Full Name: Hinata
Nickname(s): N/A
Age: 18
Height: Average height for his age
Weight: Medium-light, due to muscle
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alliance: Heroic
Home: Hoshido
Franchise: Fire Emblem (Fates)
Physical Description
Hinata’s outfit is similar to the normal Hoshidan Samurai outfit, but with some modifications; he wears a sleeveless top, white and black with a purple front design, with a pair of armguards, a black sash, and loose-fitting white pants, leg guards, and sandals. He has brown eyes and light brown hair which he wears in a topknot.
Weapons and Accessories
Hinata has two weapons upon arrival to the island; the first is his trusty Steel Katana, which, while heavier than average, making it difficult to evade attacks and double-strike enemies, is decently powerful; due to its design, it also is a little harder to defend with, but easier to wield, boosting his effective speed.
The second is a unique-looking sword called a Dual Katana. The design of the blade makes it effective at catching lances and naginata, and blocking shuriken and daggers, making it very effective against those weapons, but its design makes it vulnerable to the force from axes, clubs, and arrows.
Abilities/Powers
Hinata doesn’t have any sort of special powers, just a few skills for combat.
Weaknesses
Being a Samurai, Hinata isn’t exactly built for durability. He doesn’t take hits too well, especially from lance weapons.
Skills
Hinata has several skills for combat with varying effects.
His Personal Skill: Triple Threat works as follows: When Hinata takes damage from a sword, lance, or axe when he’s below half-vitality, he deals half the damage taken back to the attacker. Its other name, ‘Vain Struggle’, explains it a little better. When he’s injured, Hinata fights harder; weapons like that invite a counterattack in his strikes.
His next skill, Duelist’s Blow, raises his Hit by 30 when he initiates combat. Controlling the pace of the battle gives Hinata a greater chance to land his strikes.
Vantage gives him a guaranteed first strike when he’s below half vitality on his enemy’s attack. His reflexes kick in, and he can surprise an opponent when they’re going after him.
Finally, he has Counter, though he didn’t remember learning it. This skill lets Hinata deal full damage back to an adjacent opponent striking with a physical weapon. He turns their attack back on them if he isn’t defeated, damaging them in return.
Personality
Hinata has a fiery spirit, and is fiercely devoted to Takumi, his Lord that he serves. He puts a lot of faith in his abilities, and is a bit coarse, but cares deeply about his friends. More than anything else, he wants to improve to be able to help Takumi.
History
Hinata’s family has been heavily connected to the Hoshidan royal family for many years, and Hinata himself was just the latest in a long line to serve the royals. He mobilized alongside the rest of Hoshido’s forces after the murder of Queen Mikoto.
He and Oboro, separated from Takumi during the chaos at Izumo, wound up meeting up with Corrin’s forces, and they joined him after requesting his aid in finding Takumi. Afterward, Hinata fought to end the conflict with Nohr, fighting valiantly the whole way through.
Meanwhile, running concurrently alongside the above…
Hinata first encountered Corrinne and her forces in the Port Town of Dia, fighting alongside Oboro and Takumi to keep her from leaving to Notre Segasse. Despite their best efforts, however, they were defeated and had to fall back.
He would later fight against Corrinne again at the Great Wall of Suzanoh, attempting to keep them from breaching into Hoshido. Despite fighting as hard as he could, Hinata ultimately was killed in combat.
Fortunately…
When Corrin chose to fight for Hoshido, Hinata battled alongside him, despite the resistance encountered from Corrinne. Ultimately, Hoshido won the war, and Hinata continued to train with the blade, though saddened by all the deaths.
Hold a moment…
When the Yato left for Nohr with Corrinne, Hinata fought against her on the two occasions aforementioned, with one change. While Oboro died at the hands of Corrinne’s forces, Hinata did not. His position was worked around completely, and he survived to the end of the war. His passion for the blade had shattered with the end of the war and the deaths of his friend and his lord, and he never forgave Nohr for what they did.
That wasn’t what actually happened, however.
Neither twin chose a side. Hinata was baffled at the notion, and after they’d seemed to vanish, he went to Izumo with Takumi, as both kingdoms were preparing for battle.
They, however, were ambushed by Zola’s forces and captured, and eventually were freed by the twins. After Takumi received a prophecy and a lecture from Izana, Takumi joined the twins, Hinata following. While he still wasn’t fully sure what was going on, he was willing to help Corrin and Corrinne, and that lead to the Bottomless Canyon, where they all jumped in… arriving at an unfamiliar world.
