Bloodstone just chuckled a bit as the battle continued on. "Must not've gotten what I was offerin'. Oh well."
Throwing her blade and creating another, Bloodstone jumped back into the fray when Aquamarine slammed down, a flash of blades cutting down the shadowy monsters. "I've got your back, Garnet!" She stayed close to the tall woman, working to do as she did. Thinning the crowd with her agility and fierce strikes.
She did take a moment to shout to the others. "If you get hurt, get over to me; I can patch you up!"

Toby nodded down to Aether. He trusted her judgment, though he still had to hope that she knew what she was doing. "Don't be afraid to holler if you need outta there. Now, uh... brace yourself."
As the Præt'nos converged upon their small group, Toby waved his arms outward in wide arcs, parting the sea of blackness and pinning a large number of the demons against the walls. Immediately following this, he swept Aether up on a wave of shadows, launching her well over the darkness's reach and towards an awning on the building where Carol was still squaring off against Choleric.
Once she was off, Toby quickly resumed his battle stance, clashing his shadows against the Præt'nos' and dodging rogue tendrils, all the while shooting Andromeda a look over his shoulder. "Do whatcha gotta do! I've got ya covered!"
Of course, the moment he said that, a Præt'nos smacked him upside the head and into a wall, prompting Toby to mutter a frustrated "OUCH."
----------
Slowly... carefully... Choleric might not have been the patient type, but he was certainly crafty. Understanding the vigor of his opponent, he understood that he needed an equally cunning approach. The silvery glow filled the alley as Choleric's shadows surrounded Carol's white hot aura, just close enough to not be burned away. He still had a tendril wrapped firmly around her shadow, ready to yank her into his waiting grasp.
He pulled... but the woman moved in sync...
"HRK-!!!"
Carol's hand wrapped around Choleric's throat, pressing down painfully on the soft flesh of his neck. Unable to halt his momentum, he involuntarily completed his yank, only succeeding in pulling himself into the bubble of twilight with her. Immediately, the harsh light within started to eat away at his shadowy form like acid. His efforts to dissolve into shadow proved fruitless, as the pressure on his neck left him rigid to his very core. His physical form grew fuzzy and distorted while his mind slowly started to come unhinged, but he refused to come undone completely.
What Carol said barely registered with the Fire General. If he was going down, he wasn't going down without a fight.
A single shadow tendril lashed out, striking Carol across the cheek sharply enough to draw blood.
"INUNDATE MANEUVER NS-1!!! CODE ORANGE!!! CLEAN SWEEP!!! APPREHEND TARGET ALIVE OR D-!!!"

"Adequately braced," Aether replied, poised and ready to be hurled. She exchanged nods with an ever-unnerved Andromeda before Toby's shadows swept her off her feet.
As she was propelled through the open air, Aether positioned herself like a cat in free-fall, landing comfortably on an awning. The building she was perched on had been sufficiently quelled of any flames, allowing her to leap atop it to a vantage point above Choleric and Carol's little sphere of twilight. If she could just get past the shadows and into the light...
In the meantime, Andromeda nodded to Toby and anxiously pondered what –if anything– she could do to help, only to jump in horror when he was swatted aside. Without a second thought, she scrambled over to Toby to make sure he was okay, quickly finding herself surrounded by Præt'nos and scooped up into one's clawed grip. Eyes wide and scrambling in panic, Andromeda wrenched an arm free, raised her hand to the beast and gathered all the light she had left inside her, generating only a few measly sparkles.
"Cute."
The Præt'nos retaliated by throwing Andromeda into the writhing mass of darkness. Acting quickly and in fluid motion, the Peaceful Warrior grabbed onto a lamp post as she sailed past, swinging around, kicking her shoes off her prehensile feet, and scrambling atop the street light. From there, she surveyed the street below, shaking in terror, knowing she was still well within harm's way.
