FULL INTEGRATION WITH NEW PARTS COMPLETE
74% INCREASE IN CAPABILITY.

Operation P.E.R.F.E.C.T.
P.REPARING E.XTREME R.ECTIFICATION F.OR E.NDING C.ONTEMPTIBLE T.ORTURER
--------------------
It had been a number of months since the machine had been out on the town of Void City. A lot of that had to do with the fact that it had sensed a large increase in energy spreading out over the island, having adverse effects on everything in the town, and the whole island over. When he saw the energy coming, the machine took refuge in the Hospital's basement, locking itself within....
But now... Now he was out and about once more. Now he was free to continue his search for further improvements..
The metals now making up the entirety of his chasis was a good start. With how powerful they were, even his HATED ENEMY'S homing attack would not be enough to hurt it... The weapons he had gained was a good next step too, what with the sheer number of missiles, the shock burst emitters, the momentum accelerators... Even the hammer and the arm blades were good steps forward...
But that wasn't enough. Most of those weapons were good with Mid to close range. He needed long range fire power. He needed POWERFUL long range fire power. He needed EFFICIENT Long range fire power... Something new, something that blue buzzsaw wouldn't see coming...
.... Hmmm.... The machine's scanner was picking up weaponry unlike anything it had seen before down below... It looked like a Market Place...
He supposed on this kind of island a weaponry shop was rather fitting.......
---------------------
The robot pushed open the door and was greeted with western style music and warmer air from a heater installed over the door. Likely set in place so to keep the cold of the winter air out... There was relatively few people in the store, the robot noted, but then again, the robot had known that since he scanned the place. The only one present aside from the store keeper was what appeared to be a little kid in the corner, taking in the baseball bats... Why Baseball Bats were up for sale in the same store as guns, he could not say...
"Greetings traveler! If you've come for weaponized mayhem you've come to the right place!" The store-keeper looked decidedly NOT ex-military, and instead, a fairly young man with just that expression that screamed no true experience.
Getting information out of him was going to be a fairly simple process if need be...
And judging by the weapons around here.... And how unusual some of them seemed.....
-----------------------
Outside of Metal's peripheral vision, the young man standing in front of the baseball bats had turned to give him a curious expression...

CI: Kenny. Dude. I found him. BS: who CI: You know! The robot! BS: oh you mean metal sonic CI: Yes... Him. BS: really love these rounds of the pronoun game we play dude theyre just f***ing riveting BS: i also love how youre suddenly all serious about this metal sonic business again after having spent half a year dicking around not actually looking for him CI: I have been looking for him! I never forgot! CI: I just... got a little distracted with this whole dragon business. CI: Besides, we spent God knows how long on a dedicated search and never found a trace of him. BS: god knows it was three weeks CI: ALRIGHT. I GET IT. CI: The bottom line is that I've spotted him. CI: He's at the mall. I think he just went into the armory. BS: well s*** lets hope he doesnt eat the whole store before i get a chance to buy a landmine CI: Ignoring that. Can you get in touch with Shulk for me? CI: He's gonna wanna know about this. BS: fine but whatre you gonna do CI: I'm gonna follow him. Someone has to keep an eye on him. Someone who knows what he's capable of. BS: well good luck buddy BS: and i really do mean that CI: Thanks.
Putting his phone on silent and slipping it in his jacket pocket, Paul flipped his hood up and navigated through the crowd, following Metal Sonic's trail. After having lost track of him since he and his new friends rebuilt him, to have the robot suddenly back in his sights was relieving yet nerve wracking. He could only guess what this thing had been up to since then, and he could easily guess what he was up to now.
Sure enough, Paul spotted the blue machine in the armory. He stopped short just outside and pressed himself against a wall, knowing too well how easily recognizable he was. There was very little that the blue dragon man could do about Metal in his current position. All he could do was listen and wait...

Metal had started scanning the items the second he entered, taking in everything that caught his electronic eye. So many unusual designs, so many odd features.... And yet they all WORKED in one way or the other. They all either created chaos, controlled chaos, or anything else in between. All of them creating more and more potential for Mechon Metal to only comprehend...
"Sure is a lot of new stuff in here today..." Metal heard from the young man near the back. "Wonder if he got a new supplier somehow-?" The boy continues moving about before locating a hanging rack not for bats but for wrenches the SIZE of bats. "Hmmm, Jeff might like this... Assuming I can find him again."
.... The young man's word rung in the robot's head... He had scanned these weapons front to back... Did they even have a brand? Rocket launchers that locked on to targets, guns with rapid fire feature and more ammo then anyone could dare dream, a high frequency sword that could vibrate thrice the speed of a chainsaw for ultra precision and clean cutting... There wasn't a brand on any of these...
So many creative weapons... And yet they had no source?
Curious....
The robot walked back up to the front desk, expression intense. "Oh yes hi there! Find anything you like metallic stranger?" The shopkeeper smiled non-threateningly.
"Who is your supplier?"
.......... "Huh-?"
"You heard me. I SAID 'who is your supplier." The question was now less a question and more a demand.

Paul mentally cursed his lack of tact. Sure, follow the heavily-armed robot to a weapons shop... and then what? Any information he could gather would hopefully serve some purpose, but was he just supposed to stand by and let Metal upgrade himself? Nobody wanted that. He just wished there was something he could do about it without causing a scene. The last thing they needed was an all-out firefight in the mall, and a particularly one-sided one at that.
An idea crossed his mind. A crazy idea, but the best one he had.
Thinking quickly, Paul wrapped his tail around his waist like a belt. His balance always took a bit of a toll when he did this, but hopefully it and his hoodie would be enough of a disguise. He then casually strolled into the armory, keeping his eyes off Metal but his ears fine tuned to his and the shopkeeper's conversation.
As he pretended to browse a wall of guns, Paul slowly approached the boy... If at least someone knew...

Shulk yelped slightly as he heard his device going off.. it still startled him. When he saw the message, however...
MH: What?! He did?! Where-
Shulk's eyes seemed to glow a bit... a vision. He hadn't had one of those in quite some time. He saw... the Armory, saw Paul going in there... and gunfire. Paul going through the roof...
"Oh no!"
Running towards the city, Shulk sent off a quick message.
MH: Kenny, I just had a vision. Something very bad is about to happen!
He already had the Monado at the ready as he started heading towards the mall.

The worker at the front desk holds up his hands. "Look, stranger. I just work here. I don't really know anything about the behind the back door stuff. You wanna ask someone? You need to ask my manager-"
"THEN WHERE IS YOUR MANAGER." Once more, a demand, not a question. Though the worker DEFINITELY gets the sense that the robot is RAPIDLY running out of patience.
"Well, here's the thing, I haven't really seen him all day today, so-"
WHOOSH CLICK-CLICK.
"I'LL JUST GO INTO THE BACK AND CHECK TO SEE IF HE IS THERE."
The second Metal's arm whirls around, REVEALING A MACHINE GUN FEATURE, WHICH COCKS ITSELF AND GETTING READY TO FIRE, the worker INSTANTLY understands just how little say he had in the manner and rushed into the back of the store. Whether to find the manager or call him in his home, either way, he was away from THIS metallic maniac and his very obvious gun-arm.
The young man on the opposite side of the store is instantly on the floor, remembering all of the videos he had watched of store shakedowns and hold-ups. Sure he WANTED to get in there and do something about this tin-can, but he was still a young psychic going up against something he recognized as an automatic loading GATTLING gun.
On the radio, the slow song from before had transitioned into a slightly more fast paced rock song as Metal scanned the items along the wall.
It hovered over to a wall and took in what looked like an odd gun that barely resembled and looked like a gun that could function at all.... And yet, looking over it's features allowed him to see something truly wonderful.
'A plasma pistol was it?' It mused as it merged the weapon into itself. 'These people are willing to sell anything.'

BS: yeah no sh*t BS: paul said hes going in to keep an eye on metal BS: id say disaster is inevitable BS: what are we gonna do about it
---------------------------
Paul scooted to a halt next to the teenage boy as nonchalantly as possible. He kept Metal in his peripheral, his expression otherwise unsuspecting. The blue robot's demands with the cashier were perfectly in line with Paul's worst fears. It was clear that he would have to act quickly before any more upgrades could be forcibly acquired.
He turned to the young man and cleared his throat... only to catch Metal threatening the cashier with a very conspicuous gun. The young man dropped to the floor. Paul hastily followed suit. It seemed like the hint was well and truly dropped without his input.
Paul's bright yellow eyes momentarily locked on the boy, issuing a silent warning and a glimmer of concern. He tilted his head towards the robot. He pointed to himself, then to said robot. Hopefully the message came across well enough.
As Metal started inspecting a wall of guns just around the corner from their aisle, Paul turned ever so slightly to keep him in sight, his eyes narrow with intent. The infernal machine was already getting a jumpstart on assimilating the armory, and he wasn't about to sit by and let him continue. He'd already made that mistake before.
"Get behind me," Paul whispered to the young man, his voice just barely audible over the radio. He inched back, bringing himself closer to the boy, positioning himself to act as a human shield. "Now when say run... you run, okay? Find help. Otherwise, leave this tin can to me."
It seemed like Metal hadn't noticed him, or at the very least, hadn't recognized him. It was now or never.
Nice to know that Metal wasn't the only one who had received an upgrade since their last encounter...
Paul slowly drew in a deep breath, sparks of static lighting up in his mouth.
CRACK
A white-hot bolt of lightning erupted from the dragon man's throat with a blinding flash and an almighty thunderclap, striking the robot point-blank, engulfing him in dancing electrical arcs.
"Run."

MH: What else can we do? We have to fight him. I'll be there soon. It'll be difficult to damage him thanks to the Mechon armor he integrated without the Monado. Try to keep an eye on him if you can't keep him around wherever he is.
When he arrived at the Mall proper, Shulk quickly glanced around. He hadn't thought to ask where exactly Paul was, and he was starting to regret that...
...though he very quickly figured out where he needed to go. That thunderclap was hard to miss after all. Firing up his blade, Shulk sprinted down the hallway towards the weapon store. He just hoped he wasn't too late...

KA-KRACK!!!!!!
It happened faster then most would have had time to register. A blast of lightning slamming the robot aside and causing him to CRASH into the front desk, shattering the glass displays and flattening the desk itself...
Honestly, Ness hated the very idea of running away from what was likely going to be a massive shakedown, after all, he was a fighter and this island had been his jurisdiction for a number of years now... And yet without his Franklin Badge, he was without a dependable means of defense from getting mowed down by Machine gun fire. Much as he HATED it, he needed to retreat for the time being until he could come up with a plan. "R-right! Good luck!!" Ness quickly activates his PSI energy and zooms out the door almost fast enough to leave a small flame trail in his wake.
However, it was the energy fluctuation that catches the robot's attention as it lifts it's head and slowly stands up.
"...... YOU AGAIN."
It wasted no other words before seemingly TELEPORTING, showing intense and ridiculous speeds itself.
KER-WHAM!!!!!
An upward kick, merging insane momentum with the jet booster repulsor follow through, sends Paul FLYING CLEAN THROUGH the Mall's roof and up into the sky.

BS: uh im home right now but ill see how quickly i can get down there BS: not sure what i can do but i might as well try something for pauls sake BS: hang tight ill catch up with you asap
---------------------------
Electrical arcs danced around the armory, briefly disorienting the robot, causing the lights to flicker and outright breaking those directly above Metal. Ness was well protected behind the dragon man's scaly hide, and once the opportunity had presented itself, he took his leave from the fight. Paul stood up straight, never looking directly at Ness, keeping the attention away from the young man so he could escape unnoticed.
Paul's yellow eyes blazed as Metal met his gaze. He gritted his teeth, lowered his hood, and readied a second attack.
Metal's movements were by no means invisible to the dragon man's keen eye, but the haste with which the robot executed them did catch him off guard somewhat. His reflexes were a nanosecond slow as he whipped around to swipe at Metal, only to be kicked skyward with meteoric force, busting a hole through the ceiling in the process. He remained airborne for only a second longer, tumbling across the roof with a hard grunt until he slowed to a writhing stop.
"Ahh... Deevdru di vi kenzi..."
Give the guy some credit, Paul could take a lot of damage. When it came to direct, physical attacks, though, blunt force was probably the best way to maybe not necessarily wound him, but definitely hurt him. He lay in place for a moment, massaging his back, pausing to shake himself off and get his bearings back in order. Then, adrenaline kicking back in, Paul scurried over to the hole in the roof and took a peek.
Ducking behind the rubble, Paul raised his hand. The wind started stirring inside...

The sudden hole in the ceiling of the armory hadn't escaped the young man's notice... fortunately, at the least, it seemed like his vision wasn't quite as life-threatening as he'd originally thought it was. Furrowing his brow, Shulk hurried his pace up, skidding to a halt in front of the door to the shop.
"All right. I can do this." He had a better idea of what he was dealing with, and he knew that he could get some visions, at the very least. The odds weren't great, but he couldn't just sit back and do nothing. He was sure Paul could use the help. Even as the wind began whipping up around him, Shulk moved into the Armory, body tense.
