The stand owner jumped at the sudden wind. "What the hel-" He looks out and notices the man that had been with the Flame girl's party... There was a brief wink before he quickly followed after Aqua and Flame Princess.

Aqua just tittered a little bit at her gift whilst Flamey continued leading the way, until she came across what appeared to be a merry-go-round complete with horses and carriages. "Oooooh! Finn told me a bit about these! Hey! Hey Aqua! Let's get on this next!" It was notable that while it seemed Flame Princess wanted to grab Aqua and drag her along. However it seemed that the girl... Refrained. Though of course, given the Princess appeared to be living flames, that likely made sense. Even her coming in direct contact with things could mean burning things. Probably the only reason why the board walk hadn't caught on fire had been because of the humid atmosphere.

"Alright alright, I'm coming! Calm down now~!"

After a round, Aqua found herself off the ride while Flamey continued riding, just looking so happy with life. She had taken a seat at a bench. "Phew~..."

Lacking anywhere else to really go, and having found himself meandering after the duo anyway, Captor takes a seat on the same bench, brushing sand off his sleeve. He simply whistles for a minute, a merry and serene tune - perhaps waiting for Aqua to speak first.

.... Aqua chuckled as she continued watching Flame Princess have fun. She then took notice of Captor... "Heh.... She's cute ain't she? Hard to believe that we've only been traveling together for a few months now." She smiles a bit fondly remembering the events that led to her meeting the Princess of Fire. "I actually came across her in one of the ISland's underground caverns. Took her in and have been looking after her since then... She definitely keeps me on my toes~...."

Yeah... There had been a lot of things to figure out, such as no direct physical contact unless you wanted to get burned, try to mind your manners and don't earn the girl's ire... However a big thing though was that FP seemed fascinated with Aqua's knight like behavior and seemed to bond with her even more due to it.

"Sure sounds like it. She IS pretty cute, though." A pause. "It's admirable of you. Taking her in, that is. Not everyone has the guts... or the strength to do it well."

It's clear he means it. His eyes go to his hands, flicking sand from under a nail, then he buzzes his lips and pulls a watch from his suit pocket. Copper - the clock face seems to be carved prehnite, gears barely visible. "Aw, sweet, still working." He blows a kiss to the earth, perhaps for dramatic effect. "Nessa Rose - you rock."

"Yes... She apparently came to this world looking for a friend of hers." Aqua recalled thinking back to her first conversation with the being of flames back in the Geodesic Caverns where she discovered her. She had Blizzarex to thank for finding her since the Ice spitting Yeti tribe down there had found her and thought to use her as a new water source; using their ice breath to fill up their lakes with sheer sheets of ice and asking Flame Princess to melt it down into drinkable water.

She sighs and looks upward. "I... Know the feeling... Two friends of mine are in very difficult position... I... Hoped I could eventually find my way back to them but..."

"I'm stuck here."

He's quiet for a considerable length of time after that. Then, somewhat awkwardly, he clears his throat. "Uh...

"I don't know much about this island yet - just that it exists, I'm safer here than back home, and that characters from all over the place cavort here, whether they like it or not. But I came here intentionally, and I think I could leave that way, too. If you decide to go back home, I think I can help you get there.

"But it IS your choice. Should you ever make it."

... Oy... ....... "Sorry.... I... Didn't mean to make that awkward...... I just.... Got a little nostalgic a moment...." She wipes some tears away... With a sigh, she turns back to Captor, taking in his words with some amount of curiosity. "You.... Think you could really do that? Lots of people have tried to leave the island before, it's usually not been successful."

He chuckles a bit, waving a hand. "S'not awkward. And I'm different! I have a number of incredible things watching over me, aside from being a, self-proclaimed master of loopholes. It'd take a while, but I've never NOT figured this sort of thing out. And I'd at least try! If not for your sake, then for curiosity's."

.............. Aqua let out a sigh. In that expression, Captor could see belief, happiness at the offer, perhaps even some amount of regret... "I... Appreciate it... But now I'm not really sure... I mean, if I found you before now. Before I met Her highness I might've taken you up on that offer in a heartbeat... But... Now? As much as I want to get back and find my friends..."

She looked over to find FP still on the Merry-Go-round, having such a fun time...

"I can't leave her now... Nor could I bring her with me."

Captor doesn't seem dejected at the offer. Or even upset, really. That sympathetic, understanding smile doesn't waver even a bit, and he pats her knee all gentle-like. Doesn't linger on it, for her sake, just a pat and he puts his hand back in his own lap.

"I understand completely. Don't worry about it, okay, Aqua? Like I said, the choice is yours to make, if or when you make it. Just do what feels right."

"Heh... Thank you Mr. Captor."

"Hey Aquaaaa~!"

The two looked to find FP making her way back to them. "I'm done at the Merry-Go-Round!"

"Hehe, I can see that. Did you have fun your highness~?"

There was a chuckle that sounded like one having fun.... Which quickly devolved into an awkward one. "Well... Uh... You see... I was-? Then.... I kinda.... Well... Um...." .... She eventually pointed back at the Merry-Go-Round. When Aqua and Captor looked-

OH MY DEAR GOD.

Some of the horses looked partway melted while the metal bits looked almost molten.

"... I... Might've melted a few of the rides?"

........... OH BOY..........

"I... I guess that makes sense... Due to the spinning, your body must have been feeding on the breeze and started burning a little brighter..." Aqua reasoned... "Still um... MAYBE we should just... Move along." Yes, because she clearly didn't have the money to pay for repairs. Either way, Aqua and FP were quick to get up and get moving.

"..."

He pulls a quarter from his pocket, mumbling something about being Mr. Big Damn Savior again. Whatever the result of the coin flip is, he looks at the merry-go-round, shrugs, mumbles some sort of prayer, and catches up to them a bit briskly. "Ah, hey! Aqua. Do you mind if I head out on my own? I can figure things out, I just figured I shouldn't impede too terribly long. We can trade contact info if you'd like...?"

Aqua and FP looked to the man as he quickly caught up and spoke his piece. They were a little more concerned about getting away before someone could pin the melted Merry Go Round on them, but eh. "O-Of course! It was good to meet you Captor. Until our next meeting!"

"Bye you oddball!"

The two continued powerwalking away. It would've actually been humorous for anyone that knew the prim and proper Aqua to watch her rushing to avoid being blamed for the trouble about to follow.

He watches them go, hands slipping into his pockets with a serene breath out. He spends a moment there, just soaking it in. Then he points in a random direction and walks in it, pretending with impressive conviction that he knows where he's going. And thus do they part.
