History
(Note: Fan wank ahead)
Eirika was born in Renais with her twin brother, Ephraim, and was trained to be a diplomat. During one visit to the Grado Empire, she and her brother befriended the crown prince, Lyon, becoming fast friends. Peace had ruled Magvel for 800 years…
Until Grado suddenly attacked Renais. With Ephraim having gone missing, Eirika was taken from the castle by one of the knights, Seth. She fought off a Grado attack en route to friendly Frelia… Where, from the Frelian king, Hayden, she learned that her father, King Fado, had died in the taking of Castle Renais. She intended to unite with her brother on the Grado-Renais border, taking a southeastern path through occupied Renais and into Grado. Upon reaching Fort Renvall, she and Seth encountered Orson, one of the knights who had been travelling with Ephraim…
Until he was revealed to have betrayed Renais for Grado. Grado troops poured in, forcing Eirika’s forces to fight back. She ran into Ephraim halfway through the battle, and after defeating the Grado commander, they returned to Castle Frelia to regroup. With Grado targeting the Sacred Stones, Ephraim took a dispatch of soldiers to Grado Keep with the intents of killing Vigarde, the emperor of Grado, and ending the war; Eirika, meanwhile, was to alert Rausten of the dangers posed by Grado. Eirika had to make her way through the Republic of Carcino, as there was no easier route.
Along the way, Eirika’s forces rescued Prince Innes, who had been en route to alert Jehanna, as well as a pair of mercenaries, Gerik and Tethys, followed by a sellsword named Marisa. Encountering the Carcino elder Klimt, who told her that Carcino was split between supporting Renais and supporting Grado. Passing through the Caer Pelyn mountains, she gained the aid of Saleh, a master sage, and his pupil, Ewan. After that, she ran into one of the Grado generals, Glen the Sunstone, who had false stories of her killing innocents. Eirika convinced Glen to let them pass… Unbeknownst to her, Valter would kill Glen shortly after.
They were then attacked in a mountain valley by Aias, a mercenary working under Caellach the Tiger Eye. Fending off the attack, the Knights of Rausten arrived, a relief to her besieged forces. Arriving at Jehanna Palace, Grado forces under the command of the turncoat Carlyle were already besieging the castle. Eirika fought her way through the palace, with Joshua, a mercenary that had joined back in Serafew, killing Carlyle. However, they were too late to save Queen Ismaire, who died in the arms of her son… Joshua. She handed over the Sacred Twins of Jehanna, Audhulma the ice blade, and Excalibur the wind tome… Only then, was the palace set on fire. Eirika’s group barely escaped the hall with their lives…
Only to find out that Grado forces, lead by Valter the Moonstone and Caellach the Tiger Eye, were attacking. Realizing they had no choice, Eirika fought her way through enemy fire to reunite with Ephraim’s forces, who had arrived shortly after the battle began. Joshua would kill Caellach to avenge the death of his mother, and Cormag, a wyvern rider who had joined in Hamill Canyon, killed Valter, avenging Glen. Reunited, they moved towards Renais.
Renais was in a state of complete disarray, with Orson, the turncoat knight that had been entrusted to rule the conquered kingdom, had been neglecting his duties. Taking back the castle and Renais, the twins’ bracelets revealed a hidden passage under the throne, to a chamber hosting the Sacred Twin weapons of Renais, Sieglinde the lightning blade and Siegmunde the flame lance, and the Sacred Stone of Renais…
After a battle against a horde of gorgons in a volcanic region, Eirika had gotten separated from Ephraim, who was in a depressed state when they reunited… Lyon had frozen Ephraim in place, before taking Renais’s Sacred Stone and shattering it. With only one Sacred Stone left, the group made their way to Rausten. In the middle of the night, their forces fought off an attack by Grado remnants, lead by Riev the Blood Beryl. After that, the group made their way to Darkling Woods… In the Black Temple of the Demon King, the twins battled Lyon, who had been possessed by Fomortiis the Demon King. Lyon was then sacrificed, and Fomortiis was reborn… Fomortiis’s soul was sealed into the Stone of Rausten, and they destroyed his body, preventing any resurrection in the future. Peace, it seemed, reigned at last…
An earthquake struck Grado shortly after the end of the war, causing Renais to support its former attacker in reconstruction. During the reconstruction efforts, Eirika was wed to Seth, the knight who had protected her since the beginning. Things were peaceful, it seemed, until reports of a strange portal in the Lagdou Ruins came in. Thinking it strange, Eirika went to investigate it alongside Ephraim, and found something far greater than expected...
