Physical Description
A fairly beautiful woman at first glance, she is often described as ‘Lumpy’ by Stan, whom had once taken over her shadow. Due to this, some can surmise that Rosalyn is fairly shapely, perhaps a tiny bit on the plump side. She is well recognized by her long blonde hair which obscures one of her eyes, the white uniform that fits loosely around her body, the belt around her chest and yellow boots. However there are two traits to which Rosalyn is most infamous; Her standard Rapier, which she carries with her at all times, and her parasol, which she holds up with her only remaining free hand. Any hero in the know can tell you straight up that she holds onto this parasol solely to hide her own shadow, which was turned into a bright vibrant pink by an evil king she had faced off against once before.
Weapons
The WhiteRose rapier, a glittering and very pretty looking blade that is said to be reminiscient of the thorn hidden within a rose. Rosalyn can make great use of this weapon with ultra fast jab and slash attacks, showing years of dedicated study and training.
Abilities/Powers
Along with her great skills in sword technique and usage, Rosalyn is also very proficient with ice type magic, and even special other magicks directly related to her want to protect the innocent and the weak. Among these are standard ice shot and ice blast attacks, making her a powerful force on the battlefield, her Super Shield ability which guards all her allies from great amounts of harm as well as status alignments such as poison, curses or forced aging. Rosalyn is definitely an invaluable ally to have, not just for the voice of maturity but also the experience as a hero that she has obtained over the years…
Weaknesses
THAT BEING SAID HOWEVER, Rosalyn’s body shape is a point of great sensitivity for Rosalyn, making fun of it in any way, shape or form, even in passing, will result in a very flustered and angry temper tantrum or even physical violence aimed at her teasing party. However, her size is not the only point of contention for Rosalyn, anything related to the Evil King Stan or evil in general is usually a good way to make her throw all logic and reason out the window and seek out blood.
Skills
She seems to have control of some form of kii, which has allowed her to light her parasol on fire and use it to thwack any party that may offend her a great deal. An ability many have taken to calling the ‘Burning Parasol.’ This ability can also be used to channel electricity through the parasol for equally damaging effects. This capability, however, seems to tie into the fact that Rosalyn has a very unfortunate ability to attract ghosts and monsters near her to try and challenge their strength against hers, an ability she would much rather do without, as this literally makes her a magnet for trouble.
Personality
In many situations, Rosalyn is a very calm, kind and caring individual, wholely worthy of her hero title and of the accolades she herself believes she deserves. She has the common person’s interests at heart, tends to take seriously the matters of nobility and is greatly respectful…
THAT BEING SAID HOWEVER, Rosalyn is far from perfect. with a short temper and no tolerance for evil, as has been mentioned above, her figure is a touchy subject for the poor woman and she easily becomes violent and even verbally abusive if its insulted, sometimes even if its just mentioned in passing. She is not often the one that starts fights between herself and Stan, but when they happen, she’s usually the one bickering right back at him and trying to verbally rip him apart as opposed to finding some sort of conclusion in reason. Given her history however that’s not very surprising…
History
2 years before the beginning of the game ‘Okage Shadow King’, Rosalyn was a very well respected and even sought after hero figure, well known amongst the hero club and high up in the classifications. She had power, fame and some small amount of wealth, which allowed her the capability to live comfortably and afford her many expeditions out into the world to defeat any monsters or Evil Kings that cross her path.
One day however, misfortune struck the hero and she came across the ancient vase containing the reincarnated soul of the Evil Demon King Gohma, taking the name Evil King Stan. As she tried to absorb what she just found however, the shadowy creature jumped out of the urn and quickly took over the woman’s shadow. Initially, she forms the simple solution of performing suicide in order to rid the world of the Evil King, willing to kill HERSELF if necessary. Stan was forced to retreat back into his jar, though not before transforming Rosalyn’s shadow pink to spite her for her victory, and making fun of how lumpy the shadow itself was.
Rosalyn’s response was to toss the jar into the nearby canyon, there by hopefully getting rid of it, and the contained evil king for all time.
However such would prove to not be the case. Two years later, she encountered Stan again, this time taking on a new host body with a poor young kid name Ari who wants nothing to do with the annoying evil abomination. Rosalyn then decides to stick around the boy in the hopes that one day they would find a means of expelling Stan, and when they did, she could finally land the killing blow and destroy Stan outright…
Other
In spite of the clear hatred between the two parties, one of the most popular pairings in the game, (outside of poor Ari and one of the other female characters) was Stan and Rosalyn, many seeing the banter between the two as impassioned. While there is definitely something there on Stan’s end, Rosalyn still fully hates Stan and would want nothing more to finally kill the shadow and move on with her life.
