Full Name: Sanuta Kikagi
Nickname(s): San, Mountain Song, the Gardener of Hope
Age: 22
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 150 lbs.
Gender: Male
Race: Universal elemental hanyo (half human, half yokai)
Alliance: Neutral Good
Home: Kisono Fields, Bonsai Village
Franchise: OC
Physical Description
Sanuta is tall and thin, but very well-built. He has lightly tanned skin, short black hair, pointed ears and cerulean blue eyes. The sclera of his eyes changes between white, black and silver depending on which elemental forces he is currently tuned to (see Abilities/Powers); usually they're white. He typically wears a pale yellow, sleeveless robe and pants with an orange sash, sandals, and thick-rimmed glasses; sometimes, particularly while working, he'll also wear a traditional bamboo hat.
Weapons
He's not really much of a fighter, but should the need arise, he can defend himself with his gardening tools, namely his scythe.
Abilities/Powers
Along with the enhanced strength, speed, agility and dexterity granted to him by his yokai blood, Sanuta has innate control over the natural elements. He can only manipulate certain elements at a time based upon their alignment, categorized as such:
Forces of Creation (White): Light, water, earth and plants.
Forces of Destruction (Black): Shadow, fire, electricity and metal.
Forces of Change (Silver): Reflection, ice, wind and radio.
On top of this, he can also utilize the various herbs and fruits in his garden to grant himself other temporary abilities, namely soriki berries for super strength, kakuyaku fruit for reduced gravity, noji plant stalks for telepathy, and nekoka leaves for catlike reflexes (and some physical attributes).
Weaknesses
His elemental powers are diluted by his human blood and therefore not as powerful as a full yokai's, and his other abilities listed above only last until the herbs/fruits that grant him said powers are digested (though this is true of anyone who eats them). Despite his abilities, he is unskilled in combat and usually doesn't hold up well on his own in a fight. It can be presumed that, like all hanyo, he becomes fully human once a month and, as such, loses his yokai powers; it is unknown when this transformation occurs, as only his family and Kensuke have seen him in this form. Also, due to a childhood incident, his eyesight is extremely poor; he's practically blind without his glasses.
Skills
Most predominantly, Sanuta is a proficient and well-renounced gardener. As such, he possesses vast knowledge of agriculture, botany, herbology and natural phenomena. He's an incredibly hard worker, tending to his fields and performing great feats of physical labor with only Kensuke there to help him, and nonetheless, it takes a great deal to tire him out. His knowledge of herbs makes him a great medicine man; he even knows how to brew the elusive Nozo-muki juice, which can heal a person even if they are an inch from death. He's also quite well read in science, history and mythology, and when the need arises, he's proven himself to be a great haggler and negotiator.
Personality
At heart, Sanuta is a kind, peaceful soul who is content to live a quiet life amongst his garden but will gladly offer his services to others should they request it. He prefers his simple, tranquil life amongst nature over a life of adventure, and as such, even though he'll contribute in any way he possibly can, he can easily get jumpy and nervous when he's taken out of his element. He usually acts very cheerful and welcoming, and he can be particularly geeky when talking about his practices. But sometimes, if the things he cares about are threatened, he has the capacity to be very harsh and intimidating, and should this happen, he'll follow it up with a bitter, brooding nature that he generally tries to hide.
History
Sanuta and his twin sister Senuta were born to a human father and a yokai mother, the latter being the first Mistress of Twilight. Their mother died in combat shortly after they were born. Throughout their childhood, the twins were raised in their paternal family's garden, Kisono Fields, and their father passed onto them teachings based on the ideals of the God of Hope, whom they referred to as Kitomo. While his sister was more interested in following in their mother's footsteps, Sanuta quickly picked up on and grew to love the agricultural lifestyle they were born unto. Then, when they were teenagers, Sanuta and Senuta woke up in the middle of the night to find their father being murdered by a hooded figure; their attempts to fight him off failed, resulting in Sanuta's vision being permanently impaired and Senuta losing her left leg.
Despite his father's death, Sanuta held onto his beliefs and his faith in the God of Hope. Senuta left home shortly thereafter to pursue a life of adventure and heroics, while Sanuta stayed behind to care for the family garden along with their farmhand, Kensuke the Nekomata. He has lived a fairly simple life ever since, providing a large fraction of Bonsai Village's crops and medicine, and generally staying out of trouble. Recently, however, he has been receiving messages from what he perceives to be a servant of the God of Hope, a prospect that he sees as both an honor and a warning that his peaceful life as a gardener may soon be uprooted (for lack of a better term).
Other
Kisono Fields spans for many acres and grows almost any kind of plant you can imagine, from the mundane to the supernatural. Sanuta's house rests in the center of the land, not far from a small shrine his ancestors erected to honor the God of Hope; said shrine has an emblem on the outside resembling a pair of angel wings, and a bizarrely familiar emblem at that...
