Full Name: Odin
Nickname(s): Odin Dark (amongst many others)
Age: 19
Height: ? (Tall)
Weight: ? (A bit on the heavier side due to muscle)
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alliance: Heroic
Home: Nohr, homeland unknown
Franchise: Fire Emblem (Fates)
Physical Description
Odin has short, somewhat messy blonde hair, grey-blue eyes, and stands taller and broader than most. His outfit is… rather unconventional, so the picture is a better visual aid.
Weapons and Accessories
Upon arrival, Odin is equipped with a Fimbulvetr tome and a Lightning tome from his home world. Fimbulvetr is a moderately powerful ice-based spell, although the concentration required to cast it makes it harder for him to make follow-up attacks, as well as rendering him slightly less evasive. The Lightning tome is a very weak spell, but when Odin initiates combat with it, the amount of attacks he puts out doubles.
Abilities/Powers
Odin is versed in magic for both combat and mundane purposes, and can create (and name) new spells with enough research and practice.
Odin’s passionate nature takes the form of his personal skill, Aching Blood, which has the following effect: “Crit +10 when using a custom weapon with a name at least 12 characters long.” Odin’s philosophy of treating weapons as allies rather than tools comes into play here, as the perceived bond between him and his weapons allows him to land critical hits more often.
Heartseeker is a reference to Odin’s nature as a dark mage, with the following effect: “Adjacent enemies suffer -20 Avo.” His presence inspires dread in his foes, causing those immediately near him to become less evasive.
Odin’s body gives off an aura, more specifically, a Malefic Aura that causes enemies within two squares of him (about two arm’s length) to take +2 damage when hit by a magical attack.
Finally, while he has no memory of learning this skill, Odin also has Duelist’s Blow, which has the following effect: “Grants Avo+30 when the unit initiates combat.” When controlling the battle’s pace, Odin is much trickier to hit.
Weaknesses
Unlike most mages, Odin actually has decent physical strength and defence. This does, however, mean his magical attacks aren’t as potent as most others, and he is more magically vulnerable.
Skills
Odin, due to at his worst living in his own fantasy world, has a vast imagination and can come up with fanciful names on the spot. He is also a writer, and is known to keep a notebook of ideas and names. Due to regarding his weapons as allies rather than mere tools, Odin is also well-versed in the upkeep and maintenance of weapons.
He can also cook, although the only way to describe his dishes would be… “Chosen-y.”
Personality
A colourful individual, Odin speaks in an over-the-top, often melodramatic fashion that can be difficult to understand at times. He is eager to participate in battles, blaming it on his “aching blood,” although this is due to a desire to prove himself in battle and hone his combat skills. Odin thinks of his weapons as weapons as allies rather than just mere tools of war, believing that naming a weapon gives it a life of its own and makes it stronger in combat.
He is, however, when placed in a life-or-death situation, capable of dialing down his bombastic tendencies for the sake of communication with any allies, or when addressing those that he views as his highest superiors (the exception is Leo). Odin is also better at grasping new situations better than most people and can adapt quickly to a changing environment.
History
Odin’s history is, for the most part, unknown.
A few years in the past, he showed up at the Nohrian court alongside Selena and Laslow, where King Garon named him one of Leo’s retainers. Leo, suspicious of this new arrival, intended to get rid of Odin, sending the mage out on a series of impossible tasks. However, Odin finished these missions (and enjoyed them), gaining Leo’s respect in the process.
When the Yato stayed in Hoshido, Odin fought alongside Leo and Niles in the Woods of the Forlorn against Corrin and several Hoshidans, but was defeated, although he survived. After the war ended with the death of Garon, Odin resigned from his post to return to his homeland alongside Selena… The first time, to take Laslow to be buried in his homeland, but the second time, Laslow accompanied them alive…
When the Yato left for Nohr, Odin, alongside Niles, was sent out to aid Corrinne in putting down the Ice Tribe rebellion. He accompanied Corrinne for the rest of the campaign, reuniting with Leo in Cyrkensia. He assisted in restoring peace to the world, although it came at a great price.
When neither twin chose a side, however, Odin did not go out into battle until Leo commanded, in assisting the twins against a Nohrian army lead by Iago. While he was nearly defeated several times, Odin assisted the best he could.
When it came time to jump into the Bottomless Canyon, Odin jumped in alongside Niles, Oboro, and Hinata… But when they landed on a snowy mountain peak, he got the feeling that something was off...
