Full Name: Oboro
Nickname(s): N/A
Age: 18
Height: Fairly tall
Weight: Light for her height.
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Alliance: Heroic
Home: Hoshido
Franchise: Fire Emblem Fates
Physical Description
Oboro has multiple outfits to her name, being skilled at clothing design, but her go-to outfit is an orange-and-white kimono with blue armor pieces.
Weapons and Accessories
Oboro has two weapons with her upon her arrival to the island; the first is a Steel Naginata; a mid-power Hoshidan lance; it is slightly weaker than a Steel Lance, but its design makes it more defensively oriented, giving +1 to Defense and Resistance.
Her second weapon is a Swordcatcher, a specially-designed naginata, specifically for the use against sword-wielders; it is capable of badly damaging those weapons, doing 3x normal damage to foes with that kind of weapon. Because of its specialized design, however, it is nigh-on useless against any other weapon type.
Abilities/Powers
Oboro doesn’t have any sort of special powers; more like specialized skills.
Weaknesses
Oboro, being a lance-based fighter, has a weakness to bows and to axes. She also isn’t the most durable fighter around, though she’s far from the most frail.
Skills
Oboro’s Personal Skill is called Nohr Enmity. Due to her past, she despises Nohr; even despite working with some from that country, her anger still slips in. Due to her anger, she hits harder against Nohrians, doing an additional 3 damage.
Her next skill is Seal Defense. By striking at vulnerable points, Oboro lowers the defense of any enemy that she hits by 6, with the lowered stat recovering slowly over time.
Swap is her next skill, and it’s quite simple. Oboro can quickly switch positions with an ally adjacent to her.
Finally, she has the Profiteer skill, though she doesn’t recall how. If she’s lucky enough (Trigger= Luck%), she can find gold bars when she’s moving in combat for the first seven turns.
Personality
Oboro can be very sweet and almost mother-like to many of her fellow soldiers, yet she can also be fierce and terrifying. She is passionate in many senses of the word, especially in regards to fashion and design.
Owing to her past, she has a tendency to scowl in rage whenever Nohr and Nohrian things are mentioned, though she is at least capable of controlling herself with some Nohrians, as she understands that not all of them are evil.
She can be a bit of a romantic at times, and has an attraction towards her liege, Takumi, though she’s not worked up any sort of courage to talk about it. All this combines into someone with more depth of emotion than one would initially think on first glance.
History
Oboro came from a family of well-known Hoshidan tailors, whose shop had several connections to the royal family. This, unfortunately, proved fatal to them, as their rising connections and influence drew the attention of Nohr, and when they were on a trip to Nohr, they were ambushed by a Nohrian assassin. Oboro survived by hiding in a cart, but her parents were slaughtered; due to this taking place on a moonless night, Oboro spends New Moon nights working tirelessly, as she suffers from nightmares on those nights.
After that happened, she was taken in by relatives who worked for Hoshidan nobility, which gave her the chance to learn the Naginata, and then enlist as a soldier in the Hoshidan army. Some time after that, she was chosen to be one of Takumi’s royal retainers.
Things went as normal for a while, until Takumi’s lost sibling returned to Hoshido. At the Branch of Fate, Corrin chose to fight for Hoshido, and Oboro eventually joined his cause to take down Garon, initially joining in Izumo with Hinata, trying to find Takumi, though she mistook Corrin for a Nohrian at first and nearly attacked him.
At least, in that world.
In a parallel world, Oboro first fought against Corrinne in the Port Town of Dia, alongside Takumi and Hinata, trying to keep her from leaving to Notre Segasse. She was eventually defeated and fell back; she would later die fighting Corrinne at the Great Wall of Suzanoh.
However, that wasn’t quite right…
When the Yato stayed in Hoshido with Corrin, things continued as before, though Oboro crossed weapons with his twin sister Corrinne on several occasions. Still, they persevered, and Garon was defeated, peace restored.
But…
When the Yato left for Nohr with Corrinne, Oboro fought against her, with Corrin alongside her. Much like before, however, Oboro fell at the Great Wall of Suzanoh, having attacked Corrinne in a fit of rage; ultimately, only Hinata was left of the three of them.
Thankfully…
Neither twin took a side. When Nohr and Hoshido began to fight, Oboro was captured in Izumo along with Takumi and Hinata. When the twins liberated them, they were initially to return to Hoshido… until Takumi heard Izana’s fatal prophecy. After that, Takumi joined the twins, with her and Hinata in tow. She fought the mysterious invisible soldiers until it came time to jump into the other world beyond the Bottomless Canyon. ...She had no idea what she’d encounter.
