"I hate to inform you but I have no need for a bribe to keep my mouth shut, Mr. Goldwyn. You're not in your home world. You're wasted in my shop- Dreams To Dust," she offered as she crossed her arms. Her voice becoming stern and cross. "And considering that amount in your hand. I say you're well off. Also I'm not from your world."
She hoped the last bit sunk in for him.

"Oh, well alright then!" Sam muttered as if appalled by Beth's ungratefulness, stuffing his money back in his wallet before slipping off his scarf. "But I have your name and your shop's name. If I start seeing news reports about this, I'll know where to-"
He suddenly spun around on his heel, staring at Beth with vacant confusion. "Wait, you said I'm not in the World?"

Sam could see the woman smirking. "Welcome, Mr. Goldwyn, to Nexus Island. And even more so, welcome to the El Grande Mall in Void City," she offered in a matter of factly voice. She sighed and turned to the boxes. "Do you need your clothing washed?"
Most would have done a double take at the turn around as Beth pulled another outfit and wig for herself. She waited for Sam's answer as lyrics played in her mind.

For the longest time, Sam just stood there and stared at Beth, his scarf slipping out of his paw and onto the floor. On top of his hangover, he seemed on the verge of panic, eyes wide and mouth pursed in a look that silently screamed "WHAT DID I DO LAST NIGHT?"
"Um... Sure. Thanks," Sam replied before slipping his shirt off. "No scented fabric softener. It irritates my skin. But don't skimp on the softener either. Static. No one wants that."
So... on the bright side, given the unfamiliar environment, he was likely far enough from Metropolis that no one would know what he was up to. At least no one important. His absence would probably raise some questions, but that was nothing he couldn't bribe talk his way out of. More importantly, though, it was slowly dawning on him that this woman was messing with him. How could he have wound up on another world? And what kind of stupid name was Nexus Island for an entire world? It was just as stupid as it was made up. Stupid made-up fakey-fake dumb.
"Now then..." Sam turned on the shower, letting the water warm up as he disrobed in privacy. "Once we're finished up here, perhaps you would be so kind as to point me towards the nearest route to Metropolis."

Beth sighed. "Metropolis? You mean the city where Superman is from? Hate to break it to you, Sam, but I have no clue where you're from," Beth offered as she accepted the shirt. This time it was an honest tone. She didn't even want to start in on the fact his bond was flailing like a fish out of water.
"I'm from Chicago myself," she offered as she looked at the crest of Sam's shirt.

"Who the frig is Superman?" Sam questioned bluntly but honestly. "I'm talking 'bout the largest city in Unity! You seriously don't know where Metropolis is?!"
He reached an arm out from behind the curtain to toss Beth his pants, then fully retreated into the shower. "Okay, in all fairness, I don't know where 'Chicago' is. That in Not-China? Heheh... Chee-CAH-goh!" he guffawed in a stereotypical Asian accent.

"United States of America thank you very much," Beth replied bluntly. And here I thought today was going got be a normal day, she thought as she caught the pants.
She soon put a black shirt with a gold Gemini symbol and a pair of black pants next to the shower. "Still have to wash yours so replacements are next to the shower," she offered before going to clean up the shop and her self.
Sam could hear Mumford And Sons' "Little Lion Man" playing over head and a female voice singing along.

"America...?" Sam repeated under his breath. What kind of stupid name was that? This woman sure was dedicated to pulling his leg.
Whatever. At least she was helping him. Now was the time to take what he could get. He could at least appreciate the shower; the hot water was soothing to his aching muscles and the steam cleared out his head. Hopefully he'd soon be feeling well enough to come up with an appropriate course of action.
His ears flattened and his face twisted into a scowl when an old familiar song started playing. "Oh, ha ha! Haven't heard THAT ONE BEFORE!"

"I have no control over the shuffle in the playlist," Beth offered as she went to dispose of the offending vomit waste. She had yet to change her clothing still.
"So in Metropolis is there a street called Broadway where lots of musicals and plays happen?" She asked as she unceremoniously dumped the bucket of gunk in the trash. "I'll get it before the end of the day."

"Well, there is a Theater Street, if that's what you're talking about," Sam replied from under the cascade of hot water. "Can't say I've seen a show there... or really explored much of the city. ...Or at least what's left of it."

Beth nodded. "And yet you live there? Sounds like New York City from my home," She offered.

"Well, I'm a Beverlywood guy, actually," Sam continued. "I just recently moved to Metropolis for... let's say political and economic reasons, as if those two aren't the same thing. Heheh."

Beth raised an eyebrow. "Beverlywood. Sounds like a mix of Beverly Hills and Hollywood," she offered. "Well i told you where the borrowing clothes are so I'm going to go get changed. And, Sam, if you really do need to puke. For the love of Skaia- do it in a trash can."

"I'm feeling much better, thank you," Sam responded flatly. "But yeah. Thanks."
So it looked like he'd be hanging around here for a while. There were probably worse situations to be in, all things considered. Once his clothes were clean, all that was left to do was figure out how to get back to his smoldering wreck of a city. Easy. ...Right?
"Ahem... Do you have a blow dryer?"

Beth pointed to one such object sitting on a table with some paints and what looked like clay debris.
"I will be back shortly," she offered before heading into a changing room.
