Full Name: Cortem Bralee
Nickname(s): Prince of Doom, Cort, Crow, carnageHarbinger
Age: 7.4 sweeps (16 years)
Height: 5' 7"
Weight: 150 lbs.
Gender: Male
Race: Troll
Alliance: Good
Home: Formerly Alternia, then the Land of Thorns and Valleys, then a meteor, now... nowhere in particular
Franchise: DCStuck
Physical Description
Cortem is, for the most part, a fairly average looking troll, with grey skin, messy black hair, yellow eyes with black pupils, and orange striped horns that fan outward into three spikes. Most noticeably, he also has large, bird-like wings with naturally white feathers that he has dyed black with burgundy stripes; these are a permanent feature and cannot be folded away. He usually wears a black tee-shirt with a burgundy Corvus symbol (similar in shape to a crow's foot), ripped black jeans, and burgundy converses. His god tier outfit consists of a green tee-shirt with the doom symbol, poofy, black-trimmed, dark green shorts, dark green fingerless gloves, a green-black hooded cape, a black tiara, long white socks and tan shoes.
Weapons
Though he does possess a knifeKind strife specibus and a wide array of daggers and throwing knives, Cortem utilizes them infrequently in favor of his telekinesis.
Abilities/Powers
Cortem naturally possesses advanced telekinetic abilities, making him able to lift immensely heavy loads and fling objects at incredible velocities using only his mind. He is also able to hear and communicate with the voices of the imminently deceased in his head.
As the Prince of Doom, along with the typical flight and conditional immortality of god tiers, Cortem is able to manipulate fate and death. His inherit knowledge of the inevitable allows him to carry out disruptive actions that could either eliminate the established fate to create a more favorable outcome, or cause the worst, most detrimental outcome to occur. He can also channel his powers into two kinds of energy: One creates concussive blasts that, while not particularly harmful physically, drains the life force of those afflicted; a powerful enough attack will outright kill a person. The other will whittle away the latent doom inside of someone, keeping them alive even if they are an inch from death.
His powers can be utilized in three fraymotifs:
Closer to Hell: Immediately halves the health of all affected targets and inflicts them with a poison debuff that lasts anywhere between thirty seconds to three minutes.
Death Surrounds: Cortem unleashes a shockwave that destroys anything posing an immediate threat to his teammates. Inanimate objects are completely destroyed, living enemies are knocked back and receive serious damage, and anything not perceived as a threat will remain unharmed, if slightly shook up.
Kingdom Come: Transforms Cortem into a grim reaper-like being for a maximum of thirty seconds. In this form, he is surrounded by an aura that decays anything it touches, and he can perform one of three actions per use: completely obliterate a single target, resurrect a dead teammate, or cause a massive explosion via self-detonation (the latter option WILL irreversibly kill him). However, the longer Cortem stays in this form, the more damage he inflicts upon himself.
Weaknesses
Being of the lowest blood class on the hemospectrum, he is the most psychically susceptible, and though he is rather durable regardless, he is not quite as strong as those of higher blood. In keeping with the terms of his conditional immortality, he can be permanently killed if his death is heroic of just.
Skills
Though he hasn't had much time to put this talent to use lately, Cortem is an avid moviemaker. He's good with cinematography, graphic design, set design, writing and directing, but his greatest passion is costumes and special effects makeup. He's great at taking household items and turning them into something new, which he has used to great effect in other fields.
Personality
Cortem is a serious go-getter. If there's an adventure ahead or any kind of event going on, he's not going to idly sit by, nor is he going to let YOU idly sit by. He's here to have fun and make a difference! Of course, his outgoing nature can make him seem somewhat apathetic. He has little tolerance for laziness or cowardice, and he certainly won't stand for injustice, but while he is prone to whipping people into shape, he never does so spitefully. He just wants everyone and everything to be the best they can be, and he will show great respect and kindness for those who express a positive outlook on life and not-so-subtle encouragement for those who don't.
History
Cortem's meteor landed on Alternia prior to the events of their Sgrub session, where he was adopted by his crow lusus. Together they lived a fairly simple life, with Cortem honing his skills as an aspiring filmmaker, embarking on various explorations, and meeting his friends and fellow future players via Trollian.
Upon escaping Alternia's destruction and arriving in the Medium, their session went about fairly well, with Cortem prototyping his sprite with his lusus prior to entry. Partway through the game, however, Cortem's dream self was killed by a Dersite spy, and at the insistence of the voices in his head, he used his dead dream self to prototype his sprite a second time. Things continued to progress normally until the game was completed, after which the team set up home in a meteor base. When they discovered the human players of a Sburb session, Cortem happily chatted with them, spending most of his time being generally chummy and trying to get Evan to stop wallowing in self-pity.
Eventually, most of his friends departed, prompting Cortem to leave the meteor too and pursue a new adventure, as well as A... certain troll he happens to have flushed feelings for. Along the way, however, he crossed paths with Clockwork and stopped him from killing said troll, resulting in Cortem being mortally wounded. His sprite found him bleeding out in the void and brought him back to LOTAV, where he died on his quest cocoon and was resurrected as a god tier fusion of his dream self and his crow lusus. Now, with his newfound powers (and after dying his wings black and red because "White wings? Really?"), Cortem has set out once again, unknowingly beginning his trek to the island...
