Full Name: Jakob
Nickname(s): N/A
Age: 23
Height: ? (On the taller side)
Weight: ? (Fairly average for his height, if a little on the lighter side)
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alliance: Heroic Neutral
Home: Nohr
Franchise: Fire Emblem (Fates)
Physical Description
Jakob is a fairly tall young man with silvery hair in a ponytail in the back, and gray eyes, who is always dressed in a rather dapper suit. The suit itself is a bit tough to describe so please reference the picture at the bottom.
Weapons and Accessories
As a Butler, Jakob is capable of wielding hidden weapons and staves. Upon arrival to the island, he has in his possession a Barb Shuriken, a Wane Festal and a Sun Festal. The Barb Shuriken is a little weaker than the average Steel Shuriken but has a high critical hit ratio and does quadruple damage on critical hits. The Wane Festal lets him heal from a great range, and the Sun Festal is a slightly longer-range rod, though it’s not quite as potent as the average Mend staff.
Abilities/Powers
Jakob has no special powers, but he does have some combat abilities he can utilize.
Evasive Partner, his personal skill, represents his devotion to Corrin and Corrinne; when he’s either in Attack Stance or Guard Stance with them, supporting them, they take 3 less damage and gain 15 to avoid. His presence and combat advice makes them more defensive.
Resistance +2 is very straightforward; Jakob gains 2 to his resistance.
Gentilhomme represents Jakob’s more professional personality. All female units within two tiles of him (about two arms lengths) take 2 less damage. His words and presence act as a psychological boost to females near him.
Live to Serve represents Jakob’s passion for his duty; when he heals someone with a staff, he is healed for the same amount; psychologically, it gives him a boost to aid others in that way.
Finally, while he doesn’t remember getting this skill, he also possesses the Shelter ability, allowing him to pull an ally into cover behind him.
Weaknesses
While Jakob is by no means a bad fighter, his physical power is lacking compared to some more focused fighters. As such, he can’t take hits quite as well.
Skills
Beyond his combat skills, Jakob is a skilled butler. He makes excellent tea, and has almost a sixth sense regarding the needs of others.
He’s also an incredible cook, with results usually described as Exquisite.
Personality
On one hand, Jakob could be considered a consummate professional butler. He is very devoted to his work and is a steadfast servant. If you impress him, he will not hesitate to let you know that.
On the other, he often comes across as rude and abrasive to those he works with. He can be quite the unpleasant individual at times, but he does have a kind side. It just takes a bit to draw it out.
History
Jakob has been trained as a butler his whole life, and was one of three servants in the Northern Fortress in Nohr, serving his duty taking care of the royal child there.
Eventually, when they were called to Castle Krakenburg, Jakob went back to working at the main castle… until he eventually found his way to the Astral Castle that Corrin had been using as his base.
During a battle in the Ice Tribe village, Jakob had been fighting alongside the army, and was attempting to convince Flora to stop what she was doing… only to watch in horror as she killed herself via immolation. He would fight alongside Corrin and the Hoshidan army, bringing peace back to the world.
Or did he?
Jakob left the Northern Fortress rather early, supporting the princess, Corrinne, through most of her campaign through Hoshido, lending his aid during the invasion. Eventually, they revealed Garon’s true nature and brought peace back to the world, though at a terrible cost.
Once more now…
Jakob, when the twins split at the branch of fate, stayed with Corrin, while Felicia went with Corrinne to aid her. Ultimately, peace was won, though it was a heavily trying time for everyone involved…
Again.
Corrinne had asked Jakob to support Corrin, so he snuck away from Nohr, supporting Corrin as best he could, though he was rather baffled at the order. While the two butted heads at first, Jakob ultimately came to respect him, despite him being on the opposite side as his sister, who he was ultimately bound to.
As such, when Corrin died via self-electrocution, Jakob was, he would later say, uncharacteristically upset; he took Corrin's Dragonstone and made a stickpin for his suit lapel out of it. He took great joy in killing Iago in Corrin’s memory, and fought hard during the last battle, bringing peace to the world. While he never showed it, the war took a heavy toll on him.
Fortunately, it didn’t stick.
When the twins refused to take a side, Jakob, alongside Azura and Felicia, assisted them, getting to Valla and learning the truth of the whole situation. He did his part, helping the twins build trust among various people in both kingdoms, and ultimately, taking the leap of faith to Valla… only to arrive in an unfamiliar land. Jakob immediately knew that something was wrong, and took charge, going into the nearest sign of civilization with Felicia.
Other
Jakob wasted no time in getting acclimated to the new surroundings, getting employment at the Hotel alongside Felicia. He mostly takes care of the cleaning and cooking, and does an exemplary job.
