Given that this plot is starting to build up some steam, I figured it prudent to put a little bit of information for any who would be curious to see.
What is FEFD?
In short, when Silves and I decided to app the male and female Avatars from Fire Emblem Fates, we had the idea of designing our own campaign. Something to address some of the issues we had with the game, and also that would provide a challenging experience while letting you enjoy the characters even more.
For those who have played Fire Emblem Fates, the plotline starts as normal with the Revelation path, with a few minor changes. You have both a male and female Avatar, Corrin and Corrinne, and both servants, Felicia and Jakob, from the start, leading up to Chapter 18. As the group stands before jumping... one more Branch of Fate happens.
[Continue into Valla] (Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation)
---> [Open the portal to another world.] (?)
The cinematic continues as normal, until an odd light appears as the group falls.
As the avatar wakes up, on the bottom screen, the proper title appears. Fire Emblem Fates: Dimensions.
So, what's different?
Quite a few things, actually, but first, were this in the game, here's a few of the baseline details.
This campaign would be limited to Hard or Lunatic, and Classic Mode only. If you were playing on Normal or Casual prior to taking this route, the game would change it to Hard from Normal, and Casual to Classic regardless of difficulty.
No battle saves. It's like the GBA Fire Emblem games that way.
Additional features! This is stuff intended to let you connect to the characters more; things like Army and Character Morale, more detailed cooking options, and City Events, among other things; these'll be covered later.
Much more difficult battles, often with different gimmicks.
More support chains.
and obviously, characters not from the FE series being involved, as well as some more characters from past FE games.
