s core had her powers not been temporarily snuffed out and calmed down by Jake. Due to this power, Flame Princess can melt through sheer stone, explode most metals, and since her inner flames can intensify to any length, she can use her rage to take on a gigantic version of herself which doubles her usual physical strength and stamina, though thankfully making herself bigger does make her a bigger target and slows her down somewhat.
Weaknesses[/u]
Of course, being a walking bonfire has a number of disadvantages as well. For as powerful as she is, FP is equally vulnerable to any other elements opposite to her own. A simple rainfall or being deprived of oxygen was enough to almost completely put her out. However her naivety has also proven to be a fatal weakness as well. In the Fire Kingdom she has covered this weakness by outlawing lying or hiding your intentions in general, but in other worlds, Phoebe can be convinced of any varying factors. One merely needs to push the right buttons.
Skills
While burning things was her only real skill for a long time, she has learned somewhat from Finn about how to defend herself through fisticuffs.
Personality
Finn has described Flame Princess as ‘Passionate’, while Pendleton Ward has described her as ‘Intense’… And really both terms can be used to describe this character in triplicates. When she was just a baby, it was foretold by the Fire Kingdom’s seer that she would surpass even her father and become the most powerful elemental in the Fire Kingdom, though the Flame King tried to have his daughter killed (only for the servant to instead cast her out), Bubblegum brought the little girl back home and told the Flame King to do something about her, otherwise she would. As such, Flame Princess was locked up inside a lantern for most of her natural life. Due to this, FP was shown to be a very temperamental and vengeful being, however, she has calmed down somewhat since that time showing off the more positive aspects of her often times destructive persona. She's a somewhat impressionable young woman (which is serves as a hint towards her sheltered lifestyle previous to her release), and is still very curious about her surroundings, having never seen anything outside of the Fire Kingdom until recently. Due to this, FP is actually a rather sweet and innocent soul. She just has a few issues with temper.
History
While the events are never covered in the show extensively, it is greatly hinted that some years previous when Flame Princess came of age, her kingdom was visited by none-other then Princess Bubblegum who had somehow became aware of a massive problem with the kingdom's native princess. In order to protect the planet, Bubblegum had Fire King imprison his daughter inside a glass prison (Which greatly resembled a lanturn), which the king was quick to comply.
A number of years passed with Flame Princess watching her kingdom through her Lanturn prison.
However, one day, 14 years since the Princess’ birth, as business continued as usual in the Fire Kingdom Palace, the royals were approached by an odd looking dog with a Flame Shield spell cast on himself. He claimed to be visiting in the stead of a noble prince named Prince Finn, and that the prince wished to date Flame Princess. The attempt was almost unsuccessful despite the three promised gifts the dog managed to improvise (and each one impressing Flame Princess greatly), but thanks to a supposed last minute arrival of Prince Finn himself and what seemed to be a psychotic episode, her father approved the relationship, believing 'Prince Finn' to be more then capable enough to handle his 'Evil and destructive daughter'.
When she revealed her true nature, turning a few of the members of the royal court into Flame Bits, 'Prince Finn' seemed to suddenly change his mind and quickly left, leaving an enraged Flame Princess to destroy her palace in her wrath, and chase after the prince. She at last caught up with him at a giant tree fort, where she decided to burn the tree to ashes. However, while spreading her flames, she accidentally lit odd looking rockets atop the tree (Liquid pyrotechnics that Bubblegum had left there previously), and the exploding rockets immediately started a fierce downpour of liquid rain, which succeeded in putting out the flames and nearly dousing Flame Princess herself. Thankfully the real 'Prince Finn' saved her as she fell from the top of the tree, and brought her inside to dry off. She initially treats Finn's kindness with disdain and hurt, only to have Finn immediately contradict what he APPEARED to say back in the Fire Kingdom, saying he liked her.
Confused and angry, she was quick to leave Finn's house once the rain outside receeded, though she didn't leave without slapping the kid across the face. Now located a long ways away from home, she decided to explore the new world she was in, made up of so many colors other then the usual fiery reds, oranges, and blacks. As she did however, she took notice of how easily everything burst into flames when she touched it, and how the liquid in it could easily hurt her, snuffing out her flames. During her wonderings however, she was quick to find her so called 'Prince' Finn there, trying to apologize for whatever had happened. At first, misunderstandings abounded, with FP eventually reasoning that Finn was TRYING to hurt her due to their differences as wide as they were seperating them.
However, after a failed attack on a village of goblins, stopped by Finn himself, it was only then that FP figured out what was going on. She saw Finn crying over how badly their meetings had went and she appeared to understand. However, in it, she mistakes Finn for a Water Elemental, her exact opposite on the elemental spectrum. Despite their differences however, Finn promised that he could make the relationship work... And in a way, she was touched. Finn was willing to defy nature itself for them. Their new friendship was started with a hug, that quickly burned Finn, and left FP unsure about what was going to happen in the future.
Some months after that attack, Finn and FP have had the chance to go on a few more dates, which eventually lead to Finn building her a new house (Which basically amounted to a giant bonfire in the place where the 'Rough-housing Marauders' used to camp, Finn was even seen throwing a Marauder's helmet into the flames; more then likely, the Marauders were eaten by Marceline's dad in the episode 'It came from the Nightosphere). By that point Finn and FP had gotten very close, and hug each other on normal occasion, during their dates. In the days following Finn and FP grew closer until they finally shared their first kiss... However, what she was not aware of however was that her chemical make-up was incredibly unstable. If subjected to romance of higher levels, such as kissing, flames would accidentally kick up in response, burning so brightly that she would burn her way through the Earth's crust, and trigger a series of events that would burn the world up from the inside out. Thankfully when the event came to pass, Finn (along with Jake accidentally cutting off her supply of oxygen by blocking the entrance to the pit she fell in for a few moments) managed to save her and restabilize her, to which Bubblegum commented saying 'We're safe... For now'. Finn and FP meanwhile worked their way around this obsticle, Finn kissing a rock, and letting FP kiss it back (Which is akin to blowing out a kiss)...
However, many things have changed since that day. Due to an incident revolving around Flame Princess briefly waging war against the Ice Kingdom and the Ice King himself, FP has broken things off with Finn the Human and spent some time in the Candy Kingdom, unknowingly under the supervision of Princess Bubblegum, who had wished to gather data on her unusually destructive powers. Insulted by the Princess’ approach, FP ran from the study and into the kingdom… It is there that she met Cinnamon Bun. Due to his simplistic nature, FP hit it off with him, praising the fact that, even if he was mentally incapable, he never once tried to lie or be dishonest with her. Through his actions, FP returned to the Fire Kingdom and usurped her father’s throne, imprisoning him inside the lantern as she had once been so long ago. Now ruling as the ‘Neo-Flame King’, Flame Princess rules over her kingdom of blackhearted and cruel people having outlawed all forms of dishonesty in the hopes of eventually having them become kinder. And while she was briefly backstabbed for the attempt by her handmaiden and her father briefly took the throne once more, Flame Princess took the throne back and imprisoned both her father and his conspirators. Having finally been set right during the struggle, Cinnamon Bun, now once more coherent and intelligent, was appointed Flame Princess’ Knight in the Fire Kingdom.
Other
Unfortunately however, while Cinnamon Bun was no longer his goofy incoherent self, he was still just as unfortunate. During a stroll around the kingdom with Flame Princess, a portal suddenly opened up, and, from it, Cinnamon Bun was sucked in, Flame Princess incapable of saving him in time due to the extreme winds. Devastated by the loss, Phoebe was quick to call in Princess Bubblegum to look into the matter and hopefully come up with an answer. Her response was a hopeful one; that the portal was an irregularity in time and space, caused by a mysterious space located somewhere between dimensions. And thanks to her genius, she found herself capable of copying the coordinates of the previous portal (Somewhat) to her own portal generator, which would allow anyone to jump in and find him.
Though Bubblegum warned against jumping into the portal until further research could be done, FP jumped right in…
And found herself on Dimensional Island.
