While she had to admit that she tended to prefer a nice car over a motorcycle, Bayonetta could completely understand why Jeanne was so fond of them. There was a certain thrill to the roar of the cycle's engine, and the wind in one's hair.
Still, while the increasing temperatures didn't bother her, she wasn't so certain that her travel companions were the same way. Especially the papery Italian man.
Revving the engine, Bayonetta began to ride along a rather narrow path between a few of the islands above the Hellhole, glancing at the demons around them... indeed, as she'd expected, this place was very close to her own Inferno.
Which likely meant the man she was searching for could be found here.

Papyrus's eyes were bugged out the entire time they were driving along, staring at every scary new face they found heading deeper under. He was freaking out enough when they took the motorcycle into a cave heading deeper downward- the odd batch of Ocean floating overhead and the strange, magma induced world swirling under the island really made him rethink this whole Endeavor.
Paper Mario, on the other hand, watched the world around him, his flat body lightly wiggling in the breeze. He wasn't overly effected, staying rooted to his seat on the cycle, but the passing embers certainly made him think of Bowser's Castle.

Bayonetta continued on a while before parking the motorcycle on a plateau, stepping off and looking around. "Hmm. Well then, boys, I believe this is our stop. If I can sense the energy that I think I do, our man is further in. Shall we?"

Papyrus looked around, not entirely sure how to feel about all of this. "Yeah! Let's-a go!" Mario cheered, jumping up and down as he looked about. Papyrus quickly cleared his throat, then smiled big.
"NYEH HEH HEH HEH! YES, WE SHALL! THIS LAND OF FIRE AND SMOKE WILL BE NOTHING COMPARED TO THE MANY DANGEROUS FEATS THAT I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, HAVE DONE IN THE PAST!" Mario looked toward the skeleton, giving him a gentle 'oooh' in amazement.

Bayonetta smirked, giving Papyrus a little clap. "I see. Well then, I trust you have my back, 'Great Papyrus'?
The witch chuckled, making her way along the path in that strut of a walk she had. "Come along, boys. And stay close. There's all sorts of nasties that would make their home around here."
As they walked, a light began to fill the area; one not wrought of the flames. Bayonetta scoffed. "Well then..."
"Yet again, I feel like a fucking celebrity..."
A group of white-and-gold clad creatures with feathery wings and odd spear-like weapons began to come down from on high... though, slightly surprisingly to the witch, they were visible right away. "...Seems like I don't need to go into Purgatorio to fight them here... good to know."
"...Oh, boys~!" Bayonetta leaned to the side a bit, in a rather teasing pose, leaning forward, blowing a kiss to the oncoming angels. "Did you miss me~?"
...They readied their weapons, and Bayonetta stood fully, guns at the ready. She gestured towards them, then to herself with one of the guns.
"...Let's dance, boys!"
As the angels screeched at the three, Bayonetta jumped towards them, laughing, her guns blazing.

Papyrus's jaw nearly fell off his skull, unsure what to make of these things. "WH-WHAT ARE THOSE???" he asked.
"If I'm-a not mistaken," Mario offered, looking over them. "Those are angels... though I don't think they'd be attacking innocents..." He slyly eyed Bayonetta, than smiled. "Eh, I don't have the best-a track record myself." He pulled out his hammer, ready to assist. Papyrus still looked a bit shocked on what to do, but soon grinned, summoning bones and sending them at his foes.
The demonic entities of the hell hole hid in fear, not interested in what those angels had to say.

Bayonetta was having the time of her life; after jumping up, she spun around in the air... the gun on her right heel blazing, shooting the angels that surrounded her. As another swung its spear at her, she burst into a swarm of bats... then reformed into herself, latching her legs around the Affinity, spinning around and slamming it headfirst into the ground, it exploding in a bloody manner, Halos dropping from it. Bayonetta picked a few up, spinning them around a finger. "Hmhmh. Mario's right. These are indeed angels..."
Another trio of angels swooped down, before getting clocked by the bones Papyrus sent their way; they turned to face the witch's friends, several of them damaged to the point where the more creepy organic aspects of their bodies underneath their regal armor were visible.
"...But they're hardly benevolent. That's why I don't feel bad doing this!"
With that, she took a step, hopping forward before kicking out... a lot of her clothing vanishing, leaving her in a bikini-like outfit as Madama Butterfly's heel launched through a portal behind her, splattering the trio with a powerful kick. "They also tend to come in large groups... and it seems they've blocked off our path, which must mean we're going the right way. Now then, shall we clean up? Be sure to grab the rings they drop; those Halos are valuable when making transactions with Infernals."

Mario looked, seeing the rings glimmer a bit before his vision of them became coins. He soon charged toward one, thwacking it in the head as Papyrus tripped it up. One brandished its weapon, soon realizing the mistake it made when it swung at Mario, missing when he folded out of the way.
The pair soon whent for another attack together, slamming the angels down in near record time as more of the rings burst into existence.

"Ahaha~ That's the spirit!" Bayonetta grinned as a whole group of angels attempted to spear her... sliding underneath on her knees. For her, everything seemed to slow down. "So close~"
Witch Time made it easy for her to unleash a powerful kick combo, stomping down for a Wicked Weave; to Mario and Papyrus, they'd see the spears coming towards Bayonetta one moment, and the next, she was outside of the angel circle, Madama Butterfly's heel stomping them down.
"Seems there's not much left now. Keep it up!"

Noticing some of the angels trying to fly away, Papyrus smiled, unleashing a powerful, mysterious energy. Every last one of the airborn beasts tumbled to the ground, Paper Mario taking the opportunity to jump in and start repeatedly stomping on one of them. "NYEH HEH HEH! NOTHING CAN RESIST THE MAJESTY OF MY BLUE ATTACK!" he cheered. He proceeded to launch several bones their way, many of them getting stamped and trampled in the process.

"Excellent!"
With the angels forced to the ground, turned blue, Bayonetta was able to move in. She threw a few jabs, firing her guns... then began to unleash a flurry of punches, pulling back with her clothes turning to the bikini-like outfit... then punched. "Get out!"
Madama Butterfly's fist flew through a portal with the Wicked Weave, and as the angels exploded in a shower of meat and light, everything seemed to stop for a few seconds as what sounded like a camera went off a few times.
Standing up, Bayonetta smirked. "Now then, boys..."
She blew a kiss at the angelic barrier that had appeared when the angels attacked them, and the heart struck it, shattering it with red hands grabbing at the shards of light, pulling them through a red portal.
"...Shall we?"
She began to walk down the path again, and a little further down, a familiar voice, deep, called out.
"Heh. You still got it, Bayonetta."
With a small smirk, a tall black man wearing sunglasses and a trenchcoat stepped into view.
"Somehow I knew I'd find you here, Rodin. Tell me, have you known about this place?"
Rodin chuckled. "Here an' there, I've heard about a weird-ass island in the middle of nowhere, yeah. Never really came here myself, though. Still, wasn't too hard to get here. Just gotta know where to look. So. Who's your new friends?"

"GREETINGS SIR!" Papyrus happily smiled. "I AM THE GREAT PAPYRUS, AND IT'S WONDERFUL TO MEET YOU!"
"And I'mma Mario!" the papery plumber greeted. The soul fact this paper man wasn't burning to ashes in this pit of blazing flames was a miracle to be questioned... "So, you're Mr. Rodin? Bayonetta thinks you can-a help me with something..."

Rodin pulled a cigar out of his coat pocket, a purple flame lighting it. Taking a drag on it, he looked the skeleton man and the paper man over. "...Bayonetta, you always find the weirdest people. Alright. If she suggested me to help ya, Mario, then it's probably important. What's goin' on?"
Bayonetta chuckled, adjusting her glasses. "A special weapon of sorts of his was broken when he was attacked by some odd shadow creatures. I intend to look into that, but it simply wouldn't do for him to be weaponless, wouldn't you agree?"
While his expression didn't visibly change, Rodin nodded slightly. "Lemme take a look at the thing and I'll see what I can do."

He held up the unfoldable hammer, stuck in box form at the moment, and the leftover crumbs from one of his attacks- it just looked like cardboard, but it seemed to have all the fixings for something to make a videogame with. "...Well, this is it..."
Papyrus watched, unsure himself of what was going on at the moment. "ARE YOU ABLE TO DO ANYTHING WITH THIS, MR. RODIN?"

Rodin took the cardboard box, looking it over.
"...Well, it sure as hell ain't normal cardboard. That in and of itself means that I'd have a better chance of getting this to work, but I can't promise anythin'. I'll see what I can do, a'right? I'll get in touch with Bayonetta when I've either fixed it or figured out that I can't."
"Excellent work as always, Rodin. I trust that we'll be able to access the Gates of Hell from this island?"
"Sure can. Just look for the red portals like before."
