Physical Description
Oddly perfect skin with big red eyes, Marlene can be more likened to a porcelain doll then a person. She is often seen wearing royal robes, with her most common being a unique red dress composed with some buckles and straps with a white bodice with poofy red sleeves up at the top. The girl has long orange hair that usually has locks of it tied up in pretty white ribbons wrapping it into curls. Despite whatever she wears however, Marlene is always, ALWAYS seen wearing her Tiara.
Weapons
Marlene does not carry a weapon because she does not typically fight. Rather, she prefers having knights around that can fight for her.
Abilities/Powers
Marlene herself has no actual combat capabilities or magical powers to her name. However, what she excels at MOST is her ability to manipulate people into assisting her with various duties and hard labor. She is even notable for being the ONLY person to have swindled STAN HIMSELF for Ari’s attention and loyalty (Though this was not hard to do since all she needed to do was flutter her eye-lashes at him).
Weaknesses
As a princess, Marlene has no combat experience, instead having knights do all the fighting for her. She can’t even be bothered to learn magic for any varying uses. As such, Marlene herself is an EXTREMELY easy target and is among the normal people that live on the island. That is why she’s lucky to have Ari and his friends. Otherwise she would be quite exposed to danger.
Skills
Some skills with cooking, taught to her by Ari’s mother. COULD potentially use a frying pan as a weapon, but would rather not get her hands dirty.
Personality
When Ari first met Princess Marlene in Okage Shadow King, the girl was a very snobbish personality that tended to look down on the common folk and naturally see them as lesser. In fact, even after she chooses to travel with Ari to see the world and watch him follow through with his task to sate Stan and get his power back, Marlene still saw Ari as a simple servant and tended to push him around for a variety of different things (That is, after she infatuated Ari and won him away from Stan). In fact, she would often ask Ari for somewhat unreasonable requests regardless of situation…. HOWEVER for all of her faults, Marlene can actually be surprisingly sweet when she wishes to be, once even going out of her way to find a flower for Ari’s mother in hopes of thanking her for her kindness and showing even the princess herself a general amount of love.
Something interesting about Marlene is that she once mentions ‘Starting points’ and seems to act as if the circumstances about her don’t typically and fully matter……. Almost like the whole thing is a game she plays, to which she is above consequences….
For as strange as her behavior is though, she has proven to be a compassionate person more then once, even showing kindness and caring to her traveling companions, most notably towards Ari himself.
History
It was a relatively simple and sunny day when, unexpectedly, the Village of Rashello received a visit from the princess of the land, accompanied by the Lord Chamberlain. The two important figures were apparently plotting to visit the Aquatic Ruins, a mysterious tower out on the lake, that Rashello was built nearby to. The official goal was a simple one, go to the temple to perform a ritual of mysterious ritual. The princess understood that the ritual was being done for the purpose of banishing the Evil King within the ruins…
However, just before the boat could leave the port and allow the Princess and the lord Chamberlain to sail to the tower, the resident evil king, the Bubble Evil King, abducted the princess and stated the case to do numerous evil things with her unless he got what he wished from the ruler of the native land…
However, on top of the Bubble Evil King being a dense, spacey, stupid and unimaginative lout, who didn’t even THINK ABOUT ransoming the princess until SOMEONE STUPIDLY SUGGESTED IT TO HIM, he was incapable of holding onto the princess long before a small group of heroes, headed by the Parasol totting hero Rosalyn and the rising Evil King Stan, came along and soundly defeated him. As Stan regained his powers from the pitiful evil king, the others freed the Princess from her prison cell… Only to find that the princess was only mildly annoyed at the imprisonment and believed that she was in no real danger (Which wasn’t necessarily far from the truth). Amidst meeting her rescuers however, Marlene met a young man named Ari, the boy overshadowed by the Evil King Stan whom was forcibly pushed into her by his owner in an attempt to hypnotize her and rule the land…
Only to be mysteriously thwarted by the demon stating that, oddly, Marlene had no soul…
And of course by her SLAPPING Ari into next week for being an 'offender' and trying to cop a feel.
Ever since that day, Marlene, once more ditching the Lord Chamberlain, started traveling with Ari and friends as they traversed the land, intent on seeing the end of all evil kings. During this journey however, she and Ari started growing closer, Marlene showing the closest thing to emotion she’d ever shown anyone…
However many more mysteries remain… Marlene often speaks of ‘starting points’ and ‘Another life’… And what did Stan mean, her having no soul-?
