The snowstorm seemed to engulf the island's northern region in its entirety, transforming the mountainous landscape into a cyclone of ice and biting cold. The atmosphere was thick with a blinding flurry of crystalline powder. The wind howled through the mountains like a great rampant beast. Snow cycled through the land, covering it in a chilling blanket of frost. Everywhere you looked, there was nothing but infinite whiteness and perpetual winter downpour.
And at the center of it all, in the eye of the storm, standing upon the frozen surface of Crystal Lake, was a lone yokai.
Senuta stared emotionlessly into the grey sky, with nothing on her mind other than the drive to display her power. Her arms were raised as she conducted the blizzard with utmost skill and vigor. The raging wind blew her hair and kimono in all directions, but neither this or the frigid temperature bothered her in the slightest. No trivial human complaints ever crossed her mind, and no longer did her human blood weigh her down.
The full potential of her yokai power had finally been realized, and with it came a startling transformation. Her eyes had changed drastically, appearing as white, slanted pupils that transitioned into a silver gradient and finally blended into black sclera. Two stripes snaked across each cheek, the color of which seemed to constantly shift between various shades of grey. But physical attributes aside, the fog's curse had led to a much more drastic change in Senuta...
The fact was, even in her altered state, her half-human body and mind could not handle the override of yoki. Self-control was near impossible in this form. The things that kept her grounded –her intellect, her compassion, her fears– were lost. She knew only rage and senseless hedonism.
As far as she was concerned, Senuta was one with nature. This island was hers. Hers to manipulate as she saw fit. And she would make her supremacy known.

Surely there was no one foolish enough to set foot in this storm. Had there been, they might have seen an enormous, dark blue shape sweeping over the land amidst the endless palette of white.
The dragon soared through the mountains, following the snowstorm's current. It had long figured out that the storm was moving in a circular motion and started steadily making its way towards the eye. It wasn't sure what it would find when it reached its destination. All it knew was that something unnatural had caused this blizzard, and it was determined to find out what.
It wasn't even sure why it was so inclined to do so. Maybe it was simple curiosity. Maybe it was instinct. Maybe it was genuine concern. Either way, this madness had to stop.
As it neared the frozen lake, the dragon touched down at land's end as gracefully as it possibly could; given its great size, it still landed quite thunderously, but hopefully the howling wind would mask its noise. Its glowing yellow eyes stared into the haze, scrutinizing what it finally saw at the center of it all.
A woman. A lone female.
And clearly one with tremendous power...

She could feel it. A change in her atmosphere. Something was here, and a big something at that.
Senuta turned around, her eyes blazing through the storm. She could see the silhouette of the dragon amongst the silver and white. An unwanted presence... but she had to admire what an incredible beast was in her company.
Surely this would prove to be an enticing challenge.
With a wave of her hands, the blizzard parted, creating a clear path along the lake between Senuta and the dragon. She glowered at her newfound enemy, daring it to provoke her.
"You don't belong here. This land belongs to the Mistress of Twilight."

The dragon snarled lowly at Senuta. It seemed like she was looking for a fight, a prospect it was hesitant to accept given the power she had already displayed through the storm. It wasn't about to just leave her be, though. It was painfully obvious that she was dangerous, and it fully intended to bring an end to her path of destruction.
Lightning charged up in its throat, ready to be unleashed at the first sign of trouble.

"Seeking to dissolve the storm, are you?" Senuta murmured. "That's not for you to decide. I control the wind. I control the ice. I will call them forth and see to their end when I see fit. This island is mine to bend to my will."
A powerful updraft lifted Senuta high into the air. Light and shadow twisted around her, creating a brilliant twilight aura.
"And I have no place for those who take my elements for granted."
She raised a hand, and in sync with her movement, the frozen surface of the lake erupted into a jagged landscape of icy spikes. The raging winds accelerated, and the crisp, dry air ignited a lightning storm all around them.

The dragon quickly took evasive action, lifting itself into the air again and flying high above Senuta. It scowled down at her in righteous fury, and with a mighty roar, it unleashed its own blazing stream of lightning from its mouth, the bolts branching out in all directions.

Unfazed, Senuta merely raised her hands and conducted the lightning into her palms, sparks flying from the impact and dancing along the breeze.
She dropped back down onto the lake, standing atop one of her ice spikes on one foot as gracefully as a ninja. She called forth the lightning that cracked across the sky, gathering it into an immense electrical charge that she proceeded to fire at the dragon in a thunderous flash of blinding whiteness.

As it swooped back down to the ground, the dragon found itself caught in Senuta's thunderstorm. And yet it was surprised to discover that this dealt no damage. Her lightning seemed to simply bounce off of its rough blue hide, causing it absolutely no pain. Perhaps a perk to being electrically aligned itself? Either way, it was nice to know it had an advantage.
It slammed down onto the lake unharmed, cracking the glistening surface, and once again breathed lightning at Senuta, this time aiming for the ice she stood upon. Perhaps if it could break it...

Senuta leaped aside, once again riding the wind over the lightning, and started bounding across the jagged pillars of ice. All the while, she gathered the snow that continued to fall and formed them into a multitude of even longer spikes, launching the crystal spears at the dragon.

When Senuta started dashing across the ice, the dragon quickly pursued her, continuing to strike the frozen lake in its lightning. With the two opposing elements collided, the thick surface cracked and buckled and clouds of steam started to envelope the land. As it aimed to strike the yokai, the dragon made sure to keep off the thinning sections of the surface. It merely wanted to lure Senuta into its clutches, but one wrong step and this plan could easily backfire.

As she jumped from spike to spike, dodging the lightning bolts with ease, Senuta spun around every now and then to launch her own attacks. Gusts of wind, fireballs, strange ethereal blades that seemed to be made of concentrated bursts of pure twilight...
Eventually, her dance led them back to where the storm began. With a mighty leap, Senuta slammed down on the ice, opening an enormous crack that snaked its way underneath the great blue beast. The water below them was already building into a raging current.
She smiled maliciously at the dragon. Even if it managed to avoid the crevice, she had it right where she wanted it.

The dragon half-snarled half-gasped at this new development. The ice shifted and buckled beneath its feet, giving it little time or leverage to flap its wings and lift itself up before it could sink into the frigid waters. It did become airborne with a great deal of effort, but its attempt at hovering over the lake was flimsy and haphazard at best.

It wouldn't make it far enough. As soon as the dragon took to the air, Senuta raised a mighty tidal wave, sweeping it into the beast's path. And once she had it effectively submerged, she instantly froze the chilly water, encasing the dragon in a thick wall of ice.
With her foe trapped, Senuta crafted another blade of twilight. "All too easy."
She then lifted herself into the air on a gust of wind and flung the twilight blade at the dragon's neck.

Okay. Now the dragon was furious.
This woman had some nerve, thinking this island was hers and hers alone to command, blindly unleashing her power upon the dragon... and now she thought she could simply take its life just like that? Hell no. It refused to be bested by the likes of this domineering brat.
With raging roars that echoed through the mountains like thunder, the dragon desperately shook and slammed itself against its icy prison, cracking the frozen surface until it could finally shatter it and bust out. The twilight blade soared past it just inches away from its neck, and almost immediately, it lunged at Senuta, mouth open and teeth erect with the intent to rip and tear.

"Hng...?!" Senuta hastily dashed away from the dragon, just barely avoiding its gaping maw. "Insolent creature..."
She landed on the ice again and spun in a circle, commanding the spikes around her to detach and launch at the dragon. Then she skated underneath it, trailing lightning in her wake, and upon emerging out the other end, she gathered a large mass of shadows that she crafted into the shape of a giant hand and brought it down upon the beast.
