Physical Description
Pieter usually wears light brown monk robes, with a cloak over his back that hides his eagle wings. He has piercing blue eyes and blond hair. His robes are fairly flowy, and he keeps quite a few things within them.
Weapons and Accessories
Pieter does not go anywhere without his bo staff, as it is one of his preferred means of fighting. He is capable of fighting with his bare fists if need be, but he still prefers the feel of a weapon in his hands. Other than that, he doesn’t carry much.
Abilities/Powers
He does, however, carry a magical tome and staff with him, as well; given the source of his transformation into his current state, he is capable of using magic to great effect. He also, being an eagle tengu, has incredibly sharp vision.
Being what he is, one could say he has ‘Enlightenment Superpowers’. He is capable of analyzing things in his vision range and is very aware of things going on around him.
Weaknesses
Pieter is vulnerable to the powers of wind magic, and has weaknesses akin to a ‘flying’ unit; that is, he’s vulnerable to arrows.
Skills
Pieter was a musician as a human, and retains that knowledge as a tengu. He is a skilled cook and enjoys cooking.
Personality
Pieter’s personality hasn’t changed too terribly much from when he was a human to becoming a tengu. He still comes across as somewhat aloof and cool quite often; he is in many ways the ‘Straight Man’ to Arti’s antics.
He also tends to come across like he knows more than he lets on, though that’s not always the case. While he is a very serious-minded individual, he is also quite caring; a lot of his original human self is still there in his new form.
Sometimes, he gets a little too into fights, which is why he normally tries to avoid doing so.
History
Pieter was at one point an ordinary human, born in Minnesota, growing up there. He had a fairly normal life until not long after his 23rd birthday. For his birthday, he and some friends had gone on a trip to the Japanese countryside. While there, they’d gone on a climb up one of the mountains, and Pieter had gone to take a look at a shrine, to pay respects.
When he did… he found himself somewhere unusual; he’d been pulled into the world of yokai, by a group of Tengu. Believing him to have a strong spirit, the leader of the group had him trained… and over time, he was transformed, becoming a Daitengu like him. He wasn’t sure how long he’d spent in the other world, but when he returned… it was like no time at all had passed in the ‘real world’.
Fortunately, he’d already taken some steps to hide his changed nature. None of his friends were any the wiser, and after he returned home, he made some plans. He knew of other worlds, and he was sure that a certain nexus of worlds existed. So, using his new powers, he made his way from his world, arriving at a certain Island...
Before long, he'd crossed paths with a genetic experiment, and the two animal-people became fast friends, despite their differences.
