Full Name: Second Prince Corrin of Hoshido
Nickname(s): Cor, Cory
Age: 18
Height: ?, on the tall side
Weight: ?, average weight for his height
Gender: Male
Race: Manakete
Alliance: Grimly Heroic
Home: Hoshido
Franchise: Fire Emblem (Fates)
Physical Description
Corrin is a somewhat tall young man with pale skin, red eyes, and white hair. His hair is kind of messy and reaches about to his neck in length. His bangs are also kind of unkempt but manage to fall just between his eyes, not obscuring his vision. His ears are pointed at the tips instead of smooth as well.
The armor that Corrin wears is somewhat unusual in design. It is a series of white plates that turn black in the middle, with more white plates going down to his thighs. He does not wear shoes, instead having a strap under his arch, connected to the armor over his feet, and wears a black shirt underneath his armor, which goes totally over his hands. Fastened to his chestplate by a pin, Corrin wears a light blue cape.
As a dragon, Corrin’s appearance mimics his armor, being mostly white with black stripes. He has a long neck, and wings, though his head has something more akin to antlers than traditional horns. His ‘feet’ are also more like elongated knuckles.
Weapons and Accessories
Corrin’s weapon of choice is the Yato blade, a mythical sword that has great power. On its own, it isn’t anything special beyond its appearance, but it is capable of resonating with other legendary weapons and gaining power. Prior to his arrival, it was in its Alpha form, but it was reverted as he arrived.
He also has a Dragonstone that was given to him by Azura, which he can use to transform into a dragon. In this form, Corrin is slower, but bigger and stronger, attacking magically.
Thanks to his Dragon Fang ability, Corrin can partially transform parts of his body, such as a hand into a set of jaws or a spear, or his cape into wings. This makes his attacks more potent, and he can even shoot orbs of water from the jaws.
Corrin also has a Sun Festal, a Hoshidan healing rod of medium power, in his possession, though he lost the ability to use it.
Abilities/Powers
Covered above, Corrin can transform, either fully or partially, through the use of his Dragonstone or Dragon Fang, respectively. He did, prior to arriving at the Island, have the ability to use healing staves and rods due to his Hoshido Noble class, but was reverted upon arrival and lost that power.
Finally, he is also capable, like the other nobles of Hoshido and Nohr, of utilizing areas of power known as Dragon Veins. While this power is much weaker outside of his native world, Corrin can, in certain places, affect the environment in various ways.
Corrin has a few skills he can use in combat. His encouraging nature manifests in the form of his Personal Skill, Supportive. Its effect is as follows: “If paired with a support C+ attacker, grants Hit +10, +2 dmg dealt, and -2 dmg taken.” He encourages a close ally into fighting harder than normal.
Due to his dragon blood, Corrin is capable of partially transforming, empowering his strikes through the power of ‘Dragon Fang’. Its effect is as follows: “(Skill x 0.75) chance of adding 50% more damage.” Through the use of his draconic body, Corrin can make his attacks hit that much harder; this also has out of combat applications for his mobility, as well.
Corrin’s remaining skill, Swordfaire, is much simpler. Its effect is as follows: “+5 Damage while a Sword/Katana is equipped.” Corrin’s skill at swordfighting is manifested through this ability, and it makes his blows with swords that much more powerful.
Weaknesses
Being of dragon blood, Corrin is very vulnerable to dragonslaying effects, such as specialized magic or his own world’s Wyrmslayers.
Skills
Corrin is a fairly good tactician, especially when it comes to improvising short-term; as such, he has some skill in shogi, though his games against Takumi were fairly even, mostly due to him trying to lose as few pieces as possible. He’s also gotten decent at chess.
He’s also a fairly decent cook (at least, after getting a lot of lessons). He knows traditional Hoshidan style pretty well, though he personally will often make food Spicy. He can’t brew a pot of tea to save his life, either.
Finally, he is quite agile, and is good at taking advantage of even the smallest slips in an opponent’s stance, brought about from his training with Ryoma.
Personality
Corrin is a warmhearted young man, with a strong sense of justice and fierce devotion to his loved ones. He is the kind of person who won’t turn his back on someone in need, and he is the kind of person who enjoys getting to know others better. He’s kind of naive given his backstory, and his experiences in Hoshido didn’t really change that much. He has a great disdain for cruelty and won’t hesitate to try and stop it.
Compared to his ‘twin sister’ Corrinne, Corrin is more optimistic and idealistic. He is fairly trusting and will often view a glass as half-full. While this makes him more approachable compared to her, he’s also easier to take advantage of as a result. He also isn’t fond of war; he tries to avoid unnecessary bloodshed, though also has no qualms about using that kind of force if he believes it’s necessary.
History
Corrin grew up in the kingdom of Nohr, living in a secluded castle on the border. His life was relatively boring and he was constantly curious about the outside world, to the point where he had compiled a rather large list of things he wanted to see with his friend, Silas.
Eventually, however, after he came of age, Corrin was brought from the castle to the capital of Nohr, where his father, Garon, had him start going on missions for him, against the army of the neighboring kingdom of Hoshido. When an assassin knocked one of his aides, Gunter, into a chasm and forced a fight with the Hoshidans there, Corrin was taken captive, and brought to Hoshido, where he learned that he was actually Hoshidan by blood.
He spent some time in the kingdom, getting to know his blood siblings and his mother, Mikoto. When attending a festival, however, disaster struck, and Mikoto was killed shielding him from an assassin’s strike. Losing control over himself, Corrin transformed into a dragon, and the group fought off attackers in the square. With some help from Azura, Corrin was able to revert back to human form, and obtained a Dragonstone from her to keep the draconic side in check. Afterward, Corrin marched out with Ryoma and the others to a battlefield… where he had to make a choice.
Would he fight with his blood family, or the family he’d lived with all his life?
...He chose his blood family.
At the Branch of Fate, Corrin sided with Hoshido, and after fending off his siblings from Nohr, began a campaign to march into Nohr and kill Garon, who they believed to be the source of the mess plaguing them. Armed with the Yato blade, the group traveled through Hoshido into Nohr, Corrin gaining strength as they went. Eventually, his weapon resonated with Takumi’s Fujin Yumi and, prior to the fight with Garon, Ryoma’s Raijinto, and ultimately became the Blazing Yato. Despite the difficulty, they ultimately prevailed, and struck Garon down… though not at a cost.
Azura vanished into water from overuse of her powers afterwards, leaving Corrin despondent. Still, peace had prevailed. Despite the deaths of Xander and Elise, Nohr would also recover. Peace was there to stay.
Or was it?
As if waking from a dream, Corrin would awaken again in his bed in the fortress… an odd haze of sorts. Things went much like before, with one exception… when they arrived at the festival and Mikoto was killed, another dragon appeared. After reverting, it was revealed to be a girl… who looked much like him. Corrinne, as she came to be called, apparently was Corrin’s twin… still, it seemed extremely strange to him. When the Branch of Fate happened this time… again, Corrin chose Hoshido, and the Yato blade went with him. Corrinne, however, went to Nohr. Much like before, things felt… oddly similar to Corrin. When he battled against his Nohrian siblings, Corrinne was there… and again, disaster struck. Elise was struck down by Xander’s blade, trying to make them stop fighting… and again, Xander died at Corrin’s hands.
This time, however… Corrinne took up Siegfried, and the two fought. In the end, however… Corrin refused to kill her. Corrinne thrust the blade through her chest. Again, Garon was defeated, and again, peace came back…
So it seemed, at least.
This time, Corrin awoke… not in the fortress, but in the border lands between Hoshido and Nohr. Confused and rather frightened, Corrin stumbled his way through the wilderness for a time, eventually nearing Hoshido. The stress and fear had already taken its toll on him, however, and at the time when the festival incident happened, Corrin had been overtaken by his dragon form. This time, he was not chosen by Yato, and Corrinne had. She went with Nohr again, and he with Hoshido.
Training using a set of Katanas and learning to use staves, Corrin fought alongside his siblings where he could, but they were defeated constantly, forced back to the castle in Hoshido’s capital. He’d believed Hinoka and Takumi already dead… and he watched as Ryoma was defeated by Corrinne. When Ryoma killed himself so she wouldn’t have to, Corrin screamed out, taking Raijinto into his hands, trying to fight Corrinne in his grief.
That would be his undoing. His inability to control the weapon made him sloppy along with his grief, and in the end, the blade would kill him via electrocution. As his vision faded, he pleaded with Corrinne to stop Garon… And that was his end.
No. It was not.
Waking up with a tear-stained face in Hoshido’s capital, Corrin looked around. Knowing something to be wrong, he got out of bed, getting dressed… as he did so, he found a familiar blade. Yato was in his room. Taking it, Corrin finished getting dressed and snuck out of the castle. Those dreams… hadn’t been dreams… he made his way to the outskirts of the castle town… where he encountered Corrinne. Overwhelmed with emotion, Corrin hugged her, and the two talked. She also had a Yato… in its base state. Something was wrong. Very wrong.
They knew they needed to make it right.
After the ill-fated events at the festival, that Corrin failed to prevent… the Branch came again. Corrin kept Yato with him, while Corrinne hid hers. However… they refused to choose a side.
Ryoma and Xander began fighting anew, unwilling to listen to them. However, at Azura’s suggestion and with Felicia and Jakob’s assistance, they attacked and took down both a Hoshidan and Nohrian group, Corrin and Felicia the Hoshidans, Corrinne and Jakob the Nohrians, getting the royals’ attention… at which point they fled, as they were branded traitors to both kingdoms. Running for a while, Azura suggested a place where they could hide out… so they dove through the Bottomless Canyon.
The group arrived in another world, a kingdom invisible to the world outside, named Valla. There, Azura revealed what she knew, that there was a king on the throne of Valla who was the source of all the trouble that had befallen the two kingdoms of Hoshido and Nohr.
After fighting off some Vallite soldiers, they returned to their own world, making their way to Hoshido to try and convince the kingdoms to help them. Izumo was their first stop; after defeating a Nohrian mage who was masquerading as the Archduke, Izana, Leo came and killed him, stopping him from using Sakura as a hostage. Leo did not believe Corrin’s plea, but after freeing Izana, Corrin and the others spoke with him.
Takumi was also leery of his story, but Izana spoke with the ancient gods… though not before pulling Corrin and Corrinne to the side… he, like them, and Azura to an extent, knew of the time loops. He gave them a rather dark warning, that he had a feeling that they had no more chances left… then went. The message he received from the gods was short and ultimately cost him his life… but Takumi joined forces with them, convinced by Izana’s sacrifice.
On their way, they spotted a smoke signal, sent up by Kaze’s brother, Saizo. Despite it being a warning instead of a distress signal, the group entered the forest of Mokushu anyway, and fought, defeating the would-be ‘king’ who had betrayed Hoshido, with Saizo getting the killing blow. Upon saving Kagero, the group continued on to Cheve, where Kagero had said Ryoma was.
Enroute to Cheve, their boats were stopped by a sudden freezing of the waters. Camilla and her retainers had come to try and kill Corrin and Corrinne at King Garon’s orders; Flora, one of the maids who’d looked over Corrin, was also aiding them, as Garon had threatened her tribe with death.
Fighting them off, Camilla ultimately joined their cause, as death was all that remained if she returned to Nohr. When the ice melted, the group continued on, numbers bolstered.
When they arrived in the port town of Cyrkensia… it was in ruins. Having found Kaden and Keaton injured on the outskirts of the town, Sakura healed them and they got an explanation. Parts of the city had began crumbling, and the two were attacked by Vallite forces. While the Hoshidan and Nohrian forces fought, Corrin and Corrinne’s force made their way through the city; Corrin lead a small group to fight to Ryoma, while Corrinne went after Xander. Azura and Kaden managed to take down a Wyvern Lord named Scarlet who was assisting Ryoma while Corrin dueled his older brother. Even after the Vallites were defeated, Ryoma and Xander insisted on fighting, so Azura quelled them by singing her song. Corrin attempted to convince Xander to help them, to no avail. Scarlet, however, trusted Corrin enough when he spoke with Ryoma and the other Hoshidans to try and convince him. Ultimately, their next goal was Notre Segasse, to meet with the Rainbow Sage for information.
Arriving at the port town of Dia, Corrin and the others were found by Nohrian troops and attacked. Before the fighting began, however, Elise joined the group, having left the capital of Nohr with her retainers, wanting to help her siblings. Elise convinced two of the border guards, Charlotte and Benny, to aid them, and after his defeat, Silas, a Nohrian knight, rejoined his best friends.
Afterward, the group left to Notre Segasse. When they arrived, the group made their way up towards the Sevenfold Sanctuary, after learning of it from an old man who recognized the blades that Corrin and Corrinne wielded. Upon reaching the Sanctuary, the group fought through it, defeating illusions set to test them and gaining a few new allies. After defeating the guardian of the floor, they found themselves back at the base of the mountain… the old man having been the Rainbow Sage all along. He empowered the twins’ weapons to the Alpha Yato… then died, having atoned for his sins, being one of twelve great dragons who fought to control the world.
Their next stop was the Bottomless Canyon. The time had nearly come for the skies to change over Hoshido and Nohr. Nobody had seemed to come… until Hans arrived with a Nohrian force. Believing Xander responsible for sending him, the twins felt betrayed. They fought as best they could, but seemed to be overwhelmed. Until Ryoma, Hinoka, and Scarlet showed up, along with Hinoka’s retainers. Numbers bolstered, they fought across the fiery fields, taking down Nohrian forces, until they finally reached Hans. Remembering past events that Hans caused, Corrin asked Corrinne if he would have the honor of putting him down… and their fight wasn’t even a fight. Corrin killed the Berserker with little trouble.
Continuing on towards the canyon, the group was faced with another army; Iago’s. The Sorcerer’s forces seemed never-ending… but Xander and Leo showed up, helping turn the tides of battle. Shortly afterward, their retainers joined the fray, too.
When Iago was slain by Corrinne, the remaining forces scattered, leaving the group there in the Canyon; Ryoma and Xander spoke, and a truce was made; Corrin and Corrinne had won them over.
From there, the group leapt off the bridge into the canyon. Corrin and Corrinne were the last to jump, and as they went, a hooded man attempted to attack them… though the two siblings vanished through a portal that had opened in the crevasse before he could. Not to be denied, the hooded man followed after them with a contingent of Vallite soldiers, leaving Scarlet, the one who jumped right before the siblings, to see.
