Physical Description
In a general sense, Ren is rather notably oriental in appearance. Long black hair in a ponytail, almond shaped (pink colored) eyes, even his shirt of choice has an oriental flare to it, being a long sleeved green tunic with black and pink highlights. Rounding out his appearance are a set of white pants and black shoes that look rather close to dress shoes.
Weapons and Accessories
The storm flower- two pistols with sickle-like blades underneath. While they're usually hidden in his sleeves, the guns are used for rapid fire shooting as well as close range swipes.
Abilities/Powers
Like anyone on Remnant, Ren possesses a powerful, protective aura. Also like anyone, he has a semblance, or special power born from said aura. In his case, the power seems to repress someone's presence, making beasts like the grim unable to detect the person anymore as though they'd become invisible. The full extent of this power is unknown, but it doesn't seem to work against more intelligent adversaries, or non-monstrous animals.
Weaknesses
Nothing of note, really. He seems to seriously dislike large threats, though.
Skills
He's actually a decent chef, supposedly cooking a good number of things. Most famously, he makes pancakes.
Personality
He's honestly a very reserved and focused young man, but don't let that make you think he's not prone to doing fun things. He's just as eager to be silly as any of his friends, but he's also quick to protect those that can't protect themselves.
History
With the end of Volume 4, we finally have a decent backstory on Ren and Nora- the only two survivors of a horrible attack on Kuroyuri. A hideous Grimm, resembling a Nuckelavee, had wiped out the entirety of the village when the two were still young, the pair only surviving thanks to Ren's semblance. After that horrid turn of events, the two went on to become a hunter and huntress in training, eventually going on to be in Beacon academy- and as part of team JNPR.
The good times didn't last, though- Before the team could become part of the Vytal Festival Tournament, Nora had gone missing, Ren becoming increasingly paranoid without her being around. Eventually he spotted as portal weeks later, curiously approaching it before being engulfed, spiraling to Nexus Island.
Other
Though by now Ren and Nora are an official couple, right now the two are very close friends at most. The two were pulled from earlier in the timeline.
