History
Born and raised in Remnant, Sky is more than proud of his heritage. Being the son of two well known Hunters, he is happy to be following in their footsteps.
His story begins much earlier though. Sky was born to Beacon graduates- Alex and Yang Xiao Long, the former taking his wife's last name. His childhood was relatively tame as it could be for a kid on Remnant with 7 aunts(Ruby, Blake, Weiss, Beth, Erin, Pyrrha, Nora) and 3 uncles(Jaune(yes he survived Beacon), Ren, Todd) all of which are very well known Hunters. He spent his first few years playing with other kids in the area that his parents had settled down.
When he turned seven, his semblance kicked in for the first time after a bully decided to pick on a friend of his that was a Tiger Faunus. Needless to say he learned something that his parents swore him to never tell- His dad was a legit god, specifically the Thief of Void.
Alex, being the resourceful man he is, told Sky that every few thousand years deities that keep an eye on the humans and Faunus(Blake was in earshot) of Remnant decide to take mortal forms and live among them and given how old he and his team were when they dropped onto the world in Vacuos- the quartet were sent to a local academy. Then Alex continued the story as Sky watched in amazement. Sky learned that his parents soon met during his mother's second year at Beacon and that the two teams (BATE and RWBY) did not get along and that JNPR would run interference when needed until the teams were sent on a series of missions. The pair of teams kept fighting until they found themselves on 3 missions together. Soon the 8 were “thick as Thieves”(Yes Yang interjected the pun) and considered each other family. Sky had stars in his eyes when his father finished telling him the tale.
Sky would happily grow up knowing he was a little more than human as he went to Sigil and graduated with decent grades. Unbeknownst to his parents, he appiled to Beacon. He was hoping to get the mail before either of them the day his acceptance letter arrived. His face paled when he saw Alex reading it and then passing it to his mother. The teen soon explained his reasons for applying without telling them as he wanted to make the pair proud. Alex simply gave him a talk along the lines of 'You really should have told us earlier on. We could have helped you find the required paper works.' before Yang hugged the boy out of sheer joy. The three of them were soon getting Sky ready for Beacon.
Sky was soon off to Beacon. He hung back in the group of new students. He was mentally thanking his father for being a deity of void and stealth as Ozpin spoke to the crowd of faces. The night before initiation was quiet for Sky as he observed the other students. A few of the girls would stop and look at him before getting herded to the girl's side of the large hall.
The next day was his initiation and when the group went out to the cliff overlooking the Emerald Forest, Goodwitch actually got a good look at Sky and said what is quoted up in his nickname section. The new students were launched and the initiation was started. Sky was hoping for a partner that he could trust as he was starting to land. He, unlike his mother and her team, was not a dick to the trees by breaking, slashing, or catching fire to them. Another had landed of the base that he had landed in. Sky sighed before climbing down. Much to his surprise it was his Faunus friend from 10 years earlier and he had a smug look on their face.
The pair would soon meet up with another pair of Faunus(a female Fox and a male Wolf) and without thinking both teams picked the same artifact- a carved onyx wolf figurine (all artifacts were creatures carved from different gems). The rest of their initiation was relatively quiet if not for a few Beowulf and Ursa attacks on the quartet, in which Sky made plans and took suggestions from his group members.
He gave a soft smile as his team was introduced to the school. “Sky Xiao Long, Lila Neos, Shiro Tora, Russell Sirius. Team SLSR(Slicer) under the leadership of Sky Xiao Long. May the school still stand after they leave.” this got several weird looks from other students with Lila and Russell looking to him slightly confused. Sky just chuckled as he lead them off the stage. Shiro just looked proud of himself.
Lila and Russell would soon realize why Ozpin said what he did when Sky mentioned who his parents were. Shiro was chuckling about Russell's reaction more than Lila's since the wolf fainted onto a bed. Sky chuckled at the scene before heading to a bed on the far side of the room. Lila took the one closest to the team wash room. Shiro happily crashed next to his partner.
The first semester turned out to be uneventful as the quartet grew close. When out of their first mission(investigate a weird anomaly in the Emerald Forest) at the beginning of their second semester, Sky got separated from the rest of the group and fell into a hole with a portal at the bottom just as the other three were to find him. This portal would allow him to tumble out onto the streets of Void City.
Other
Can and will pull the '[insert name] is in sweater town' thing though with vests instead.
Has almost as bad of a punning streak as his mother
Hex code is C8A2C8
Alex was leader of Team BATE, despite Beth being listed first.
Also not sure if Sky would have any siblings so leaving that open to Gantz's digression.
Gantz also has full permission to use Sky as well.
