Physical Description
Eris largely resembles an average barn owl, albeit with steel blue feathers and oddly expressive eyes.
Weapons and Accessories
None, aside from her beak and talons.
Abilities/Powers
Chaos owls naturally possess the ability to absorb raw magical energy, which can be utilized either as nutrition, much like food, or offensively in an explosive burst, the size of which depends on how much energy is stored.
Weaknesses
She cannot absorb spells; only the raw magic produced in their wake. She's pretty much an ordinary owl otherwise.
Skills
On top of being self-sufficient when it comes to survival and self-defense, Eris will often display puzzle-solving and insight learning skills far beyond that of a typical animal. She's also a proficient navigator, hunter and flyer, as one might expect.
Personality
Eris is a loyal and loving pet, ready and able to support and even defend those she cares about. As stated above, she is highly intelligent, grounded, and well aware of her surroundings, making her able to carry out complex orders and think on her feet with ease. She's quite proud and dignified, even displaying annoyed or sarcastic behavior around those she dislikes, and will not stand for any sort of mistreatment towards her or her allies.
History
Eris was born and raised in captivity, bred to be a mage's pet. She was promptly adopted and presented to Riordan von Felden on his sixteenth birthday. Since then, she has been Rio's loyal companion, offering him affection, delivering messages for him, travelling with him, and absorbing his excess outputs of magical energy. When the duo ventured into Unity together and met Cat Cackowski, Eris was forced to tag along when Cat, Rio, and later Mickey teamed up to save the World. She's been living and travelling in the camper van ever since.
Other
Like barn owls, chaos owls do not "hoot." They can, however, produce a wide range of sounds mostly consisting of chirps, trills, squawks and screeches.
