Full Name: Princess Azura of Valla
Nickname(s): N/A
Age: 19
Height: Somewhat tall
Weight: Fairly light
Gender: Female
Race: Human with dragon ancestry
Alliance: Heroic
Home: Valla
Franchise: Fire Emblem (Fates)
Physical Description
Azura has bright blue and very long hair, golden eyes, and a gentle-looking demeanor. She wears a flowy white dress with azure ornamentation on it; it has a white legging on her right leg but not her left, and leaves some parts of her upper body bare. See the picture for more details.
Weapons and Accessories
Azura’s one weapon is a Blessed Lance. The Lance itself is fairly average in terms of power, and its magic does lower her Defense and Resistance to magic slightly, but its holy nature makes it powerful against monsters, and it heals her a bit regularly throughout battle.
Abilities/Powers
Having the bloodline she does, Azura is capable of utilizing Dragon Veins. In addition, she is capable of singing a magical song that originally was to calm Anankos’ mind and rage. Even without the magic of the song and her pendant, she is capable of using her song to energize allies, allowing them to make multiple movements in rapid succession in the heat of battle.
Weaknesses
While Azura doesn’t have the weakness to dragon-killing weapons, she isn’t the most sturdy. She is strong but can’t take hits very well.
Skills
Azura has several skills for use in combat as well; the first, her Personal Skill, is Healing Descant. When her ‘turn’ starts, Azura’s voice acts as a calmant, rejuvenating nearby (a few arms’ reach in distance) allies for 10% of their health.
Her next skill is Luck +4. Fairly self-explanatory; she has some divine favor that makes her a bit more lucky.
Next is Inspiring Song. When Azura uses her song to energize an ally, they gain 3 Speed, Skill, and Luck until the next ‘turn’. Her magical song empowers those who gain power from it.
Finally, she has Amaterasu. This skill acts as an aura of light around her that, at the start of each ‘turn’, rejuvenates nearby allies for 20% of her health. As this stacks with her personal skill, any allies near Azura get 30% of their health back every turn.
Personality
Azura has a very stoic and distant personality most of the time, the product of years of bullying and discrimination she faced as a princess in Nohr, and distrust from the Hoshidan people after she was taken from Nohr to Hoshido. She can be rather blunt, though underneath that, she has a mischievous side; she loves cute things and telling scary stories.
She can come across as cynical and world-weary, but she has a strong spirit and a desire to make things better, regardless of the cost.
History
(Warning; Fire Emblem Fates spoilers ahead)
Azura was born in the kingdom of Valla, to the former king of the kingdom who was murdered by the dragon Anankos, who had gone mad. She and her mother, Arete, fled from Valla into Nohr; Arete was one of Garon’s many loved ones, though after her death, Azura was kidnapped and taken to Hoshido in retaliation to the kidnapping of one of Sumeragi’s children.
She grew up in Hoshido, keeping to herself mostly for many years, until one day when the taken child was brought back to the kingdom. Azura encountered them by a lake, explaining her origins to them… she was there with Hinoka, Takumi, and Sakura, giving them a tour of the square when Garon’s plan came to fruition with the murder of Mikoto, kickstarting the war.
Corrin, armed with the Yato, chose to fight for Hoshido. In the forest of Mokushu, Azura fought on the battlefield, breaking a mysterious energy that had overtaken Takumi, making him violent. Not long after, she took the place of a singer in Cyrkensia’s Opera House. The group was betrayed by a Nohrian mage who had been helping them, and they barely fled with their lives from an enraged Xander; Azura collapsed shortly afterward, having been using her magic song during the performance to affect Garon.
In Fort Dragonfall, after Iago reanimated the dragon that the fort was made from, Azura used her song again to weaken the magic enough so they could escape. When the time came to fight Garon, Azura used her song willingly to weaken his power… and despite Corrin’s swift kill of the man-turned-dragon, Azura collapsed afterward, dissolving into water in front of everyone.
Meanwhile, concurrently to the above…
Corrinne had gone to Nohr with the Yato. Azura followed not long after, reuniting with them in Fort Dragonfall, after being rescued. In Cyrkensia, Azura disguised herself with a facial veil and a dark purple dress, singing a more powerful version of her magic song, attempting to use a purification ritual on Garon. Causing him intense discomfort, that lead to a battle as they believed that Hoshido had done something to him there… not long after, Corrinne followed Azura through the Bottomless Canyon, rescuing Gunter, who had arrived there a while back.
After they escaped, Azura explained everything; that she was the songstress in Cyrkensia (Corrinne hadn’t seen her leave her seat and nobody knew it was her), and explained a bit about what had happened with Garon, that he was no more and a monster had taken his place.
Azura fought alongside the Nohrian army to conquer Hoshido, so Garon could sit on the white throne there and reveal his true form; after he was defeated, and the possessed corpse of Takumi began to fight them, she used her song in secret to weaken him… and afterwards, she vanished without a word. Corrinne saw her once more at a lake, before Azura, after asking her to close her eyes, disappeared completely.
However…
When the twins split paths, Corrin taking the Yato to Hoshido, Azura went with. Things continued as before in many ways, even down to her vanishing after the fight with Garon. Corrin never forgot about her.
Then again…
When the twins’ paths split and Corrinne took the Yato to Nohr, Azura followed. The two grew quite close during the battling, and were wed in a small ceremony; the only ones who knew were Corrinne’s sisters Camilla and Elise, her friends Kaze and Silas, and her servants Jakob and Felicia. As before, Azura sang her song against Takumi, and again, she disappeared afterwards, though this time, she had one more talk with Corrinne before vanishing completely.
Thankfully…
To Azura’s relief, the twins refused to choose a side. Azura took them to the Bottomless Canyon, searching for a safe place, then went into Valla. There, she truly explained everything; the truth of the kingdom, her lineage, and what was really going on.
The group made their way across the countries, trying to get allies; with some difficulty, they finally managed to do so, and Azura lead the group to the Bottomless Canyon. Everything had gone fairly closely according to plan… though even Azura could not have predicted the portal that lead the group to somewhere very different from her home kingdom.
