High above the geodesic caverns, Void City was in the midst of chaos. Hyperactive butterflies had taken to the streets, and their numbers were multiplying rapidly as their enchantment infected the island's citizens. For miles and miles, swarms of aflutterflies flew about in overjoyed revelry, making a ruckus and generally horrifying anyone who was still desperately clinging to their sanity. It was an epidemic of frightening yet adorable proportions.
Nothing out of the ordinary as far as Rainflower was concerned.
Completely oblivious to the mass panic their pets were causing on the surface world, the scrappy fairy blissfully continued their work, brewing a new potion over their self-contained fire pit. The plants and mosses in these caves were simply too fascinating not to experiment with; any thoughts of what they might accidentally create never occurred to Rainflower. They simply stirred in a few blue-green leaves, a vial or two of luminescent liquid, a pinch of this, a dash of that... anything that might make for an interesting concoction, all while smiling without a care and singing a bouncy tune in some strange, archaic language.
"Tah pai eis soroch Na o diggy diggy diggy di do Aft ai oum pol An eis nim xro ra eis xro Ko ti pramg ot eis ko Tah prov eis en noe soro Chos xo O diggy diggy diggy di do"
After a while, Rainflower scooped up a spoonful of their latest potion and took a sip, mulling it over with an inquisitive grin. "Hmm... A strange amount of heat for such a minty taste. Kinda tingly. Maybe I should add some- BLECH!!!"
Almost instantly, Rainflower's tongue burst out of their mouth, turned green with blue stripes, and morphed into an oversized, grotesque proboscis. Seeing this, the fairy burst out laughing, humorously making a verbal note of their predicament despite their words being so garbled that anyone nearby (which was assuredly nobody) couldn't have understood them. Soon thereafter, Rainflower grabbed a nearby flask and sucked up its contents through the tubed tongue, which effectively reverted them back to normal.
"Wow! That was a new one!" They quickly fluttered over to the fridge, opened it up and started digging through it. "Yeah, I definitely need to add some cyclor bile! Now THERE would be a REAL kicker!"

Yang sighed as she shouldered the backpack from Alex once more. She wasn't sure how she had gotten a head of the god tier but she had. She was looking for where she had marked the path on the way down the first time.
"This way," she offered to her traveling companion.

Alex quickly caught up with Yang, taking in the path they had thus far taken through the caverns... He recalled that he had only traveled this deep once in recent memory and that had been some time prior when he had heard a little about a temple at the very bottom of the island, supposedly some kind of temple that represented the very heart of the Island. He figured it would have been wise to give the place a look and see what kind of place it was... In the end, he expended some energy around the temple to hide it from anyone that would have come looking.
Diving back down into the catacombs had not been something he'd been expecting to do again, but coming back felt oddly nostalgic in that sense.
Though he kept a barrier around the two of them, he had let Yang lead the way so she could slowly remember the path she and her friends had taken to find... WHATEVER had caused the increasing epidemic up on the surface.
Still... There was something that was also familiar about this path... Something that caught his attention...
......
And upon seeing the few odd plants littering the entry way, he quickly realized why.s
"Hold on." Alex walked up to Yang and quickly placed a hand on her shoulder, gently asking her to wait as he had suggested before listening closely.
He heard numerous things from that spot, the call of wildlife, insects, birds and.... OTHER giant flying things letting out distinct calls on top of roaring belonging to none of the above three typically.
"... Is this thing in the Geodesic Caverns?" Alex remembered the Caverns, they had been an odd side trip from his route to the Temple of Heart. "Cause if that's so, then we're here."
They must've stumbled upon an entrance lower in the caverns one that opened up on the jungles as opposed to a cliffside that would allow them a look over the- HOLY SHIT-!!! "Get down!!"
Alex pulled Yang into a hug and pushed them both downflat to the ground, lowering the barrier to the ground as well-.
It was a good thing he did too since there had been a massive stream of chaotic energy flashing past them. And while his void barriers were an absolute defense, it likely would've at least made sure they were blasted away back to whereever it was going. At least with the barrier on the ground, it slid only slightly before buckling itself down against the flow.
......... The wave passed after a second, and the two were quick to get up.
"... Whoever's behind this... They're definitely here..." Well, at least the chaotic residue remained in the air... Now it could show them where the magical party was. "You okay Yang?" However, first thing's first, he checked Yang over. After the river of Chaotic energy that had flew over them and her own stint as one of those fairies, he figured it made sense to make sure she was still with him. "You're not hurt are you?"

"Yeah. You?" Yang replied as went from flat on the ground to kneeling. "Nothing broken or out of place?"

Alex smiled bashfully at Yang's concern. He had been so willing to give her concern but was still a little unused to getting it back. He gave her a kiss on the cheek to sway her own fears before taking her hand. "What, ya kiddin~? It's gonna take a lot more then that to take me down."
The two get back to their feet, Alex holding Yang's hand as they continued onward. "... Let's see... That wave looked like it came from this direction.... What exactly are we looking for Yang?"

"I marked the walls so Mickey, Rio, Cat, and I wouldn't get lost on our way out," she answered calmly. "I remembered you mentioning how easy it was to get lost down here sometimes."

Good for her for listening! At least with that in mind, he could look for some kind of sign they could follow in case the chaotic trace they already had wore off. Still, what kind of sign would Yang leave...
.... A second later, he hit himself for not considering the obvious upon seeing it on the wall. It looked like someone just fired off a round from a shotgun into the wall. It was a very Yang thing to do he figured. Still, at least they knew where they were going for now... Now they just needed to find this place and hope the person there could reverse the damage that had been done in the Aflutterfly invasion... Speaking of that, he sincerely hoped Lizzie and the others were okay as well. They certainly didn't deserve whatever the hell happened to Yang almost an hour ago... Not that it was anything that horrifying. If anything, it just looked like a prominent sugar high with all of the aftereffects of getting drunk... The only real downside was it was infectious... And it didn't look like it was about to STOP ANY TIME IN THE IMMEDIATE FUTURE... Which, of course was concerning for a NUMBER of reasons.
"Hmm, simple but effective." Putting the thoughts aside though, Alex smiles to his girl for the simplistic but still smart approach. "Even if that wave hadn't tried to wash us away, it looks like we still have a pretty good path to follow~! Come on, let's keep moving."
The thoughts were still well in mind as they continued onward, as evidenced by Alex keeping Yang close as they continued...
What would they find when they eventually found this place?

"Keep low. No telling what that demented fairy will do..." Yang offered. She currently felt naked and awkward without her weapons as a hand rubbed the opposite wrist. "We take a left up here and then I think it's their cavern."

"Got it." The thief nodded, making sure to strengthen the void barrier as they quietly approached...
Even now he could hear the almost manic laughing coming from a little further down the corridor..
---------------------------------------
And that's when he saw it, the cottage in the partial darkness, lit up by the many crystals lining the ceiling, allowing one to take a closer look at it... It was an oddly technicolor place, a construct that almost seemed to mirror, too well, what kind of personality must've lived inside... Though they didn't need much to imagine that...
Especially considering that the character was currently outside doing the STRANGEST ritual dancing Alex had ever seen. It definitely gave him the idea that this person was not.... All there.
".... Is that her?"

Yang nodded. "Them... Not sure if it's a dude or a chick but they're easily distracted," she offered.

"Doop-ee-doo..." Unaware of the guests that had wandered into their makeshift workshop, Rainflower continued to root through their refrigerator, digging so deep that eventually only their feet, butt and back wings were poking out. "Coulda sworn I still had some. Uhh... nope. Doot-doooo... Whoop! That ain't it! Hmm... AH-HA!!!"
The fairy promptly wriggled themself free, smiling wide at the small flask of pea soup-looking sludge they had recovered. "Perfection~!"
They then hopped out of the fridge, slamming it shut behind them, before finally looking up and spotting Alex and Yang. Seeing this, their smile changed from pleased to ecstatic; a subtle change, sure, but somehow it was still noticeable. "YANG!"
Faster than you could say "restraining order," Rainflower zipped up to the duo, wings fluttering as they hovered uncomfortably close, and immediately started talking a mile a minute. "HIYA! Good to see ya again! Wow, you changed back already? That was fast! How was it?! Didja have fun?!"
Yang didn't even have time to answer that before Rainflower poked her nose and shot her a playful smirk. "I figured out what you and your buddies were up to. You crazy kids wandered in here and started taking stuff from my stash. Stowing it in them hammerspace pants over there." They pointed to Cat's clothes hanging on the back of their couch. "Now I'm cool that you guys found my place and raided my candy bowl, but stealing's wrong, ya know. Naughty," they teased with a wagging finger despite not sounding the least bit agitated.
"But hey! I got everything back in order, so we're all good now! No worries!" After shooting Yang two thumbs up, Rainflower moved on to Alex, resting their chin in their hands. "So who's your friend?!"

............. Alex took a moment to take in this new figure. The one responsible for all of this chaos. The one that unleashed this hyperactive plague on Dimensional Island... He could honestly say he had not seen this reveal coming... Though in retrospect, maybe he should have. It would have taken an individual of this kind of energy to unleash a similar craziness.
".... Uuuh... HI... My name is Alex..." The Thief responded back slowly. "... First of all, I would like to apologize for my friends. I... DO agree that wasn't all that cool of them to do and what not." He gets up, recasting his void barrier around himself and Yang. ".... But... Now that we've gotten that out of the way I would like to ask you about something."
Alex held Yang's hand close to himself. "Well, actually two things.... If you don't mind?"
The boy had decided to speak slowly, deciding to not mention his title as the 'Thief of Void' so as to avoid whatever punishment befell the group before him.

Yang feigned a soft relieved smile. "Actually I was hoping to come back for my gauntlets. Didn't want you getting yourself hurt on them since they are made with iron and steel," She offered. It was a half truth but still some what a truth. "Your pets got out and are kinda terrorizing the city in the most colorful way imaginable...."

"Ooh, yeah!" Rainflower gave Yang a cheeky grin and pointed both fingers towards the couch. "Gauntlets are right over there with your bullfrox friend's clothes! Let her know that I am one hundred and eleven percent cool with her eating my sweets! I mean, what else would I leave them out for?! Ha!"
The androgynous fairy then tilted their head at Alex like an inquisitive owl. "Well, it's dandy to meet ya! Got some questions? I got some answers! Lay 'em on me, pally!"

..... Alex considered the energetic being before him a moment... So far he...she.. THEY? Responded pretty well to niceties... Maybe if he kept this up?
"Well... The gauntlets were one thing yes. So thank you for that." He motions for Yang to go grab them. "Also though.... There is another matter I'd like to discuss with you... Concerning Yangs other friends that you let loose on the city." He takes a breath. "I'd like you to cure them of... WHATEVER the heck you infected them with."
Rainflower was ABOUT to respond, but Alex held up his index finger to catch their attention. "YOU SEE.. THE THING IS... This kind of thing might have been all well and good... WHERE-EVER YOU COME FROM." He said, contemplating how many people would have actually been okay with this... "But I've been taking notice of just how... QUICKLY that little Epidemic of yours is spreading... And honestly, I'm a little... CONCERNED, given where we are... You see... We're in a place where... if this plague gets out any further then it already has... it might spread to such a point beyond even YOUR capability of curing it."
