Full Name: Second Princess Corrinne of Nohr
Nickname(s): Corrin, Cori, “little princess” (by Xander)
Age: 18
Height: ? (A bit on the tall side)
Weight: ? (Average for height)
Gender: Female
Race: Manakete
Alliance: Grimly Heroic
Home: Nohr
Franchise: Fire Emblem Fates
Physical Description
Corrinne is a somewhat tall young woman with pale skin, red eyes, and white hair. Her hair reaches to about her waist in the back, and falls into her face somewhat but not enough to obscure her vision, and is held back by means of a black headband with a lone silver clip. While hard to notice at first glance, Corrinne’s ears are pointy rather than being smooth.
Upon arrival, Corrinne has on her preferred armor. It consists of a series of white plates covering her torso, turning black in the middle; elbow-high armor gloves leaving her fingers out, and white thigh-high armor ‘leggings’ that curve down at the insides. She wears a long-sleeved black shirt with somewhat poofy sleeves, black pants, a white half-skirt, and black gloves underneath. She lacks shoes, instead having a black strap under her arch, connected to her leg armor. Attached to the middle of her clavicle area by a silver pin is a dark blue cape.
By tapping into the power of her Dragonstone, Corrinne can assume her dragon form. In this state, she is mostly white with black accents, mirroring her armor. While Corrinne’s dragon form is closer to a Western dragon in terms of body shape, such as her long neck and wings, she has more stag-like horns and resembles a deer more than any reptile. Upon close examination, she lacks true feet, her dragon form essentially walking on her elongated knuckles.
Weapons and Accessories
Upon arrival to the Island, Corrinne is in possession of the Yato blade. While unimpressive alone, Yato can potentially synchronize with other legendary weapons to grow in power. However, while she wielded the Alpha Yato prior to arrival, for whatever reason, it has reverted back to its default form.
She also possesses her Dragonstone from Azura, which allows her to assume her dragon form while maintaining her mind and allowing her to revert back to human form. In this form, her attacks are also magical in nature rather than physical.
Finally, due to her Dragon Fang ability, Corrinne can convert parts of her body into spears or specific parts of her dragon form, including converting her cape into wings for very brief flight or as a quick attack.
While she does possess a Thunder tome, a Nohrian spellbook of medium power, Corrinne has lost the ability to use it.
Abilities/Powers
As covered above, Corrinne can use her Dragonstone to take on her dragon form. This transformation results in a notable increase in strength and durability at the cost of speed, though its increased size can be helpful for handling a larger opponent.
While also covered under Weapons, Corrinne possesses the Dragon Fang ability, allowing her to transform parts of her body into that of her dragon form or into spears. Additionally, she can shoot orbs of water from her jaw-hand when it is shifted into that state.
Corrinne also additionally possessed the ability to cast offensive magic via a tome or scroll due to her Nohr Noble class, though in the transition to the island, she has lost this ability and would require a Master Seal to regain this power.
Her kind, caring nature is reflected via her personal skill, “Supportive,” which has the following effect: “If paired with a support C+ attacker, grants Hit +10, +2 dmg dealt, and -2 dmg taken.” On the island, this translates to Corrinne encouraging a close ally into fighting a little harder than they normally would.
Thanks to her dragon blood, Corrinne can partially transform into a dragon to grant her attacks a bit more power. Dragon Fang has the following effect: “(Skill x0.75) chance to add half of attack power to damage dealt.” Thanks to the transformed parts, Corrinne can hit much harder than she normally would, and these partial transformations also have out-of-battle applications.
As a side effect of some retained memories and a general distain for the weapon type, Corrinne possesses the skill “Shurikenbreaker,” which has the following effect: “Grants Hit/Avoid +50 if the enemy is equipped with a shuriken/dagger.” On the island, this allows her to dodge daggers, shuriken, and other such weapons easily, as well as being far more likely to hit those who use such weapons.
Finally, like all royals of Hoshido or Nohr, Corrinne possesses the power of the Dragon Vein. While greatly weakened from before, Corrinne can still do some terraforming should the need arise and she find a Dragon Vein nearby.
Weaknesses
As a result of her dragon heritage, Corrinne is weak against dragon-killing weapons, such as her world’s native Wyrmslayers. This applies regardless of what form she may be in, dragon or human.
Skills
Corrinne is a skilled fighter, making up for her lack of relative raw power in human form by being extremely acrobatic and quick, her sword swipes being hard to dodge.
Corrinne can also cook, knowing traditional Nohrian styles, though she tends to make her food on the bitter side... And will sometimes make a meal intended for the entire army too bitter to enjoy. Additionally, she can’t brew tea at all. (And for everything sans the tea, she needed lessons. Lots of them.)
She is also good at long-term strategy, and by extension, is a good chess player… although she keeps losing to Leo, and she’s just about starting to grasp the basics of shogi.
Finally, due to some unpleasant memories of something that may or may not have happened in the past, Corrinne can improvise well with less supplies, and is better at coping with horror in general than most people.
Personality
Corrinne is, at heart, a kind person who cares deeply for the people she loves and would willingly aid anyone who asked. She is also rather social and conversational, and can be rather persuasive if she puts her mind to it. Corrinne is additionally rather curious, due to her backstory (see below). However, she can be a bit naïve and overly trusting at times, though not to the extent of her ‘brother.’ Like Corrin, however, she frowns upon needless cruelty and can go into full-on rage mode if pushed too far.
Corrinne is, compared to her ‘twin brother’ Corrin, more cynical and jaded. She is a bit slower to trust new people and is more likely to view the glass as half empty, although this makes her harder to take advantage of as a result. She additionally dislikes bloodshed in general, and tries to avoid taking lives whenever possible. (Though she will make exceptions for certain particularly scummy individuals)
That being said, Corrinne does have a bit of a lighter side, and is somewhat prone to dry remarks if the opportunity presents itself, as well as some light teasing.
History
Corrinne grew up in the kingdom of Nohr, inside an isolated fortress. Her life was relatively boring overall, consisting of training and the occasional visit by her siblings. She was curious about the world outside the fortress, and had compiled a list of places she wanted to see with her friend, Silas.
However, after she came of age and proved herself a capable warrior in the making, Corrinne was given permission to leave the fortress and live in the capital. Her first mission, assigned by her father, King Garon, was a simple scouting mission on the Nohr-Hoshido border. After a skirmish with Hoshidan forces, an assailant knocked one of her aides, Gunter, into the Bottomless Chasm. Later, she would be taken prisoner by one of the Hoshidans, and brought to Hoshido. Corrinne would learn that she was actually Hoshidan by blood.
She spent some time in Hoshido, getting to know her blood siblings and her mother, Mikoto. However, when a festival started to show Corrinne as Hoshidan royalty began, disaster struck. The sword she had received from Garon exploded after being triggered by an unknown assassin, and had Mikoto not shielded her, Corrinne would have died. Overwhelmed by grief, Corrinne lost control over herself, transforming into a dragon for the first time. Together with some Hoshidan warriors, the berserk Corrinne fought off the assassins. Afterwards, Azura would help Corrinne revert back to human form, giving her a Dragonstone to keep the draconic side in check. Corrinne would then march out with Ryoma and the others to a battlefield, where she had to make a choice.
Would she fight with her blood family, or the family she’d lived with all her life?
… She chose her adopted family.
At the Branch of Fate, Corrinne sided with Nohr, and after fighting off her Hoshidan siblings, returned to Castle Krakenberg, to receive her next mission from King Garon… Armed with the Yato blade, Corrinne and her group dealt with various missions, before invading Hoshido proper. (Unbeknownst to all except her and Azura, it was a plan to get Garon to reveal his true nature by sitting on the Hoshidan throne)
Along the way, Corrinne’s Yato would synchronize with Leo’s Brynhildr, and before they confronted the monster that was once King Garon, with Xander’s Siegfried, ultimately becoming the Shadow Yato. They ultimately overthrew Garon and a new threat, although this peace was obtained at a great price.
Ryoma would commit suicide to spare Corrinne from having to do it herself. Takumi had been possessed by an unknown force and had to be put down to allow his spirit to rest. Azura vanished after their final fight, leaving no trace that she had ever been…
Nonetheless, the war was over, and peace was there to stay.
Except it didn’t.
Corrinne awoke again, not in the fortress, but in the frontier between Hoshido and Nohr. Frightened for her life, Corrinne wandered through the wilderness for a time, eventually stumbling into Hoshido. By the time she arrived in the capital, however, stress and fear had taken their toll on her. When the festival disaster broke out, Corrinne lost control of herself, turning into her dragon form for the first (not) time. Another dragon appeared, and when they reverted, it was revealed to be a boy… who looked very much like her, named Corrin, and apparently her twin… But it was all extremely strange. This time, however, she was not chosen by Yato, and Corrin had. At the Branch of Fate this time, she again chose Nohr. Corrin, however, went to Hoshido, taking the Yato blade with him.
Corrinne trained with swords and learned how to use tomes. She fought alongside her Nohrian siblings wherever she could, but they were constantly defeated. Corrinne would later follow Elise down to the underground, trying to comfort her in the absence of their siblings.
When the Hoshidans invaded the Nohrian underground, Corrinne fought alongside Camilla and later Xander, refusing to surrender to the Hoshidans and “the filthy traitor that I once called brother.” It was then that tragedy struck as she readied to defend the door to the throne room alongside Xander…
Elise threw herself in front of Xander’s blade, trying to get Corrin and Xander to stop fighting. Xander would die shortly after at Corrin’s hands, seeking death himself. Upon seeing Xander fall, Corrinne screamed and took up Siegfried herself, trying to fight Corrin in her grief, and for what she tried to justify as vengeance for Xander and Elise.
That would be her undoing. Unable to bring herself to fight any more, Corrinne could not muster up enough hate to kill Corrin, and asked him to kill her. Corrin refused, and then Corrinne thrust Siegfried through her chest. With her last breath, she asked Corrin what message he would have delivered to Xander and Elise… And that was her end.
It wasn’t.
As if waking up from a very long and intricate dream, Corrinne was once again in her bed in the fortress… In a very dazed state. Things went like they had the first time, with one exception. At the festival disaster and the death of Mikoto, another dragon was there. This dragon was Corrin, who seemed to be as lost as she was. The Yato would choose Corrinne as its wielder this time. At the Branch of Fate, Corrinne would once again side with Nohr, taking the Yato with her, while Corrin sided with Hoshido. Much like the first time, Corrinne dealt with various missions before joining her family in invading Hoshido. Things were oddly familiar to Corrinne… Except whenever she battled her Hoshidan siblings, Corrin would also be there.
When Ryoma killed himself to spare Corrinne the pain of doing so, Corrin went into a grief-fueled rage, taking up Raijinto and attacking Corrinne. This would result in Corrin’s death, his grief rendering his form sloppy, and his inability to control Raijinto resulted in his death by electrocution. As he died, Corrin asked Corrinne to end the war and defeat Garon…
Garon and the possessed Takumi would be dealt with as before, and peace could come back at last…
Or so it seemed.
Corrinne awoke from what appeared to have been a long and very detailed nightmare, outside the Hoshidan capital. She knew something was off… especially once she found the Yato blade in her possession. She started to look around for someone… someone that could relate to what she felt. Corrinne suspected those dreams hadn’t actually been dreams…
She ran into Corrin on the outskirts of the castle town. Overwhelmed by emotion, she hugged him, and the two talked. He also had a Yato… and it was in its base state as well.
They knew something was wrong, and that they needed to make it right.
After the festival disaster, the Branch of Fate came again. Corrinne hid her Yato, while Corrin kept his. However, this time… they refused to choose a side.
Ryoma and Xander began their fighting anew. At the suggestion of Azura, and with the help of Jakob and Felicia, Corrinne and Corrin attacked and defeated both a Nohrian and Hoshidan division, Corrinne and Jakob attacking the Nohrians, while Corrin and Felicia attacked the Hoshidans. While this did attract the attention of the royals, it lead to them being branded as traitors to both Hoshido and Nohr. After running for a while, Azura suggested there was a place they could hide…
They jumped down the Bottomless Canyon, arriving in a world invisible to the outside, called Valla. From there, Azura revealed all that she knew- that the Vallite king, Anankos was the true source of the conflict between Hoshido and Nohr. Their small group was detected, however, and Corrinne and Corrin had to fight their way through. As they fought their way through the darkness, they reunited with Gunter, who had survived his fall. After fighting their way out, Corrinne and the rest of the group returned to the surface, intending to head out to Hoshido.
They made their way over to Fort Jinya, where they tried to appeal to Yukimura and the Hoshidans in the fort. Because the curse on Valla prevented them from speaking, Corrinne and Corrin had no choice but to fight. However, they spared the lives of every soldier they defeated, along with Yukimura, Saizo, and Orochi. After defeating Yukimura, Sakura and Kaze stepped in and joined their motley crew, Sakura also bringing her retainers along.
This small group made their way towards Izumo, intending to learn more. Taking the Endless Staircase as a shortcut, they encountered what appeared to be Faceless… But after being cut down, Corrinne was horrified to find out they were actually members of the Wind Tribe. They had no choice but to seek an audience with the chieftain of the Wind Tribe, Fuga. After a short battle, Fuga believed in Corrinne and Corrin’s word and saw them as the world’s saviours. He allowed their group to pass, and they continued on to Izumo.
In Izumo, they sought an audience and information from the archduke, Izana. However, the “Izana” was actually Zola, a Nohrian mage, who after being revealed, froze the town and forced Corrinne and her group to break through the ice to catch him. While interrogating Zola on the real Izana, Zola took Sakura hostage… Only for Zola to be killed via a very familiar burst of trees. Leo was in Izumo to dispatch Zola, and refused to believe Corrinne’s words… although he did not attack her. Takumi and his retainers were also held hostage in Izumo, and Takumi refused to believe Corrinne or Izana’s words. Izana then pulled Corrinne and Corrin to the side…
Izana told the twins that he, like them and to an extent Azura, knew of the time loops, and that he feared that there were no more chances left. Izana then performed a ritual to receive a message from the gods- a ritual that would cost him his life. Taking the archduke’s dying words to heart, Takumi, alongside his retainers, joined Corrinne’s group.
Her group then passed through Mokushu, catching the sight of a smoke signal sent by Saizo. While Kaze explained that the signal meant to stay away, Corrinne and Corrin saw it as an oppertunity to gain more allies, and rushed in the direction of the signal- and into the middle of an ambush by Mokushujin forces. As they fought off the ambush, Corrinne witnessed Corrin win the aid of Saizo, Orochi, and Reina- and they all witnessed Saizo kill Kotaro, the corrupt Daimyo of Mokushu. Afterwards, this growing group set out to catch a ferry to Cheve to meet up with Ryoma.
While it seemed as though their trip would be smooth, Corrinne’s group would find themselves stuck… Thanks to the Ice Tribe freezing the sea. Camilla, her retainers, and Flora were also there, the latter and the Ice Tribe sent to kill Corrinne and Corrin on penalty of death. After a long and exhausting battle, Corrinne and Corrin defeated Flora, and convinced Camilla and her retainers to join their cause. Flora and the Ice Tribe would then all go into hiding.
They arrived next in the port town of Cyrkensia… which had been completely destroyed. Corrinne’s group then saw a badly-wounded Kaden and Keaton, and after having Sakura heal their wounds, the two shapeshifters explained it was due to an invisible force, even though Ryoma and Xander blamed the other’s army for the destruction. Their group fought all three armies, with Corrinne leading the charge against the Nohrians and Xander, while Corrin attacked the Hoshidans, Ryoma, and Scarlet. With help from Keaton knocking Xander off his horse, Corrin was able to defeat her older brother. However, even in defeat, the two armies would not retreat; Azura was forced to sing a magic song to calm their leaders, allowing Corrinne’s group to move on. Before they left, however, Ryoma left them with a clue as to what they should seek… And it was around this time that Corrinne found someone she might have found truly interesting.
They arrived in the port of Dia, seeking information and passage to Notre Sagesse to find the Rainbow Sage. It was here that Elise caught up to Corrinne, having decided to side with her sister, dragging her retainers along with her… But before they could catch a ferry, the town was overrun by Nohrian troops, lead by Silas… the childhood friend of Corrinne and Corrin. Corrinne’s group fought off the Nohrian army, and realizing Silas couldn’t kill them, invited the young knight into their ranks.
Arriving in Notre Sagesse, Corrinne and Corrin learned that the Rainbow Sage resided at the top of the Sevenfold Sanctuary… And that the path was wrought with perils. After a long climb up the mountain, Corrinne’s group fought through the illusion guards and reached the top of the sanctuary… To arrive back in Notre Sagesse, and to find out that the old man they had met with was actually the Rainbow Sage- and the dragon Izana had told them about. The Rainbow Sage had forged Yato and four other divine weapons, and treating the appearance of the twin Yatos as though it were nothing, called upon the last of his power to upgrade both Yatos to their Alpha form… At the expense of his own life. Corrinne’s group then set out to the Bottomless Canyon again, noting that the skies above Hoshido and Nohr were beginning to change.
As they made their way to the Bottomless Canyon, they ran into a group of Nohrian soldiers in a volcanic area, lead by Hans… the same person who had sent Gunter into the Bottomless Canyon to begin with. As they began to fight off the ambush, Corrinne’s group was assisted by the arrival of Ryoma, Scarlet, Hinoka, and her retainers. Although she wanted to kill Hans herself, she decided Corrin had the better right to the kill than she did, and watched as Corrin dealt the death blow to Hans himself. Figuring the battle was won, their group marched out towards the bridge above the canyon… Only to run into another Nohrian army, lead by Iago. Weakened by the fight against Hans’s army and having no choice but to stay and fight, Corrinne feared that their end was nigh. Then Xander and Leo, alongside their retainers, entered the battle… On Corrinne’s side. Encouraged by the return of her brothers, Corrinne’s small army fought back against Iago’s, pushing back the swarms that fell upon them. Seeking revenge for the Nohrian people and for previous timelines, Corrinne killed Iago herself, decapitating the mage and taking his head as a trophy.
After the slaying of the sorcerer, the remaining Nohrian soldiers scattered, leaving their group alone in the Canyon. Ryoma and Xander spoke, and formed a truce; Corrinne and Corrin had won them all over.
The group, consisting of the eleven royals, their retainers, and some hangers-on, retreated to the astral plane to recharge and regroup, for they would soon make the jump into the Bottomless Canyon and Valla. Corrinne couldn’t help but notice something seemed off about her brother…
And then, as they readied themselves for their plunge, Corrinne, Corrin, Gunter, and Scarlet would be the last four to jump. Scarlet fastened a flower to her armour, and then the final four made their descent…
But when they landed, their army wouldn’t be together… and they wouldn’t even be in Valla...
