"You really are the rudest monk I've had the misfortune to meet," Selena simply stated, although she drew her Iron Sword and started making her way towards the enemy force.
"Ah, Selena, I was getting worried about you. I'm so glad you're safe," Camilla said, her and Marzia making their way over towards the mercenary. Selena gave a slight blush. "But where is Beruka?"
"We ran into a bunch of those invisible soldiers. Settuna- I think that's what her name was- triggered a trap and got us out of that mess... Somehow. Beruka should be here with her any second now..."
"I see," Camilla said with a small smile. "I'm just glad that you're mostly unhurt. Shall we destroy these nasties?"
"Let's do it, Lady Camilla!"
More muffled voices could be heard from another section of the wall, but only if you listened closely. "I think... ssed... is that a..."
Selena made a jump for a wyvern rider with a sword, intercepting its strike before it could hit its target, followed by Camilla swooping in on Marzia, having switched to her Bolt Axe.

Azama simply chuckled. "Why thank you, Selena. Now then..."
As Hinoka rejoined the battle, the monk stayed back, hearing the muffled voices. "Hmm... what to do with you...?" He tapped his Festal's base at the wall in a few places, searching for a hollow spot... before whacking it with the rod. "Hah!"

After being struck with the Festal, the section of the wall fell apart, allowing... Setsuna and Beruka to fall out what appeared to have been a longer, more intricate tunnel. The blue-haired archer pulled her head up from the landing, seemingly unaware that they were in a fight. "Oh... where are we? Can we go down that tunnel again? I really felt good..."
The dark-clad girl pulled herself to her feet. "... I suppose even incompetence can succeed. But only once in a while." She simply dusted herself off, steeling for the battle that was sure to pick up.
"Ah, Beruka, you're alive. I'm so delighted to have both of my wonderful retainers around." Camilla smiled at Beruka, before noting the looks Beth was giving at the new arrivals. "Ah, allow me to introduce us. My name is Camilla, first princess of the kingdom of Nohr. These two are Selena and Beruka," she said, motioning to the girls in turn. "They're my retainers. Aren't they so cute and yet so tough?!"
"I'm still kind of mad for being tossed into battle like this," Selena said, sword ready. "But for Lady Camilla, I'll fight anyone!"
"I'll kill them all. For Lady Camilla," Beruka stated, eyes narrowed.

Azama laughed a bit. "Oh, excellent, you're not dead. Now then, Setsuna, I believe we have work to do. Don't dawdle now."
Hinoka nodded. "I'm Hinoka. First princess of the kingdom of Hoshido. You've already met Azama, and the other is Setsuna; they're my retainers. Now then... ah..."
"Do be careful," Azama said, making his way closer to the group, though he did take a strike from a Samurai who he hadn't noticed. Fortunately, a bolt of divine lightning fried him thanks to Divine Retribution. "Ah. Praise Hotoke."

Another sickening squick was heard off to the left of the party. "YO! YOU PEACOCKS DONE FANNING YOUR TAILS? WE HAVE AN INCOMING WAVE OF THESE THINGS!" called Beth as her rapier had been replaced with what looked to be a combination of sharp crystal claws and odd iridescent gray tentacles. Each claw was holding a heart of one of the now dead warriors as the Tentacles were batting off others.
A spectre wyvern was attempting to nom on one of the squiggly tentacles.

Twang.
An arrow was fired at the wyvern chewing at the tentacle, causing it to writhe for a moment before starting to fade, its rider following shortly after. "Thank you... Uh... what's your name? I couldn't have made that shot otherwise..."
At the unofficial recommencement of the battle, Marzia roared, Camilla swinging around the Bolt Axe. "Shall we?" She swooped down on an enemy Spear Fighter, causing it to stagger... Although she noted her attack seemed to be... oddly weaker than usual. Beruka followed up, bringing her Iron Axe down on the soldier, causing it to fade. Unfortunately, the ground crumpled around her. "Damn it..."
"Allow me."
[Pair up: Beruka -> Camilla
Support: B
Str +4, Spd +4]
Beruka climbed onto Marzia, looking for signs of her own wyvern.
"Let's get this over with!"
Selena jumped, embedding her sword into a Fighter.. Only to find that it could still move, and it was able to inflect a deep wound on her. She staggered back, just about reclaiming her sword. "D-Dammit... What was that...?"
[Selena's HP: 26 -> 5]
"I've never seen an axe like that... Certainly... Nothing that hit that hard..."

"Oh, goodness, and I just warned you to be careful, didn't I?" Azama's smirk could practically be heard as he began healing Selena up with his Sun Festal. Hinoka took the moment to finish off the Fighter with her Steel Lance.
"That was an odd weapon. I've never seen anything like that..."
"Just like that one?"
"What do you me- Augh!"
A Swordmaster had moved in in response to his ally falling, and had attacked Hinoka. Even with her Guard Naginata, that blow hurt... and from a sword of all things!
(Hinoka's HP: 27 -> 11)
Fortunately, at least, her counterattack managed to damage him somewhat. "O-Ow... what kind of weapon is that?!

"Snark boy get your ass in gear! We need all hands of fucking deck!" Beth called as her focus kept on. "And the name is Beth."
"FRAY MOTIF! UNDER THE RADAR!" she called out hoping to get the group to work together a bit better before going to strike at other things. It was clear from what Camilla had seen earlier that something was off. "I suggest you newbies keep up if you want to get out alive." The tone was cold and oddly calculating given the situation as another phantasmal wyvern was strangled and 2 more sword wielders were pierced.

A feeling of strength surged through the foreigners...
A feeling of empowerment.
Setsuna drew back her bowstring, letting the arrow fly towards one of the entrapped wyverns. "Here we go...!"
The arrow hit the creature with enough force that it actually dissolves upon impact. "Victory, victory..." She sang.
[Setsuna's Strength: 12 -> 18]
"How lovely... She's strong, and absolutely adorable," Camilla said in a soft tone... Before bringing down her Steel Axe on one of the trapped Samurai, shattering it.
[Camilla's Strength: 16 -> 24]
As Beruka searched for her own wyvern atop Camilla's, Selena took it upon herself to attack the second Samurai. "Let's get this over with!" With a single jumping swing, she bore down on the trapped soldier, knocking it back as much as it could.

"My ass is already, as you say, 'in gear'. I can only channel healing magic so quickly, after all, and the Naginata I carry is merely for show at the moment." Azama didn't seem bothered by Beth's command, merely raising his Rod aloft again, healing Hinoka back to full health.
Hinoka let out a shout as the energy surged through her, stabbing through the Swordmaster with the Lancereaver, spinning it around. "That's more like it!"

Beth huffed. In her mind a monk of any sort should be able to fight not just heal. "Beruka, due east 6 meters. There's something connected to you that way," Beth called. "Looks kinda big."
A tentacle was slashed causing her to hiss in annoyance as it slowly started to regrow and a Samurai managed to land several blows with a katana.
[Beth- 55 > 45]
"You're gonna regret that," Beth taunted before running seven other tentacles through the ninja.

"... I see. Zeiss." Beruka gave a curt nod to Beth, as Camilla maneuvered Marzia over to the approaching orange dragon. The smaller girl stood up, drawing the Killer Axe.
A pegasus knight with a strange sword came to challenge her. A glint appeared in Beruka's eyes as Marzia flew up in a loop, and she jumped off the black wyvern...
"Finishing the mission!"
She brought the Killer Axe down on the rider, balancing on the fading pegasus until the orange wyvern was close, landing on it. "Let's go, Zeiss. Time to kill..." The wyvern gave a low growl of agreement.
"Ready, Beruka?"
"Ready."
[Pair up: Selena -> Beruka
Support: B
+2 Skl, +4 Spd, +2 Def]
Riding on Zeiss, Selena readied her sword, balancing on the wyvern to slice away a Fighter. "Like we'd lose."
An arrow unexpectedly flew past the duo. "Are you TRYING to get us killed?!" Selena yelled.
"No... I was aiming at... That..."
The arrow flew past a Revenant Knight, mount's eyes glowing a sickly shade of reddish purple. The rider rose up, holding an unfamiliar spell...
Luna
The spell was meant for Beruka, but Camilla and Marzia shoved them out of the way. She let out a scream as the fire spell burned at her...
[Camilla's HP: 28 -> 1]
"N-Nrgh... That hurt... so... much..." She was struggling to keep a grip on her axe...
"Azama! Hurry up and heal Lady Camilla! Do something at least...!!"

Azama grimaced, nodding. "Of course." With a wave of his Rod, she was healed, somewhat...
(Camilla's HP: 1 -> 17)
"Lady Camilla, everyone, I'd suggest you fall back for a moment. Give me a chance to try and Enfeeble that Revenant Knight."
Hinoka grimaced, seeing Camilla's injury. "He's right. Get back and stay behind me. I can handle magic better than you can." She raised her Guard Naginata towards their opponent, moving in front of Camilla and the others. "What was that power, though...?"
There was a rather loud cracking sound. "...Oh, crap." With a quick motion, Hinoka pulled Azama onto Catria's back, just as the part of the bridge under the monk crumbled away. "The bridge is falling apart!"

Beth's attention snapped towards the bridge. "GET TO SAFETY!" she ordered before going to keep up with the riders. Sure she was starting to bleed but it didn't seem to bother her.
"Grouping like this makes us easier targets. Heal the wounded and I'll get this bastard," she offered before noticing the looks from the royals and their retainers. "Lady Camillia, Lady Hinoka. I assure you that I have dealt with bigger threats."

"She's right..." Although some of Camilla's strength had returned and her axe hand wasn't shaking anymore, she still felt a bit... uneasy. "Everyone, hang back. I feel as though we can trust her on this... But it wouldn't hurt to be ready."
With that, Beruka transferred Selena to Camilla. "I suppose I have the unenviable task. Monk. Get on."
"I'm sure Lady Camilla's right, but..." Selena looked down a bit.
Another arrow flew past, striking the Revenant wyvern in the wing, causing it to thrash... But no real damage. "Lady Hinoka, are we going to keep fighting? I think we're... I dunno... Can we win?"
