To either showboat or remain silent.............
He lowered his head lower... Still, hearing Beth's apology brought him around somewhat... And made him feel guilty at the same time. ".... No. I'm the one that should be sorry."
He turned over in his chair. "That dumb prank was my idea... I was the one that brought that nightmare down on all of us... I just..." He appeared to be getting more and more frustrated with each passing second. "I hated myself for what happened to Evan... Then I hated HER for being the cause of it. I felt like I NEEDED to make her understand how much it hurt." He shuddered. "It wasn't like she actually valued any of us. She got OFF on treating us like trash. I felt like she had to be put in her place..."
Lizzie just remained quiet... It was tough watching her older brother like this.
His breathing was irregular, but give him credit, he was doing his best to regulate it. "I... I just... I didn't want that to-"
He didn't need to finish that sentence.
He didn't mean to cause something so meaningless. And yet something that would go on to kill his mother. To kill everyone else.

Forsaken sighed. "I have yet to meet one of us from a good ending...." she offered before biting the cupcake as she watched the skyblue bond reconnect between her and Gantz. "Also on the subject of Evan... I might have news about that...."

As Forsaken spoke, across the water, on the opposite coastline, a face that would likely be very familiar to both players was practicing on the beach; music could faintly be heard and rhythmic clapping. Pieter, clad only in a pair of athletic pants, was sparring with another man, who had darker-colored skin, a short green-and-yellow shirt and pants, with white cords around his waist. The two seemed to be nimbly dancing around each other, with handstands and kicks lashing out, neither managing to hit each other.
Eventually, the two's legs clashed in a kick, and they both flipped backwards, landing in a neutral position. Pieter walked up to the other man, shaking his hand. "Whew. Thanks for the match, Eddy. That was fun, and I think I've definitely improved!"
The other man chuckled, nodding, before the group began to disperse. With a flash of light, Pieter changed from his athletic pants into his brown shirt with the bolt mark on the front, his tan shorts, and his tennis shoes, slowly walking down the beachside, exhaling softly. "...Wow. What a lovely day."
(For reference, that was Eddy Gordo from Tekken, hehe.)

Aaron had been JUST about to ask what she meant by that... However at that very moment, an odd flash of energy caught his attention.
In many cases, he was an expert at reading the void. When it enveloped something, the tense blackness could tell him everything he could ever want to know about a certain place or thing. The only thing it couldn't read was people. Too complex. He would've needed the horrorterrors to go THAT far... Still the one thing about Void sensing was that, regardless of what Aaron had been scanning, there was always the sense of emptyness in the air, a stiffling darkness that constantly reminded him of what he was using to get his information...
The energy he just felt? It felt like the opposite of that. Like it could absorb knowledge from it's surroundings but still feel bright and open. It was a particularly sunny feeling. An interesting one...
A feeling he knew only one person had.
And that feeling was coming from RIGHT NEARBY.
".... !!!!!!!!!!!!!" He turns to look over to the beach. Man today was starting to become REALLY eventful. "Hey Beth? Look after Lizzie for me? I'll be right back."
And with that he zoomed off to the main shoreline... However he noticed that the shoreline was starting to get further away... Yeah, this island was DEFINITELY drifting about on it's own...
"What-? Oh come on, what could it be THIS time-?"

"So do we follow him or just stay on this drifting island?" Forsaken asked her remaining companion.

Pieter was humming to himself as he walked along the shore, hands behind his head; the blond was in rather sunny spirits that day. "Hmm... I wonder what I should make for dinner tonight. That pork roast recipe I learned in Florence last summer sounds pretty good... shouldn't be too hard to get ingredients, either."
Chuckling as he saw a rock on the shoreline... a rather flat rock... he took it, polishing it to as close to a perfect flat edge as he could with his powers... then turned, sending it out into the water, skipping quite rapidly... it was still skipping as it went past Aaron across the water below. "Heh. Niiiice. Still got it~"

.............. THERE... THERE WAS NO CONCEIVABLE WAY HE COULD BE HERE. AARON WATCHED HIM DIE. HE HAD WATCHED THAT WITCH RIP HIM IN HALF. LITERALLY IN HALF. AND YET THERE HE WAS!
"PIIIIEEEETEEEEEEER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Before Pieter could actually absorb what he had heard, Aaron had flat out glomped him into the sand.
--------------------
............
Lizzie meanwhile only just shrugged. "MEh, at least here we've got the food he left~."

"Then shall we dig in?" she offered to her companion. "This is kind of nice. A beach side picnic with a great friend." Forsaken was trying to be positive.

"...Huh?" That voice sounded fami-
Before he knew it, Pieter was down in the sand, coughing from the intense tackle. "Oof! A-Aaron?!" He wasn't exactly sure what he'd be running into here in this now-not-so-fictional world, but... his old SBURB friends were not ones he was expecting. At all.

Aaron snuggled into Pieter warmly, welcoming. He wasn't sure how he was here, but he was alive! He'd been willing to guess that Pieter's death hadn't been heroic enough to really count. Maybe it was a guy from a. Alternate timeline... Oh like it mattered now! Pieter was here!
........
And he felt oddly taller then Aaron was accustomed to.
..........
Aaron bounced back to get a better look at the person he just attacked... He was definitely Pieter but... He seemed older, taller.
.... What... WAS this?
"...............: Pieter?"

Forsaken gave a small smile as she offered a cookie to Lizzie. "I wonder what caused Aaron to dart off like that," she offered to her companion. Being around Lizzie made her miss her own sprite.

Pieter slowly sat up, grunting a bit. "...Aaron, what was that about? It wasn't that long ago we saw each other..."
...Right? That little meeting hadn't been that long ago. The tall blond stood up to his full height... why did Aaron seem a bit shorter than he remembered?

[For the sake of moving this along a bit quicker we'll briefly have the thread focus on Aaron and Pieter before we return to Beth and Lizzie.]
....... Not only was he taller, there was other notable differences as well. He seemed older, wiser. Like he had actually been doing something other then playing a dangerous game for months. Aaron could almost imagine that this is what Pieter would have looked like if he hadn't played the game... But he HAD play the game. The power was THERE. It was apparent... And it felt even bigger then he ever remembered it being.....
....... "..... Pieter, you've.... Gotten taller..."

Pieter tilted his head slightly. "And you've... shrunk a bit from what I remember. ...Oh, bugger." Something wasn't right. At all.
This Aaron... his power felt different from the Aaron he knew and had met not that long ago...

.......... The math was done in Aaron's head as he continued examining the 'new' Pieter. New as in.... "..... OH NO NOT THIS SHIT AGAIN..." He had been so hoping that someone else had survived his session, had managed to make their way here just like he and Arti did... They would probably need friends there that understood what had occurred, so they could help each other heal and move on...
But no, after Beth, it was starting to appear that this wasn't meant to be... The witch had been too thorough before moving into the two main objects of her entire insane blood crazed revenge plot. He and Arti were on their own it seemed...
"You're not from my timeline..."
The man spoke despondently at this fact...
