"Okay, zhen." Enlightenment folded her arms behind her back, smiling at Chrys very matter-of-factly. "If zhat's the case, you explain vhy his body is shutting down. I'm sure zhere's a perfectly logical reason vhy a human body vould lose energy if it vas unable to absorb darkness."

Oh God... Toby paled up slightly when it occurred to him that he had been right.

Chrys gave a frustrated sigh as a few tendrils writhed and wriggled around her. "Please leave us alone. We never asked for this nor did we ask for your kind to attack," she offered. Her tone portrayed a hint of sadness over riding the anger she once had.

"Bitte... Please, hear me out," Enlightenment gently insisted as she leaned over the back of the couch again, keeping her gaze on Chrys. "Presently speaking, I am acting in Herr Toby's best interests. He needs shadows to maintain his body."

"I don't... I'm not..."

"Zhere's no telling vhat the consequences vill be if he is deprived of vital darkness due to zhe loss of his powers, zhough I imagine it would not be dissimilar to your human dehydration."

"Why... are you...?"

"Toby." Enlightenment shot him a smirk, regardless of the fact that he wasn't looking. "You should really be grateful to mein general. Not everyone agrees with zhe lengths he has gone to to ensure that you remain alive."

Chrys sighed as she got Toby his food. "Well there is a shadow form for the rider suit... though it might try to toy with him but it does act similar to that of what I can only assume is Praen'tos behavior."

"Interessant..." Enlightenment mused as she once again studied Chrys's belt. "Zhat's a good idea. Certainly vorth trying."

"What's the catch?"

"Hmm?" Her attention shifted back to Toby in a bright smile. "Vhat do you mean?"

"Why are you helping us?" Toby grumbled. "Besides... Sanguine apparently wanting to keep me alive?"

"Do I need any more reason?"

"Yeah. Enemies usually want what they consider threats to be killed some way, shape, or form," Chrys offered as she brought Toby his food.

"Thanks..." Toby sighed, gratefully accepting the plate.

"Enemies? Threats?" Enlightenment chuckled. "Melancholic and Choleric may see Herr Toby as such, but mein general believes quite zhe contrary!"

"Tell him to stop holding his breath," Toby mumbled after swallowing a small bite of eggs. "Nothing's gonna get me to join his army."

"You know ve don't need to breathe, silly." Enlightenment beamed at the duo. "More to zhe point, zhough, I just felt it necessary to inform you of zhe condition you are in. No vone here vants to see poor little Toby perish, now do ve?"

_{"...Grr stupid baby talking German demon mumble grumble..."}

Chrys sighed. "For once you have a point. I don't want Toby to be gone..." she admitted. "I want him here with me. Shadow powers or not. And it's an expression frauline."

Toby moved his arm slightly to peak at Chrys. Aside from the annoyance in regards to Enlightenment, he wasn't sure how to feel. Touched? Scared? He just felt so jumbled and exhausted that his half-hidden expression just came off as sad and helpless.

"I know it vas an expression, fräulein," Enlightenment replied, a particularly venomous bite to that last word despite her cheery grin. "I vas only teasing. I do zhat."

The Præt'nos girl then swiped Chrys's belt, circled back around the couch and knelt down next to Toby. "But enough talk! Let's get to doing somezhing about zhis!"

"Don't touch me," Toby hissed, waving his fork in her face.

"Okay. You vanna put it on? Be mein guest!"

The belt had been offered to him, but Toby just couldn't find the will to take it. He wasn't even sure what was holding him back, whether it be his lack of energy or... a sense of doubt.

"Toby you know I can't touch it with out it shocking me..." Chrys offered. "And I hope to the Elders that the Shadae form doesn't attempt to hijack you..."

[ParamountKeymaster]

"Ooh! Zhat vould be quite a nasty pickle!" Enlightenment laughed as she pondered that possibility.

"Rgh..." Based on that logic, Toby had to wonder why holding the belt didn't hurt Enlightenment. Meh... Præt'nos were weird. "Just put it on me, ya nutcase."

"As you vish!" When Toby slightly lifted his torso, Enlightenment happily wrapped the belt around his waist, weaving it through his belt loops and snapping it together tightly. She couldn't help but brush her hand over... certain areas of Toby's person, only giggling when she received a hard knee to the chin in retaliation.

"Zhere ve go!" She then stood up, placed her hands on her hips and studied Toby's new attire. "Wunderbar! Now how does it vork?"

Chrys sighed before going to fish the purple token. "Toby you're going to have to move a bit to do this. Not sure if it's going to shock me for trying to help you..." Chrys offered.

"O-Okay..." Toby shifted slightly, grabbing the belt buckle in preparation. All the while, Enlightenment just sat on the floor, smiling sweetly at the duo as she anxiously awaited the results of this test.

"Take the token from my hand and put it in the slot on the front of the belt. Then just tap it in and say Henshin. Yes I know it's weird but that's just how it works," Chrys instructed as she put the amethyst token in Toby's hand.

"Alright," Toby murmured, taking the token and sliding it into the buckle.

A small giggle from Enlightenment briefly drew his attention as he tapped the token in. "Shut it, you. Henshin."

"Hee hee..."
