Gamble Shroud is classified as a VBCS or Variant Ballistic Chain Scythe.
Gambol Shroud has a thick, gray sheath with a sharp edge, similar to that of an oversized cleaver. Although serving as a sheath, it does possess a cutting edge and can be used effectively as a weapon. Gambol Shroud, when unsheathed, appears to be a dark gray katana and is equally as effective as, if not more than, its sheath. Blake typically carries this duo on a magnetic sheet of metal strapped to her back.
The essence of the two weapon components is that they fit together as one, but come apart to be two, so that they are compact for easier carrying. When in sheathed form, Gambol Shroud is held by the hilt, but when the two components separate, the sheath is held by a small rectangular hole near the top. The katana also has a compact, striker fired pistol built into its hilt.
Gamble Shroud can also work as a grappling hook when needed. The Ribbon can work as a slingshot as well(see episode Players and Pieces)
Abilities/Powers
Night vision- she's a faunus
'Shadow'- Think of this like a cross between the well known shadow clone jutsu and the Time player's doomed selves. Can be effected by dust as seen in the episode 'No Breaks'
Weaknesses
Not the strongest defenses and has a habit of running
Loud noises do cause her to jump rather badly
And thanks to the cat part of her Faunus heritage- Laser Pointers, Tuna, and Catnip are easy distractions.
Skills
Swordsmanship, keen shot, can and usually does land on her feet much like a cat, is great with stealth
Knits on occasion
Personality
Blake is reserved and usually quiet as she observes those around her.
Usually caught with a book in hand, this Faunus will act aloof much like her animal counterparts. Once she warms up to those she meets, she will care for them. Beware Momma Cat Mode- she took on the role of Team Mom in Yang's absence.
History
Like that of the others in her team, her time-line lines up until the events after Breach.
A calm afternoon of studying in the library with Glynda watching them turned sour when Yang never returned from retrieving a book for a report.
Blake was in a similar boat to Ruby seeing as Yang was her partner and one of the first humans she came to trust. It took a while for Blake to come around to both of her remaining teammates and ask for help and comfort. A request they both willingly obliged.
During the next few months, Blake would grow closer to Ruby and Weiss and had thrown herself in harms way to protect them. One of these attempts to protect, her bow was destroyed revealing she was a Faunus to the school and faculty. Needless to say Team CRDL was sent to the infirmary after this instance. Most took the news in stride and kept talking to her. A few people were offended and shut her out. Ruby and Weiss stood by her and would return the favor several times over.
Being a three woman team, they did try replacement members for Yang but none were right. Come the Vytal Festival. they had to sit out. And this is where the crap hit the fan and Cinder's plan really started to show. The Battle of Beacon was bloody and Grimm soon flooded the area. This is where Ruby would loose an eye and that would drive Blake into a second round of burning at both ends. Only this time, Weiss would join in the hunting down of who would later be known as the Black Queen's Bishop. The pair would get their catch and she would be brought to justice.
Blake would be caught off guard when a letter from the Schnee Dust Company offering a job as a body guard for Weiss after she had finished her schooling and Ruby had returned to school and work. The letter would remain unanswered until the day Ruby sent the message of 'Be back soon. Going to check that place.' She and Weiss headed back to the library where all their trouble began only to see the tail end of Ruby's cloak disappearing into what looked like a silver rip in reality. Weiss grabbed the cloak and followed in and Blake shortly after.
The only thought on the cat Faunus' mind was 'Hopefully Yang won't be too mad at me for what has happened to Ruby...'
Other
Blake has a few scars on her arms from the Battle of Beacon and makes an effort to cover them up.
