There was a sigh as Alex sat back at another seat... Really, he just needed a moment to sit back, take a deep breath and examine what the hell was happening... "Don't worry Evan, we get what's up." That likely caught Sanuta's attention somewhat. "I apologize Sanuta... We've grown somewhat used to running into foreigners that we felt were powerful enough to match similar levels as a god... To learn that actual gods once existed on the island is... Well.. It's an interesting discovery..." To say the least... "Is that's the case then... Where are these guys? Surely with all of the chaos that generally occurs around the island, it certainly wouldn't have surprised me if the surviving Space god was still around..."
..... Erin considered this, as did lizzie...
"Actually... That's something that's come to my mind too... You said that only two gods appeared, when you were expecting 8... What happened to the other 6?" Lizzie looked a bit unsure as she asked...

Finding herself at somewhat of a loss for words, Swift sat down on the couch next to Evan and wrapped an arm around him, eyes and ears low with worry.
Once he had pulled all the water off of Evan and distributed it to his potted plants, Sanuta turned back to his guests and awkwardly muttered, "I-I'm sorry. That was quite a commotion, but if we're all calmed down, I can certainly answer anymore questions you have. Um... Should we... step back outside? Or if we're staying in here, I could make some tea, or... no? N-Never mind."
He meekly sat down on one of the floor cushions and continued, "Yes, these tapestries were created by my ancestors. Truth be told, other than what Kitomo spoke of, I know very little about the other Skaian gods, because... we are still awaiting their arrival. This rings true for all of them. Though Seishin's spirit is one with the island, we were told that he would come to us in a physical form one day to expand our meager territory. And Kitomo... though he was there to guide my family, he claimed that it was not his time to reveal himself and that he had been brought to our aid prematurely by cosmic accident... an event he referred to as the Vast Fit."
He then cast a little smile at the image of Kitomo. "Given my extended lifespan due to my yokai blood... I do hope I live long enough to see his return."

Todd nodded as Forsaken came to look towards the group.
Yang quietly sat down.

Evan lowered his head as he listened to Sanuta, slowly leaning against Swift for comfort. Carter rested his head on Evan's knee, staring up at him with sad puppy dog eyes. Neither of them really had anything else to say on the matter.
Except for maybe...
"So... You say that much of the eastern region was created from Kitomo's world?"

Hmmm, it certainly seemed like it... Alex was... now starting to get a bit sad looking out the window to Bonsai Village and the mountainous region nearby... He was starting to recognize it now... This region was where....
Was where that other village used to be... The one that was so close to-!!!!
Alex's eye's were wide as he considered everything he had learned up to this point. This portion of the world was taken from a 'God of Hope's world... That god of Hope lived in this region... He must've thought it was important! "Um.... I'm gonna go out for a breath of fresh air. Please excuse me." Erin looked to the man in confusion as he did this, walking out the door... then looking east as he walked off into the yard.
-------------------
==> Be the Thief of Void
.................
Yes... It was starting to look very very familiar now...
This estate used to not be here... Instead it was a simple set of buildings left abandoned on the hillside. Inhabited by Consorts of all sizes... And the village down the hill... That used to be a farmland with a small number of houses amongst them. You remember it because... The sight looked so familiar... The setting was different but the landscape hadn't changed...
You could almost remember it like it was yesterday....
Walking out of the store to find... It.
LOLAG.
The Land of Locks and Gospel.
Even now, the thief could picture it, so bright, so hopeful, so cheerful.... There was the village, there was the farms... Then... He could remember asking one of the consorts, little mice with some amount of brains if they had seen-....
They would all point to a mountain... One just right nearby...
One that was.....
==>
[Alex looked up to Mt. Bonsai...]
It hadn't changed in the slightest...
Should he?
....
No.
No he had to be sure. He had to go ahead and see it for himself... He knew he'd find a temple up there but... MAybe... Maybe if he found... THAT, it would finally either prove this entire venture successful or... Insane... Whichever the result...
He HAD to see it for himself.
==>
(And with that, Alex, outside of view from the rest of the group, takes to the air and takes off towards Mt. Bonsai...)
------------------------------------
Back inside with the others...

"Yes," Sanuta murmured in response, looking up as Alex left the house, then casting a quick glance at a clock in the kitchen.
"W-We don't wanna keep you for too long," Swift politely offered, knowing that they had received pretty much all the information they needed anyway. "You probably have a lot of work to do."
"As is typical..." Sanuta nodded and continued, "Bonsai Village was once home to many sanctuaries and cathedrals like the one I maintain, which housed Kitomo's followers. Some also believe that beneath the Arena south of here, there lies dormant a great beast who tormented the natives and is destined to be defeated by Kitomo. Whether or not that is true, this for certain is: When the time comes, Kitomo will return atop Mount Bonsai upon an ancient stone structure that bears his emblem."
"Seriously?"
"Very much so. I know it to be true, even though few have actually seen this bed. It is guarded by a spirit who serves Kitomo and fills the mountain with songs to call its master home."
With a slight air of smugness, Swift leaned closer to Evan and whispered into his ear, "Ten bucks says I know where Mr. Voidy-pants is going."

Forsaken sketched as she listened and nodded. "Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to talk with us," she offered as she started to stand. "May Kitomo's return be a triumphant one."
Todd offered a nod as he started to get up.
Yang pouted slightly as Alex went off on his own.
"Yang be polite. Alex will rejoin with us after he does his investigating," Todd offered to his roommate.

With a much more level head, Evan absorbed the information that Sanuta exposited. So on top of this land being the remnants of his alternate self's world in the game, there was quite possibly a monster sleeping beneath the arena that he'd have to fight, and somehow, someway, he would make some ultimate comeback atop Mt. Bonsai. He wasn't sure what exactly that was supposed to entail, given that he was already there, but eventually it hit him... Out of all of the player incarnations, at least those he was aware of, he was the only one not a god tier.
He swallowed hard, still uncertain about how such a level could be achieved or if he was even capable of doing so.
He let out a stiff exhale when he heard Swift's whisper. Likewise, Carter huffed and murmured, "Is she implying that guy has no dick?"
Seeing Forsaken stand up and finding himself agreeing with Swift, Evan hopped to his feet and said, "Yeah, I... I think that was just the information we needed. This should help with our... research on the island. Thank you, Sanuta; all things considered, it was very nice to meet you. Now, uh... if I may, maybe we should check out this relic on Mt. Bonsai..."

................. Erin looked down, as did Lizzie. Now that Erin looked out the window... She was starting to see the similarities herself... It was hard not to see it now. It was hard not to look out there and remember the village of Consorts that once stood where this estate now stood... It was hard not to look out that window expecting to see farmlands as far as the eye can see... It made them both kind of nostalgic honestly... In a rather sad and mournful way...
In a way, Erin could understand what Alex was feeling.
... There was no way this could be true.
There was no way that... That a timeline FAILED THIS HORRIFICALLY....
Was there-?
She lifted her head upon hearing Evan speak up, then, remembering what Sanuta said, she nodded to herself. "Yeah..... I'm kind of curious about this myself... If there IS some kind of connections existing to these gods... Then... I wanna see it for myself too." She looked to Lizzie whom nodded as well.

"Yeah, I'm down for that," Swift replied, standing up along with Evan.
"Oh. Well, if you're certain, I suppose it's fair that we all return to our respective work," Sanuta stated politely. As he spoke, he turned away, pulled out a handkerchief, removed his glasses and took a moment to wipe off the lenses, not looking back at the group until they were clean and back on his face. "It was wonderful to meet you all too, and I'm happy to have helped you..."
He wouldn't dare say it aloud out of courtesy, but Sanuta was nowhere near as oblivious as he was letting on. Between Kendall's foreshadowing and the group's collective anxiety, he could tell that they knew something more about this situation. This wasn't just a research project.
Regardless, Sanuta stood up and led everyone back out into the garden. "I hope your studies continue to bear fruit. If you ever wish to speak with me again, I'm almost always availa- Oh! Look there!"
"What?" The moment Swift stepped outside, she followed Sanuta's finger and stared up into a tree, quickly noticing a white speck amongst the green. "What is that?"
"Don't you see? It's a dove."
"Aw, cool!" Swift simply beamed at it, not giving the bird much thought.
"Doves are sacred animals to Kitomo," Sanuta explained. "They have thrived in these lands since the island's birth, and yet no one has ever seen a dove take to the skies."
"Oh? And why's that?"
"Conditionally, they live in fear of the monster that terrorized their home world. They live without hope or the courage to fly. They wait for he who unlocks the gates of salvation and ventures forth to bring home the lost."

'And I was trying to help him fly last I saw him before that happened,' Forsaken thought as she looked to the speck. "Doves have become symbols of hope in other worlds. Thanks to Kitomo," she offered trying to sound positive but a bit of sadness creeped in her voice.
"That's quiet the goal to live up to," Todd offered before patting Forsaken's back.

As he followed the others out, Evan couldn't resist the temptation to look over his shoulder, harboring an inkling about what he would find. Sure enough, his eyes landed on the portrait of Kitomo; he allowed himself to study it for only a few seconds before turning away. He couldn't let himself dwell on that exaggerated display. Overwhelmed as he might have been, he had to stay strong yet humble. If not for his own sake, then for his friends'.
That wasn't him. At least as Sanuta had portrayed him. That was not Evan.
When he stepped outside, listening to Sanuta's final tale, Evan had to let out a sigh, his gaze flicking between the dove perched in the tree and the dove inked into his arm.. He wanted to believe that he could restore hope at the very least, but suddenly he felt like too much was being asked of him. He would help his friends with any battle or dilemma, but he wasn't there to play God.
Still... doves. It just made too much sense.
"Oh Jesus..." Carter grumbled. "Do you actually believe any of this bulls***?"
Evan only shrugged in response so as not to call attention to himself.
"Whatever. Let's just go check out that mountain. The sooner we get away from this loony, the better." With that said, Carter started making his way back down the path while Evan kept himself rooted next to Swift.

It seemed to stick with Erin and Lizzie everything they had learned, including the final tale... Which held significance unlike anything they had seen thus far. They recognized it. They knew it all too well... It was Evan's quote... His Player Quest... Erin decided to walk a little faster, Lizzie, caught by surprise, did the same to keep up...
------------------------
Once they were outside the estate......
"......................." It was hard to read her expression... It was hard to read anything about her at that moment. "Well...... I guess....." .... She lets out a breath.... "I.... I can't believe this... I'm not sure I CAN..... OR WANT TO."
Lizzie nodded, fidgeting her fingers nervously... "M-Me neither... How.... How could a timeline go so horribly wrong?" Go wrong? Sure Dimensional Island was odd but- "Sburb must always be played by an even number of players. No fewer then 2. No more then 12... And yet... This game was played by Pieter alone.... Sure a version of Evan came but..."
Did it really make a difference?
"This isn't a triumphant realm... This is just the scraps. I'll give Pieter credit for making it work so well but... This world is still so small... It's way too small for bigger populations..."

His smile never faltering, Sanuta turned to give Evan a warm look, particularly nodding at the latter's tattoo. "But there is always hope. You just have to know where to look."
With a light chuckle and a shrug, he concluded, "But I've rambled on long enough. If you have other business to attend to, don't let a windbag like me hold you back."
"Y-Yeah," Swift grinned awkwardly and bowed slightly. "Dōmo arigatō, Sanuta. It really was a pleasure."
"Please, the pleasure was all mine!" Sanuta waved to his departing guests. "Although I must warn you if you're going searching for Kitomo's tomb in the mountain! The spirit that guards it has repelled many curious onlookers before! Take caution, but have faith!"
"Will do! Sayōnara!"
"Itterasshai!" Sanuta took a deep breath and watched the group depart, then he turned around and stared thoughtfully at the shrine. "Soon..."
--------
"WOW. OKAY THEN."
In a rare display of openness, Swift removed her golf hat, her ridiculously untamed mullet springing free in the process, and used it to fan herself. "I don't know what just happened there, but Evan... I guess this region is yours more so than it is mine."

Todd and Yang nodded before following the others out.
Forsaken lingered for a bit. "Your sister will return soon enough, Sanuta. I've met her under the effects of the Nightmare Fog," the woman offered over her shoulder. "May the Pantheon protect you and keep your family line safe from harm." She soon followed after the others.
-
Forsaken quietly walked along.
Todd nodded as Yang poked the shorter female.
