"Go bunny!"

Elise kept a safe distance from the invisible soldiers, though enough that Yarne was still able to feel her warm aura.

However, she ended up tripping over something. "Oof!" Picking it up, it was revealed to be... a simple Iron Sword, slightly worn from use. "L-Leo? Are you around?"

The sound of something heavy moving through mud could be heard in the distance if you either listened very closely or had exceptional hearing.

Yarne held his ground, paying the heavy sounds little mind as he faced down a Knight, though when he came to attack him, Yarne stumbled; he was hit for minimal damage... but he suddenly shifted back from his form.

Disarm

"W-What the?!"

Now that he wasn't transformed, a Great Master was going after him, armed with a Beast Killer. His eyes went wide. "Eeeeeehh!" He screamed out as he was struck; Lancebreaker didn't help nearly as much without his transformed state's boosts.

"T-The sword!"

Thinking quickly, Sakura took the sword from Elise, throwing it towards Yarne with a yell.

Grabbing it, Yarne turned to face down his foe, gritting his teeth; his legs were shaking, but...

Fight or Flight

"I'm gonna end you!"

Holding the blade in a skillful grip, Yarne rolled under the next strike, slicing cleanly through the ghostly foe, who dissipated. He was dripping blood, though a quick patch-up from Sakura got him standing more steadily.

"D-Damn it... where's my Beaststone+?" He couldn't see where it had fallen when he was disarmed.

"Your stone?"

Elise kept her staff ready, the Fire tome hanging uselessly out of her inventory. A Malig Knight came swooping down, axe aimed at the Troubadour.

The troubadour jumped to the side, narrowly dodging the axe with a loud scream. She fell onto her back, and she could see... Generals. Wyvern Lords. Kinshi Knights. "Look out, bunny! Attack from the sky!! Oh, and a buncha armored guys!"

"S-Shit..." Yarne mumbled under his breath. "This isn't good... w-wait. What's that you have there?"

Sakura looked over. "S-She has a Fire tome, and I have a Brass Yumi... that's a type of bow."

"Give them to me!"

"R-Right!" Sakura knew better than to question it.

Quickly taking the bow in hand, Yarne then took Elise's Fire Tome, igniting the arrow as he pulled it back. "Nnnngah!" He fired, dropping the Malig Knight out of the sky. "Whew... okay... Knights incoming..."

Putting the bow away, Yarne prepared for the armored foe's attack... and jumped back as the lance was swung; the Knight didn't stand a chance of hitting him.

Yarne's counterattack with the tome, however, struck home, frying the Vallite.

"How... how many more are there?!"

The purple smoke of the invisible soldiers was still visible... But less so then when the two princesses spotted them.

"I dunno, but it looks like they're fading!"

Elise remained close to Yarne, having willingly handed over her Fire tome. "But that one looks awfully mad..."

She pointed towards a Dark Knight, its sword drawn, a magic tome on standby, apparently the leader of this band.

"Yeah... looks like it. Alright..." Deep breath. He could do this. Stone or no Stone. He just needed to take this carefully, and...

That was a very large fireball. Oh Gods.

Yarne yelled out as he was blasted by the Elfire tome, stumbling; he was weak...

Fight or Flight

When the Dark Knight's second attack came, though, his tense legs helped him jump out of the way, panting as he landed. "Haah... haah... haah... this... this isn't good..."

Sakura spoke calmly, using her staff. "It's okay. We're with you. You can do it!"

Her words calmed the Taguel down... and focused him. He drew the Iron Sword, standing ready...

"Time to tip the scales!"

Yarne leapt into the air, crashing down on the Dark Knight with a critical strike, knocking him off his horse and to the ground, where he dissipated.

"Woohoo! Go bunny! You were SO COOL, hehe!"

Elise did a little victory dance before wrapping her arms around Yarne's waist, smiling in gratitude.

There was a rustling sound in the nearby brush... "Uh-oh... What now?"

Effie stumbled out of the brush, most of her hair loose from its usual bun, her pink armour splattered with mud. Hoised above her head were... Three other individuals... and a winged horse.

"Oh?" the pink-clad Knight asked. "Are we late?"

"Lady Elise! You're unharmed!" One could make out Arthur's shape beneath all the mud and insect bites.

"Effie! Arthur! You are here!" Elise went slightly wide-eyed. "Yeah, Sakura and I were fine! This big bunny here saved us from those invisible soldiers!" There was a brief pause. "Um, Effie... Maybe you can put them down now? I can't imagine it's very fun holding everyone up..."

"Oh, to be honest, I hardly notice them. But if you insist, Lady Elise."

There was a crashing sound as the other three fell to the ground. The pegasus, meanwhile, landed gracefully.

Yarne smiled slightly, feeling his pulse settling a bit. He stiffened again as Elise hugged him around his waist, but he chuckled, relaxing and ruffling her hair. She really did remind him a lot of his little sister.

When he heard the rustling, the taguel crouched down a bit, gripping his Beaststone+, freshly located... but as Sakura and Elise seemed to recognize these four, he relaxed again.

Sakura nodded. "Yes... he... I don't even know your name. I'm sorry. I'm Sakura..."

"Yarne. Don't worry about it, heh..."

Sakura nodded. "He protected us. Are you alright?"

As Effie 'set them down', Hana yelped, and Subaki groaned, hiding his face. "How embarrassing..."

Vanessa's almost-mocking snort didn't go unnoticed, either. "Oh... shut up, you..."

He began to notice an odd itching feeling. ...Where had they landed...?

"And I'm Elise! The tall guy's Arthur. He's really heroic but really unlucky!"

Arthur seemed to be unaware of his status. It was as though he had merely been in a light rain. "Thank you!" he said, patting Yarne's shoulder. "For protecting Lady Elise when we could not!"

"And she's Effie," Elise said, pointing to the knight. "She's really strong and kind and she's my best friend!"

"Like Arthur said, thank you for protecting Lady Elise when we could not." She walked up to Yarne and shook his hand. There was the sound of something suspiciously like bones breaking.

Yarne chuckled softly as Arthur patted his shoulder. He reminded him a lot of Owain... definitely had spirit like that.

Then came Effie. His eyes went wide as she shook his hand, and he felt the breaking. "Rrfh... GYAAAAAH!" He screamed loudly, jumping several feet up into the air, cradling his now-broken hand.

Sakura took a sharp breath at that, quickly getting her Sun Festal out and working to heal the damage. "Goodness..."

"Sorry about that," Effie said with a short nod. "But you look stronger than that? Maybe we could wrestle sometime?"

"Um, Effie, you kind of broke all of Yarne's hand..."

"My apologies. So..."

Effie looked around, taking in more trees. "Just where are we?"

"I- I dunno! Where are we-"

A woman, followed by a small crowd, was suddenly around them. "Beg pardon, but... Did you save our village from those monsters?"

Arthur gave Yarne a gentle nudge. "Go and bask in heroism, young Yarne!"

Yarne stumbled a bit as Arthur nudged him, still glancing at his now-no-longer-broken hand. "Ah... y-yeah. I fought those monsters..."

He stiffened, eyes widening, as a loud cheer from the villagers was his response. "H-Huh?!"

"We can't thank you enough for your heroics. Here... this might not be much, but maybe it can help you."

Yarne's eyes widened further. "W-Whoa, I..."

Sakura giggled softly. "I would say you've earned that. Thank you again for saving our lives."

Subaki nodded, standing, looking a bit uncomfortable. "Y-Yes. You were quite brave."

"Three cheers for the most heroic bunny ever! Ready everyone?!" Elise said with a wink.

"Ready!"

"Hip-hip, hooray!"

"HIP-HIP, HOORAY!!!"

"Hip-hip, hooray!"

[Received a mysterious crown.]

[Received a Master Seal.]

[Received a Dracoshield.]

[Received a Heart Seal.]

Arthur was joining the cheering. Effie, meanwhile, just stood there with a smile.

Yarne's cheeks flushed crimson. He wasn't used to receiving this kind of praise. He nearly passed out where he stood, though Sakura taking his hand helped him stay steady.

After the cheers stopped, the villagers went back, leaving the group with their money and items.

Sakura spoke up first. "Yarne, if I may ask... what brought you to this place?"

"Well... I was looking for my dad." The taguel frowned slightly. "He went out to investigate this weird portal-thing but never returned, so I volunteered to look for him. I wound up here... I know he's somewhere around here, but... I'm not sure where exactly. What about you?"

Hana spoke up that time. "Corrin and Corrinne said that the 'true enemy' that was making our kingdoms fight was through the area we jumped into. So I'm assuming this is that place. It's pretty strange, though."

"I don't know about strange place; make it cooler and add in some Faceless-sprawning bogs and this might be the Woods of the Forlorn," Effie said. The other two Nohrians present agreed; if not for the tropical climate, it could indeed pass for those forsaken woods...

"But we mustn't just assume this isn't the place! Yarne here just might have fought off those... invisible soldiers that Corrin and Corrinne had told us about- so we just might be where we need to be!" Arthur injected.

"W-Well, those monsters that Yarne fought off were mostly invisible- Sakura said so- soooooo..." Elise said...

Vanessa gave a snort as she started eating grass out of the muddy ground.
