The Mysterious Caverns

All my Years living on this island and only now do I discover a desert upon it- Not far into this barren wasteland I find what appears to be a rocky range riddled with cave entrances that lead further inward. Examining the caves close, I can confirm, like anywhere else on the island, the ground Does not resemble the meshed inward ground of outer dimensions, but rather Dotted, erratic and untraceable splotches. I daresay this may point at the island being the result of some dimensional mish mash.
Curiously, I had attempted mapping out the caves as I walked, tying them in with the region proper. Not only do the caves seem to stretch plum across the island, I can confirm these very caves also have entrances in other areas- I've popped up in a thick, misty forest, a frozen tundra, and even the side of a canyon. I'll have to mark the fastest routes for later use.
