Full Name: Second Princess Sakura of Hoshido
Nickname(s):
Age: 15
Height: Somewhat short
Weight: A bit light for her size.
Gender: Female
Race: Human with dragon ancestry
Alliance: Optimistic Heroic
Home: Hoshido
Franchise: Fire Emblem (Fates)
Physical Description
Sakura’s outfit is a typical Shrine Maiden outfit, minus the hood. Her outfit is… a bit unusual, so the picture is a better descriptor. She does have reddish eyes, and pink hair.
Weapons and Accessories
Sakura, upon arrival, has a Sun Festal, a Wane Festal, and a Brass Yumi in her possession. Her Sun Festal has a bit of range, though it’s not as potent as a Nohrian staff; her Wane Festal lets her heal allies from a much greater range, though it only has a few uses in it before it will break. The Brass Yumi is a weak-ish bow that makes Sakura less likely to get critically hit and boosts her Resistance by 2, though she can’t activate offensive skills or land criticals herself with it.
Abilities/Powers
Sakura, as a Shrine Maiden, is capable of using the magic within staves and rods, though her preference is towards her home nation’s rods.
She also was capable of using a bow in combat for a while, though she was ‘demoted’ from Priestess in the transit to the island, and lost that ability.
Sakura also possesses several abilities that manifest in combat. Her Personal Skill, Quiet Strength, is a testament to her willpower. Its effect is as follows: Allies within a 2-tile radius take 2 less damage from attacks. Her strong will inspires her allies, helping them shrug off some damage they would take.
Her next skill, Miracle, is as follows: Allows the unit to survive a fatal strike with 1 HP at (Luck)% if HP >1. Her magic power can give her a buffer from death if she’s not already on death’s door.
Rally Luck, her next skill, is a little more unusual. Its effect is as follows: Increase the Luck of all allies by 8 within a 2-tile radius. Nearby allies are inspired by a magical shout from Sakura, which boosts their luck, giving them an edge in combat.
Finally, while she doesn’t remember getting this skill, she also has Camaraderie, which has this effect: Recover 10% HP at the start of the user’s turn if there are allies within a 2-tile radius. Having allies around her helps Sakura relax somewhat, letting her heal a little.
Lastly, Sakura, like all royals of Hoshido, possesses the ability of the Dragon Vein. While much weaker than in her native world, Elise can still alter the environment in various ways if she finds a vein.
Weaknesses
As a Shrine Maiden, Sakura lacks the ability to attack. She isn’t exactly durable, though she has a good mix of magical power and physical power as a Priestess.
Skills
Sakura has knowledge of medicine and disease, though she is no apothecary and isn’t good at making medicines herself. She is, however, a pretty good cook, skilled in the Hoshidan style.
She’s also a rather skilled koto player and loves music.
Personality
Sakura comes across as quite timid. She’s often polite with those she talks with, but tends to stutter in conversations with folks she isn’t comfortable with. She can seem easily intimidated, but she has a strong will, and it shows in her devotion towards helping others with her healing.
She is very kind and hates seeing others suffer, though she won’t hesitate to fight if she believes it’s necessary.
History
Sakura is the youngest child of the Hoshido royal family, and the youngest princess of the Hoshidan line. Sakura originally had another sibling, Corrin(ne), but they were taken and raised in Nohr when she was very little.
With tensions high between Hoshido and Nohr, Sakura found herself trapped alongside her sister, Hinoka, by a group of Faceless that had been sent from Nohr. When Ryoma came to the rescue alongside their long-lost sibling, both sisters were stunned to see them again. After returning home, the incident at the festival that took Mikoto’s life occurred, and then came a branch… a Branch of Fate.
Corrin chose Hoshido, and war started. Sakura went to Fort Jinya, which was being used as a makeshift hospital for injured soldiers, putting her healing arts to use. When the fort came under attack from Nohrian forces, however, Sakura, upset that they would attack a hospital, joined Corrin in fending off the group. Afterwards, they received news that Takumi and Ryoma had gone missing, and she joined Corrin’s forces as they continued on.
On the Eternal Stairway, the group was attacked by Faceless… but when they were taken down, the illusion was broken, revealing that they had been Wind Tribe members that they had killed. Distraught, the group went into Wind Tribe territory, and due to Sakura being with the ‘Bandits’, the group was able to speak with the chief, Fuga, and after proving themselves, they continued on to Izumo. There, Izana brought Sakura and Corrin to a room to help them relax… and revealed himself as Zola, attempting to kill them. Another fight broke out, Hinoka and the others having disguised themselves and Nohrians to foil the ambush.
At Mokushu, Takumi attacked the group, but Azura was able to break the mind-control hold on him, and with him with their group, they continued on to Mount Garou, attempting to cross into Nohrian territory. After a fight with the Wolfskin tribe, Sakura saw Kaze fall to his death, throwing Corrin to Hinoka. Distraught, the group continued on. Takumi had fallen very ill from catching a disease from the wolfskin, so the group broke into one of Garon’s villas, hunting for medicine with the aid of Felicia’s sister, Flora.
After repelling Iago, they got the medicine to Takumi, and were able to continue onward. Eventually, the group met up with Scarlet, the leader of the Nohrian resistance in Cheve… and met back up with Ryoma, who’d been aiding them. Continuing the assault to Castle Krakenburg, Sakura aided the army where she could. Finally, they arrived, fighting and defeating Garon… peace was restored.
Or was it?
In another world running concurrent to the above, Sakura saw her sister, Corrinne, choose Nohr. Sakura would help aid in the defenses of Hoshido against the Nohrian invasion. Eventually, however, Sakura and Yukimura, along with her retainers Hana and Subaki, were ultimately defeated, and were taken as prisoners of war. While Corrinne intended to spare the other soldiers, Iago and Hans began slaughtering them, and the sight made her break completely; she holed herself up, refusing to even eat. Elise helped take care of her until the war ended, and they were freed.
Sakura and Hinoka survived, with Hinoka becoming Queen of Hoshido, and both attended Xander’s coronation. Peace was restored…
Or so it seemed.
Twice more these events happened, with some differences… namely, two siblings. Corrin and Corrinne… Kaze survived the second time through with Corrin, but the other sibling died…
Finally, the two siblings refused to take a side… they were branded traitors to both kingdoms, but when they were attacked at Fort Jinya by Yukimura… Sakura and Kaze stepped in, stopping Saizo from blowing himself up. Even though she didn’t know the extent of what was going on, she still believed in her siblings and joined their cause. At Izumo, she was taken hostage by Zola, who tried to save himself, but Leo executed him.
The group continued to gain strength, and eventually, they went and dove into the Bottomless Canyon, ending up somewhere unexpected...
