It's a sincere question. Who doesn't love the beach!? Warm sands, a cool breeze. A nice swim, or laying back and enjoying the sun. Not to mention the potential for fanservice. A place like that? Who could hate it? Well. One person there today. See. All those great things about the beach? They don't apply when you're about the size of an ant. Warm sands like giant desert dunes that could bury you. A cool breeze that could blow you halfway across the beach if you're not careful. A nice swim if you don't mind the risk of drowning, or becoming a fish's lunch. And that potential fanservice is just as like to trample you half to death either by inattention or assuming you are in fact a bug. If it wasn't clear... Ranuen was not a huge fan of beaches. He hadn't even meant to come here. Shortly after his stint on the North Mountain, he'd been carried off by a windstorm, and in his attempts to find his bearings, had ended up here, in the summer sun. Not the greatest day, unfortunately. And it wasn't as though the beach was unpopulated, hence now not only did he have to battle his way past crabs and seagulls, but he had to try and avoid the avid beachgoers as well!
At least, unlike the North Mountains, he wasn't at risk of freezing to death for once. He only hoped that today would not necessarily result in severe bodily harm or an especially unpleasant experience. Knowing his luck? That wasn't likely. Then again, his luck hadn't been THAT bad lately. On the one hand, he'd run into that "angel" at the Club, which had been an exercise in infuriation for him, that he'd not been able to get a good shot in at her in the entire exchange between them. He made a silent vow to get back at the angel one day or another. On the other, he'd run into some pretty cool people on the North Mountain, and even had made a friend in the imp Frosty. And he'd gotten along well with the two Oni in the Club as well, though it seemed that they hadn't been able to pull through on their deal with him. His luck hadn't been that awful at all really, with only one seriously unfortunate event occuring. Maybe his luck was changing? Or maybe things were about to balance out today. Time would tell.
