"Welcome to essentially a cross roads where all planes mix and mingle. The island just kinda pulls people here at random. The woman now walking in and looks pissed. She's from a world called Remnant. And now I have to play mute," Beth quickly answered before typing something on her device. 'Ask questions to 86-393-2959. That's this device's number.'
"You!" The blonde brawler shouted looking at Beth.

"Okay, but that doesn't really explain why I'm here!" Sam snapped. "'Oh, it pulls people in at random!' Yeah, well, there's gotta be more reason than that! I can't just lie down and accept this universe's supposed randomness! I have to go home! I'm kind of a big deal!"

"You realize Ice Cream is mute right?" The blonde commented to the yelling lion.
'Do we have to do this again? I am on the clock, Miss Xiao Long,' Beth typed out.
"You work here? What did you have to do to convince the owner to let you of all people work here?"
'You do realize the Torchwick wasn't the greatest employer right?' was Beth's reply with a sigh.
Yang looked to Sam. "Maybe the island thought you were needed here more than in your home world. Heck it could have prolonged your life for all you know," she offered before glancing at Beth's message.

"Excuse me, but we were right in the middle of a conversation, thank you very much," Sam stated as if to discredit Yang. He pointed at her and added, "And I'll have you know that I have a significant position of power back home, so I fail to see how anything this world has sucked me into could be any more important than-"
His finger drooped like a deflating balloon. Prolong his life? ...How would she know that?
In a slightly calmer tone, Sam continued, "Look, I've been down that road enough times to keep my bull honkey radar on high alert. You better not be screwing with me. I'm serious about my position."

Beth quietly watched.
"That had to be a rather one sided conversation. But yeah. I've seen people be pulled here seconds before Death gets them," Yang offered. "Ice Cream here would be an example of the latter."
Beth stuck her tongue out and typed once more. 'She isn't wrong,' was the message.

"Well, I wasn't in any danger," Sam argued. Granted, last night was one giant blur, but he was at least certain of that much. "I don't have any business here, and if I don't get home soon, the whole dang city of Metropolis is going to fall apart AGAIN. So if you don't mind, I kinda need to GO."

'See you when you pick up your clothing,' Beth typed.
"Nothing is stopping you from going," Yang noted.

"Right. Nothing except the fact that I don't know how to get out of here," Sam muttered, ears flat and eyes casting a deadpan scowl at into space.

Beth sighed. 'Let me finish dealing with Yang and then I'll show you around. Okay?' She offered via text.
"Or I could since Ice Cream is on duty for the shop," the blonde offered.
'The name is Neapolitan. Nea for short, Yang.'
The woman took a quick look down. "Fair."

"Whatever it takes to get me home with my dignity intact, I'll take it," Sam grumbled dejectedly before sighing. "Though I suppose I can at least wait until my clothes are clean. After that, if someone would be kind enough to escort me out, that would be greatly appreciated."

"Well. Would ask if you're wanting something to eat," Yang offered. "The food court isn't that far away."
Beth remained quiet for a bit. I want to beat the snot out of Yang right now.... she thought.

"I suppose some breakfast would be a good idea..." Sam murmured, not even giving two craps about what time it probably was. He had just woken up. That meant it was breakfast time.
Breakfast time...
Ugh...
At least he was away from HER.
He took a deep breath and nodded to Yang. "Alright."

'Have fun' Beth typed out. She sent a separate message to Yang reading- 'I take you're assumption that I am actually Neo as a compliment.'
Yang nodded. "This way then," she offered heading out of the shop. Yang didn't even care to look at her messages.

Sam nodded once to Beth before following Yang out, paws in his pockets and eyes staring ahead with little emotion. As if the awkward wake-up call wasn't enough, he got the feeling that today was going to be a long day.
"So... Yang, was it? Sam Goldwyn."

"Yang Xiao Long," the woman offered with a smile. "Former resident of Remnant. And I've been stuck here for a while..."
