"Awwwwwww, okayyyyyyyy..." Rainflower overdramatically flopped over on the couch, only to sit back up when they noticed what Cat was holding. "Oh! Oopsie-doodle! You don't want that necrooze blood!"
Rainflower reached down and grabbed the jar of slime, only for Cat to tighten her grip on it, her curiosity adequately piqued. "C'mon, now! This stuff is nasty-wasty! It does bad stuff to cute little fellas like you!"
Cat still held tight, her adhesive paw pads never slipping. As the two nonchalantly fought over the jar, two of the butterflies started flying in circles around her, their wings brushing up against her fur, one of them eventually perching on her horn. Her flailing efforts to swat the pests away ultimately cost her the jar of blood.
"Thank you~!" Rainflower crooned as they flew back to the kitchen to put the jar away.
Mickey groaned and angrily swatted more of the butterflies away. "Hey, Ruinflower. Your bugs are tickin' me off."
"Aw, they're just trying to get to know you! Aflutterflies are really sweet! Here!" Upon rejoining the group, Rainflower pointed to each aflutterfly one by one. "This is Honeydew, that's Princess Cherry Blossom, that one's Brook Where Little Fish Swim, that's Sara Lee Cheesecake, here's Bright Summer Morning, this is Her Ladyship High Priestess Madame Orange Creamsicle of the Twilight Valley, and that's Steve!"
"Nice to meet you all," Mickey begrudgingly spat out before standing up and making for the exit. "Now bugger off."
When Rio asked his final question, Rainflower bounced with excitement, their smile growing impossibly wider. "Ooh! I have seen a lion anthro! I found him right outside the cavern, and when I told him that I make potions, he asked me to turn him into a dragon! And, well... HOW COULD I SAY NO TO THAT?! It was super fun! Why ya ask? Ya lookin' for him?"

Rio tilted his head and raised an eyebrow. Necrooze blood? That sounded suspicious. And Cat's attachment to it was no less unsettling.
Sure enough, Rainflower had confirmed that they were the one who turned Sam into a dragon, and they seemed particularly proud of that fact. "Yes, actually, we are looking for him. But given that you... apparently turned him into a dragon, I suppose we're looking for the wrong species in the wrong place, so we'll continue our search elsewhere. Thank you for the info- OW!"
Rio swatted away the aflutterfly that had landed on his neck and subsequently rubbed the sore spot where he had felt a pinch. "D... Did this butterfly just bite me?"

Yang was watching Cheesecake and Priestess flutter around her after leaving Mickey alone. This was one of the moments she was thankful for the lightweight long sleeve shirt and jeans she wore. "Rainflower. You know you're pets are being rude by biting your guests right?" she offered after Rio had been bit.

"Oh, it was just a little kiss!" Rainflower happily insisted. "They like you!"
"Well, I don't like them!" Mickey protested, forcefully swatting more of the garish butterflies away. "And to drop the forced politeness for a moment, I don't like you either! I'm out! Peace!"
"Marvy fab, my bromide!" Rainflower replied, throwing up a peace sign.
Cat was about to follow the group out, but she stopped herself and looked back at where Rainflower had left the jar of purple blood. Now that the subject had been broached, she wanted to know what was so bad about the stuff.

Rio sighed and mentally moved past the subject at hand. They had what they needed. If he ignored all the other forced weirdness, it would be over sooner. "Well, that's that, I suppose. We'll be on our............?!"
POOF
All of a sudden, Rio disappeared in a puff of glittery smoke. When it cleared, he was gone, leaving only Cat's discarded clothes to flop to the ground.

Yang yelped. "What in a NEvermore's Nest just happened?!?!?" she shouted after watching Rio disappear in a cloud of smoke.

Mickey jumped back when Rio went up in smoke. Likewise, Cat tensed up and let out a startled "ECH!" Needless to say, they were equally terrified by their teammate's disappearance.
"It's nothing to worry about!" Rainflower assured them. "He's perfectly fine!"
"FINE?!" Mickey stormed up to the ecstatic fairy, grabbing them by the shirt. "Don't screw with me, Tinker Bell! What the frig did you do with our mage?!"
Cat hunched up and chirp-growled at Rainflower, poised and ready to fight for Rio's return. Her trust in this hyperactive whackjob was already nonexistent; there was no way in the Doom Pits she was depending on them to turn her back to normal! She needed her mage!

"MICKEY!!!"
...?
That was Rio's voice... but... where was it coming from?
"MICKEY MICKEY MICKEY MICKEY MICKEYYYYYYYYYYY!!!"
An aflutterfly flew up to Mickey and hovered right in his face. Up close in personal, it was painfully obvious what this particular aflutterfly really was...
"HEY MICKEY!" Rio excitedly flapped his new green and gold butterfly wings. His robes appeared torn to look shorter and sleeveless, his shoes had vanished, and his starry, bright green eyes were almost disproportionately large for his head. "MICKEY, HI! CALM DOWN, BUDDY! I'M GREAT! MORE THAN GREAT! I FEEL FANTASTIC!!! THIS IS SO AMAZING, I'VE NEVER FELT SO ALIVE, EEEEEEEEEE!!!"

"R... Rio...??" Mickey could only stare in horror at the hyperactive butterfly that used to be his teammate.
"See? Perfectly fine!" Rainflower happily reiterated.
"THIS IS ABOUT THE FURTHEST FROM FINE A GUY COULD GET!"
"Calm down, Mickey!" On top of everything else, the fact that Rainflower knew his real name now was infuriating. "I can change him back, absolutely! But look at him! He's having so much fun!"
"HE'S DEMENTED, YOU WHIMSICAL PIECE OF CRAP!"
Cat was on edge as she watched everything unfold above her. The aflutterflies were still swarming, Rio had lost his marbles, and Rainflower was begging for a horn in their hindquarters. Things were quickly getting out of hand, and they were pretty hectic to begin with.

"AWW, C'MON, MICKEY, DON'T BE LIKE THAT!" Rio giggled, floating and dancing about in place. "EVERYTHING IS OKAY! IT'S SO WONDERFUL AND MAGICAL! YA GOTTA LIGHTEN UP, HAVE SOME FUN WITH IT! MWAH~!" The aflutterfly mage cheerfully leaned in and planted a kiss on the raccoon's nose.

Yang was still backing away from the chaos. Part of her was thankful for the fact she had long hair but at the same time she was mentally swearing to punch anything that touched her hair.

"Ack...! Gross, dude!" Mickey backed away from Rio and wiped his nose off. "Get ahold of yourself! And YOU!"
Mickey pointed right in Rainflower's face, his hostile gestures doing nothing to deter the blissful fairy.
"You better get to fixing this family-friendly drug trip before I shove............"
POOF
Just like that, Mickey disappeared in a glittery cloud too. For a moment, it seemed that he had vanished entirely, until...
"WHOOOOOOOO HAHAHAHAHAAAA!" With his new, shorter, ripped-up attire and alternating blood red and midnight blue butterfly wings, the tiny vampire fairy raccoon zipped up to Rio and flew in excited loop-de-loops. "HOLY GOSH, THIS IS AWESOME! RIO! OH MAN RIO! IS THE WORLD SPINNING OR DID IT JUST GET MORE AWESOMETASTIC?! WHEEEEEE!"
By this point, Cat was frozen in absolute terror, too blown away by this tidal wave of insanely perpetual ecstasy to even react to it.

"I KNOW, RIGHT?! EVERYTHING IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND MAGICAL AND WONDERFUL!" Rio swooned as he darted about the room, laughing hysterically all the while. Eventually he came to a halt, then turned his inch-wide smile on Yang and fluttered up to her face. "YANG! HI! OMIGOSH YANG!!!"
