Physical Description
Beruka is a small, pale-skinned woman with short medium blue hair and sharp purple eyes. She wears a black tied headband, and a suit of faded purple, almost dark grey armour, with a tattered purple scarf.
Weapons and Accessories
Beruka arrives with an Iron Axe and a Killer Axe. The Iron Axe is fairly unremarkable stat-wise, although it does not impair her combat abilities in any way. The Killer Axe, while slightly cutting into her evasion when wielded and being only about as strong as the Iron Axe and a bit less accurate, increases the power of Beruka’s critical hits thanks to its serrated design.
Abilities/Powers
Beruka is a normal human. Anything she can do is more of a skill.
Weaknesses
While on her wyvern, Zeiss, Beruka is very vulnerable to arrows, dragon-killing weapons such as Wyrmslayers, and magic, especially wind magic. She additionally lacks raw power behind her blows for an axe-wielder, and is reliant on effective damage, critical hits, or her personal skill to do serious damage.
Skills
Beruka is a skilled assassin, having been trained as one since her youth, and is considered a genius in the field. She is trained in the use of axes and clubs, although she prefers axes. She also has a detailed knowledge of various poisons.
Beruka’s talents as an assassin are showcases through her personal skill, “Opportunist,” which has the following effect: “When attacking a foe who can’t fight back, this unit inflicts +4 damage.” When presented with a target that can’t retaliate, Beruka takes the opportunity to apply more force to her blows.
Strength+2 is very straightforward; Beruka’s physical attacks hit a bit harder than they normally would.
Lunge showcases Beruka’s skills as a wyvern rider. By altering the force of her blows, Beruka can knock back an opponent to her position, taking their place in the process.
Finally, Beruka’s last skill, Axefaire, is one she does not remember getting, and it grants her +5 damage dealt when equipped with an axe. Beruka’s skill with an axe lets her add more force to her blows.
She is also a passable cook, although the food tends to end up on the salty side.
Personality
Beruka comes off as a cold-blooded, stoic, unfeeling, and distant. Thanks to her upbringing, she is unable to understand the intentions of others, which often lead to her becoming suspicious. She does not devote any energy towards hobbies, and is known to be idle when not awaiting orders. Beruka also prefers working alone, and feels as though she cannot perform her duties with others around.
Despite this,, Beruka is uncomfortable with her emotionless image and her inability to feel regular human emotions, and is known to be envious towards others who can freely express their feelings.
History
Beruka received very little love from her parents, and was thrown out into the streets at a young age. At some point before the age of ten, Beruka was forced to make her first kill. In her youth, she was adopted by a notable assassin, and was trained in the art, although she never received any love from her foster father, either. She became a notable assassin in her own right, and one day took an assassination contract on him, performing the deed with no remorse. Later, she received a contract to kill the elder Nohr princess, Camilla, but the princess instead hired her on the spot as her retainer. Taking up some of Camilla’s old armour, Beruka became a wyvern rider in service to Camilla.
When the Yato stayed in Hoshido, Beruka fought alongside Camilla and Selena on two separate occasions, once in Cheve, and once in the underground streets of Windmire, but was defeated both times. After the battle in Windmire, Berula followed Camilla’s orders to trust Corrin, and helped carry her liege back into her quarters to rest.
When the Yato left for Nohr, Beruka arrived alongside Camilla and Selena to reinforce Corrinne in the port of Dia, which was under siege by Hoshidan troops. Despite being initially hurt that Corrinne had forgotten them, Beruka helped fight off the invasion and stayed with her section of the Nohrian army for the rest of the campaign. They eventually brought peace back to the world, but at a great price.
When neither side was chosen, however, Camilla was dispatched, alongside Beruka, Selena, Flora, and some Ice Tribe fighters to ambush and kill Corrin and Corrinne at sea. Beruka was defeated in the resulting battle, but survived, and when Camilla joined the twins, Beruka accompanied her liege.
When it came time to jump into the Bottomless Canyon, Beruka jumped alongside Selena, Azama, and Setsuna… Landing seemingly in peril, until a trap Setsuna sprung unexpectedly got them out. She fell down a tunnel with Setsuna, Selena and Azama having gone down another...
