Physical Description
Setsuna has short, medium blue-green hair covering her eyes, teal eyes, and a spiky white headband. She wears a medium blue, feminine version of an archer’s uniform, along with teal stockings underneath her skirt. She generally has a calm, blank expression.
Weapons and Accessories
Setsuna arrives with a Steel Yumi, and a Sidelong Yumi that she found “lying around.” The Steel Yumi is a fairly powerful bow, although the draw weight of the bowstring slightly impedes her ability to double-attack. The Sidelong Yumi is a fairly weak bow that prevents her from making follow-up attacks or triggering offensive skills thanks to its awkward construction, but unlike most of its kind, it can attack at close ranges. The curvature of these weapons invokes the shape of the moon, increasing Setsuna’s resistance by two when equipped.
Abilities/Powers
Setsuna is a normal human. The closest thing she has to a power is her uncanny ability to fall into traps.
Weaknesses
Setsuna is more than a bit on the fragile side, so she relies on dodging attacks to survive. While she has enough physical strength to pull back her bowstring, Setsuna lacks the raw strength to inflict much damage her hit.
She is also prone to falling into traps, much to her teammates’ dismay.
Skills
Setsuna is naturally quiet and makes little noise when travelling, making her excellent at stealth, even able to startle ninjas. She is trained in the use of yumi and bows, although she prefers yumi. While she CAN cook decent food if she focuses hard enough, usually she ends up distracted and the food ends up disgusting.
Setsuna has a number of skills that can manifest in combat. Her personal skill, Optimistic, reflects her easy-going nature. When healed with a staff, Setsuna recovers 1.5 times the amount she normally would. Her tendency to see the bright side allows her to benefit more from staff-induced healing.
Skill+2 is easy to explain; Setsuna’s attacks are more accurate and critical-prone than usual.
Quick Draw grants her +4 damage dealt when she initiates combat. When controlling the battle’s pace, Setsuna takes advantage of the initiative, drawing back her bowstring a bit more to allow the arrow to inflict more damage.
Finally, while she doesn’t remember getting this skill, Setsuna also possesses the skill Golembane, which gives her combat expertise against Stoneborn, mechanists, and puppets, increasing her damage out against such targets.
Personality
Setsuna projects an air of calm and quiet, though not because of discipline; rather, this is the result of her absentminded nature. This carefree attitude leads to her often wandering into traps, blissfully unaware of the danger presented. Even when trapped, Setsuna reacts with a sort of bemused apathy. This same obliviousness also results in her being blind to sarcasm.
However, this very same carefree nature allows her to be fearless on the battlefield, not intimidated by her foes. When she actually focuses, Setsuna can quickly learn new skills. Finally, she is aware of the danger traps pose; due to having been handed everything her life, she lacked a sense of excitement, something that falling in traps allows her to have.
History
Setsuna was born into a noble Hoshidan family, and saw every single desire fulfilled almost instantaneously. This lead to her becoming very carefree and generally absentminded. One day, she fell into a hunting trap by accident… Despite the obvious issue, Setsuna felt excited for the first time in her life, and from there, regularly got caught in traps. At some point, she was hired as a retainer for Princess Hinoka.
When the Yato stayed in Hoshido, Setsuna, en route to Izumo with Hinoka and Azama, was caught in desert sand when the Wind Tribe attacked in a case of mistaken identity. After being rescued by Hinoka after Azama failed to provide any help, she joined her liege and Corrin in the fight against Nohr, eventually helping in the final battle against King Garon to restore peace.
When the Yato stayed in Nohr, however, Setsuna saw how poorly Hinoka took Corrinne’s defection to Nohr, and stopped dragging her feet. She fought alongside her liege and Azama twice, once at the Sevenfold Sanctuary, and once more at the final defence of Castle Shirasagi, although she was defeated both times. At Shirasagi, at Corrinne’s insistence (and with some help from Camilla), Hinoka went into hiding for the rest of the war, Setsuna accompanying her.
When neither side was chosen, Setsuna and Azama helped Hinoka guard Castle Shirasagi, before accompanying her, Ryoma, and Scarlet to the Bottomless Canyon. She helped fight off two Nohrian armies; Hans’s and Iago’s.
When it came time to jump, Setsuna jumped alongside Azama, Selena, and Beruka. Upon landing, the four were attacked by invisible soldiers… But a trap that Setsuna triggered got them out of that danger. She fell down a tunnel with Beruka, Azama and Selena having fallen down a different one...
