Who Doesn't Like Pineapple But Comes From The Sea? (OPEN)

Aur-thur Cap-tor! Apparently. 

Yeah, he'll keep that one to himself.

With a restrained groan, Captor rolls onto his back, staring at the unfamiliar sky. His sopping suit has sand stuck basically all over it - this isn't his first roll - and his glasses are spotted with salt water. He reaches up and pushes his bangs over his forehead, hand lingering to shade his eyes (sea green, upturned, and less squinty with their newfound protection). 

Brave new world. ... maybe after a nap.

Nnnah he's way too curious. Up he goes, with quiet faux curses and a bit of kicking at the sand. He examines his suit, shakes his hair out a bit, determines that he would, indeed, look quite silly sauntering around like he owns the place whilst covered in sand, and there he goes. The magnificent Aurthur Captor, headed towards what seems to be some kind of... boardwalk. Fascinating!

The question is, what interesting characters are roaming about...?

It was actually surprising how little the sea-air seemed to fail to affect her. The damp climate seemed to surround her, but her own heat seemed to keep it back with relative ease...

Needless to say, as Aqua watched the Queen of the Fire Kingdom play with a plastic squirt gun, competing with other kids to get a prize, it was with some amount of amusement at the irony of the scene in question. Eventually, her good aim and slight headstart allowed the fire princess to win a prize... The stuffed animal reminded Aqua very much of the moogles she had met during her previous journey, and it was definitely interesting to see them reappear HERE of all places. "Hahaha~! Oh yeah!" Smiling with her new prize, the Fire Princess returned to Aqua, as one would expect a young royal would approach her knight. "Hey! Hey Aqua! Check out what I won! I thought it was really cute~." Aqua just giggled at the Princess' exclamation as she held up the stuffed Moogle to show Aqua. "I wonder what it is though? It looks kind of wierd..."

"Hehehehe. Well that's easy. That's a moogle. While adorable, they can be skilled merchants and magic crafters." FP looked the doll over once more with a kind of fascination that befitted children before smiling a little wider.

"Cool~."

It took only for a moment before Aqua and Flame Princess continued along their way, the fire elemental keeping close eyes on her doll without once setting it on fire.

I mean, I'd kinda go for the flaming girl with the blue-haired water-lookin' lady, too. What a duo. Their way he swerves, after a moment's chin-tapping contemplation, and waits patiently for the conclusion of the moogle explanation before catching up to them. He stutters on his first word, of course, then coughs into a fist and goes at it again.

"Excuse me? This is Nexus Island, right? I may or may not have fallen out of the ocean."

The ungraceful introduction is not without a bit of a meek grin and clear diction, of course, eyes flicking between the addressees.

Aqua and the Flame Princess turned to take in the odd man standing behind them. The royal Fire Elemental definitely seemed curious of the new arrival... The grown blue haired knight however moved in front of FP and looked at the man oddly. "Um.... Yes? This is Nexus Island.... Are you... A newcomer around here?"

FP DEFINITELY looked curious now. "Huh... Another new person... Weird..." But perhaps even wierder was the fact that this man seemed to know EXACTLY where he was. Which was rather unlike any others the princess had heard of before now... She shrugs and lightly brushes past Aqua. "Did you say you shot out of the ocean? Why didn't you just come out of a portal, like everyone else did?"

Aqua had a bead of exasperated sweat going down her head to show that she was clearly trying to imagine someone coming out of a portal at the bottom of the ocean. It was suddenly little wonder why this guy looked so water-logged. Someone here must have had some REALLY horrible luck.

"Ah! Yes, I'm new here. And I did shoot out of the ocean. Well, appeared about ten feet under and a hundred yards out from the shore. It was quite a shock." He puffs out his cheeks a bit while considering his next words, hands going into his pants pockets as he bounces a bit on his heels.

"I believe that was my transporter's intent? Dropping me in the ocean, that is. Been planning to visit here for a while. Is that abnormal...?"

.... Aqua shrugged curiously. "I'll be honest, I don't know... portals can tend to be random, but at least they've transported people safely onto land somewhere..." She considers the evidence before eventually shrugging. "I guess there always is a possibility that you could wind up in the ocean from a poorly placed portal-...."

"I'd hate to meet that poor shmoe. Getting teleported clean into the ocean? He must have the worst luck."

A sweatdrop from both sides of the conversation followed. "Hahaha... Very astute commentary your highness...."

[Monolilith]

"Oh, personally, I'd LOVE to meet him. Assuming he is not me! I'm pretty savvy with the sea, it wasn't TOO big a deal. And I got a fashionable reupholstery of sorts. I hear sand suits are quite vogue in... I don't know, some darned place." He manages to grin, head tilting to one side in an attempt to evoke a laugh. Or at least a smile.

His clothes are rapidly drying - a little weirdly fast, in fact. The sand is actually starting to crumble off, in places, but he'll have to dust most of it off manually. When it's fully dry.

Aqua... Well... She at least appeared somewhat amused by the man's antics. FP meanwhile just raised an eyebrow, before sticking out her tongue. "I will NEVER understand Water Elementals...." She then shrugged and started looking around a bit, her fiery hair crackling lightly like the flame atop a candle stick... Something appeared to catch her attention and she scampered off to what appeared to be another gaming stand, this time dart throwing competition to pop balloons for dolls and other toys.

With FP off to play another game, Aqua turned to the newcomer. "I apologize for her highness of the Fire Kingdom. She's still young, so as such, she is very much one to speak her mind."

The smile drops off Cap's face, and his shoulders slump with a quiet exhale. "Yeah, I get it. I'm a father, I know how kids are." He lifts his head a bit, and manages another, more sympathetic smile towards Aqua. "Don't worry about it.

"The name's Captor. You?"

"Heh... It's Aqua... And before you ask, no I'm not really her Highness' official guardian... I just happened to find her in a certain location on the island and started looking after her... It's... Been tough. I'm not really any sort of parent myself after all..." Aqua chuckled awkwardly as she started considering the last few months, rubbing her chin. "I've been giving it my best shot though? The Princess seems to enjoy my company so I must be doing something correctly."

Flame Princess looked Starry eyed when a certain player walked up and started popping Balloons fairly easily with impeccable aiming. Then the child was quick to pay up for Darts and start playing along herself... However, of course, her aim was much worse then the last guy. "Grrrr!!! Hit a balloon!! Fly properly!! What kind of game is this??? It's broken!!"

A certain nostalgia makes his smile a bit softer at that. "You know what, I think that's what counts. I'm not in any position to, make that sort of call yet, but... I'd say you're doing a fine job."

His eyes drift from Aqua to the Flame Princess, watching her frustrations with vague amusement for a beat or two. "Fun fact, I'm a wind elementalist, too. I'm tempted to... y'know, help her out."

OH BOY.......... Aqua chuckled a little bit looking a little nervous before looking to Captor. "That... MIGHT BE A SMART IDEA? The young princess can get a little... INTENSE when things stop going her way..." She wasn't kidding. FP may have been 13, but her mentality was almost that of a 7 year old.... Guess they just had that damned lantern prison to thank for that. The princess still had much to learn about nuances outside in the world itself...

As it turned out, her guess was right on the money, the poor flame princess seemed to be getting more heated with each passing second. The second dart missed soundly. "FLIB FLOB IT WHAT IS UP WITH THESE DARTS-" THE POOR VENDOR LOOKED LIKE HE WAS NOT LIKING THE DIRECTION THIS WAS STEADILY GOING IN. FP took another dart and just tossed it out of frustration-

And, not before a faint breeze passed Aqua and Cap, that dart hit its mark - a fat red balloon that popped with a satisfying 'splat'.

Captor's smile has turned into more of a bemused grin, and he glances to Aqua, brows raised in a 'heck yeah' manner.

You can tell the stand owner IS THANKING WHATEVER GODS HE WORSHIPED THAT that updraft had suddenly appeared and tossed up the fire girl's dart allowing her to pop a balloon. Almost immediately, the temperature in the immediate area cooled down and the starry eyed flame princess smiled widely at the sight. "OH!! Hey I did it!! Cool!!" She instantly turned to the stand owner, leaning on the table and bouncing up and down excitedly. "So what do I win~??"

................ Normally only one balloon would mean one of the smaller prizes.... But when he looked down and saw the cooked wood the princess had been standing on... He quickly reached over and picked out one of the bigger prizes a large stuffed rabbit. "H-Here you go little lady!"

"GAAAAASP!! Really?? You mean it??"

"Y-yeah sure! Just take it!"

Flame Princess returned to Aqua and Captor carrying her new prize. "Hey Aqua! Check out what I just won! Isn't she cute?"

Aqua nodded simply, letting out a cute chuckle at the cute blushing expression FP had. "It's certainly quite the prize your highness-" At that moment, The Princess handed the rabbit over to Aqua, catching her by surprise. "Y-Your highness-?"

"There you go! I won it for you! And hey look! It's blue! Just like your hair!" The Princess giggled before walking ahead of the woman, prompting Aqua to follow...

Aqua meanwhile just looked the rabbit over... "W-Well...."

That certainly explained FP's growing frustration. She wanted to get something for Aqua.

... My God, you can see his eyes shining for a minute. That broad, almost melodramatically half-teary grin is firmly in place, hands up a bit and fingers curled. He doesn't even speak, just nods, very slightly, for no clear reason.

He sniffs a bit, maybe for dramatic effect, then hits the stand owner with just the slightest little breeze. If he can get his attention, he'll wink, then go after Aqua and FP, feigning rather convincing curiosity about the rabbit prize.
