He nods, then gestures towards a seat near the back. "I think it may be best if we get one of these. Easier to not only see everything, but get to the door quicker, if you need to."
The girl frowns at this, an eyebrow raised. "Who would need to run out like that? Wouldn't most sensible people use the restroom before the movie starts?"
"Keep in mind, this is a double feature," he responds.
"...fair point."

Disquietude had just been about to ask what this "restroom" was and why people would need to go there in the middle of the movie, but he wisely decided to drop it and leave it alone, opting to follow Adrien and Sky down the row with a simple "Sounds good."
He settled into the seat next to Adrien, making himself as comfortable as he could before taking a quick peak underneath his chair. Pitch black. He might need that...
He then sat up straight and cast Adrien an excited grin, hoping for the best.

He smiles back, then offers him some of the soda.
Sky takes the seat on the opposite side, looking up excitedly at the screen. "Wow, the last film I saw was... some cheesy action flick?" She looks to the others, beaming brightly. "I'm sure this will be a lot better!"

"Y-Yeah, me too," Disquietude murmured optimistically, gratefully accepting the cup Adrien was handing him. He experimentally swished it around for a moment, then cautiously stuck his mouth on the straw and sucked.
Oh! Oh, gee... No. No, he didn't like that at all. Why was this liquid making his mouth feel tingly? Why were the bubbles hurting his tongue? Did all liquid nourishment do that?? How could humans stand it??
Not wanting to get the wrong message across, Disquietude forced a nervous, exaggerated grin and handed the soda back to Adrien. "Thank you..."
Soon enough, the already dim lights went out almost entirely. The screen was dark for a moment, then was illuminated by the golden glow of a roaring lion.

"...if you didn't like it, you could tell me, you know." Adrien shrugs and puts the cup into the holder on the armrest. "Soda isn't for everyone, I guess."
They both hear a crunch as Sky takes the first bite of her carrot, then offers some to Disquietude.

"Eheh... Just sort of felt weird in my mouth..." Disquietude whispered. He twitched slightly and looked over at Sky, then at the orange stalky thing she was offering him. It looked like there was only enough there for one person, and he wasn't sure he wanted to try again, so he smiled slightly, raised a hand and awkwardly mumbled, "Um... No thanks."
Disquietude then settled back into his seat and turned his attention to the screen...
He saw a dark world. Cold, dusty, desolate. A city in utter ruin. Strange machines were roaming around, firing at something, rolling over a multitude of... odd... head-looking things littered across the ground. Disquietude was silent, watching with detached curiosity.
He saw a human running from the gunfire. On-screen text revealed that in this world's future, machines rose up and exterminated mankind...
Disquietude wasn't sure how to feel about this. An entire race wiped out? Gone forever? How was that possible? Couldn't humans regenerate?

While Adrien was pulled into the ambiance of the movie rather easily, a bit of squirming on his other side told him that Sky wasn't quite as easily accepting of the idea of such a future.

Soon enough, after the opening credits, the movie jumped to a still-standing city in 1984, where, in a flash of lightning, a man appeared. A man lacking the colorful outer garments that humans adorned themselves with. Was that really what humans looked like without them? Weird. And kind of gross, maybe...
Well, at least he remedied his nudity by... ransacking some odd-looking humans... and in the process, hurting one badly enough that he produced some sort of red fluid. Human bio-matter, perhaps? Like what shadows were to Disquietude? It made him wonder how humans replenished their physical material. Was it just food or was there more to it that he wasn't getting?
Ugh... more anatomy questions. This wasn't what he came here for...
Not long after, another naked man appeared in a lightning flash, this one slightly clumsier and more nervous than the first one. After acquiring some pants from a dirty-looking fellow, this new character was then chased by some humans in identical uniforms, evading them with some more clothes and a human propulsion weapon.
Then it was daytime and there was a human woman riding on a two-wheeled vehicle to some sort of food store and... Okay, what was going on? Disquietude wasn't following any of this.

Sky rubs her head, completely confused, but since Adrien hasn't said anything, she doesn't, either. She does quickly avert her eyes when the guys without clothes show up, and winces when the person was hurt.

Disquietude leaned an elbow against the arm of his chair and rested his cheek against his fist, focusing on piecing together what was happing so far. The bigger guy from the future was buying weapons, then he was looking up women named Sarah Connor, then he was going to one such woman's house and... oh geez!
Okay! So... apparently the main female character was also named Sarah Connor, a fact that allowed Disquietude to deduce that the big guy was after her. To do what, though? What did propulsion weapons do to humans? And what did they mean when they said that the other Sarah Connor was "dead"?
And then there was the other guy from the future. Was he looking for Sarah too? Seemed like it, seeing as how he was soon following her down a street, prompting her to hide in some sort of loud, colorful establishment. Meanwhile, the big, scary guy was going to Sarah and her friend's home to... oh no, was she "dead" too now? And now he knew where to find Sarah too thanks to the message she left through their communication device.
Boy, this was intense. The amount of attention this movie demanded was draining what little Disquietude had to spare. He wished he could just feed off the plentiful darkness surrounding him, but his human shell wouldn't allow it.

That's when he feels a hand squeezing his, the owner squirming in discomfort as more and more people are slain on the screen. It seems to be all she can do just to continue watching the screen and not lean on him for comfort.
At the same time, Adrien pats him on the hand, looking to him with a reassuring smile, even though he looks a little downcast.

"..........................."
Disquietude blankly stared at Sky's hand tightly holding his, finding the contact genuinely uncomfortable. He couldn't simply slip out in his current form, so his only option was to gently yank, hoping her grip would loosen or she would at least get the hint. When this did nothing, he did his best to relax his arm and resign himself to his fate, not wanting to be rude.
He then looked up at Adrien, offering him a small but chipper smile in return. Strange as this movie was so far, he was starting to enjoy it.
Ooh, finally, some exposition! Following a shootout at the club between the two men from the future, the smaller one escaped with Sarah and explained to her that the larger man was some sort of machine disguised as a human. This "Terminator" was sent back to kill Sarah because in the future, intelligent machines would wipe out most of mankind and take over the world, but her... son would unite the survivors and defeat them; Reese was sent back to protect her.
Well, that was all really cool, but... Sarah's son? Like... what Disquietude was to Desire? Was that how it worked for humans?
Whoops, Terminator found them. More shooting, more car chases, more action, until finally Sarah and Reese were apprehended by some other humans and the Terminator apparently disappeared. At least these new humans seemed to want to help Sarah. Poor girl was in shambles.

The girl frowns a bit, lifting a hand - the same one that was holding Disquietude's hand - to her chin as she thinks out loud. "That looks a bit like the jails in my world..."
"It's sad, isn't it?" Adrien speaks up. "So many people caught in the crossfire. So many people who'll never return to their families." He sighs, resting his head on a hand, the one not on Disquietude's. "But I guess that's life." He's cut off as a couple in front of them glares at him, and he smiles sheepishly in return, quieting himself.

Never... return to their families? Why not? Was dying really so bad that humans couldn't come back from it? They just... ceased to be altogether?
Disquietude looked over at Adrien, confused and concerned. Was dying only possible if humans were wounded badly enough or was it an inevitability? He knew that humans naturally physically changed, their bodies affected by time in a way that Præt'nos' weren't. So did that mean their bodies could eventually stop functioning? How was that possible? Weren't humans just souls infused with light, like Præt'nos were with darkness? Weren't souls eternal?
All these questions running through his mind made Disquietude miss the scene where the Terminator repaired himself through some... half impressive, half uncanny special effects, as well as the scene in which the police interrogated Reese. All that really occurred to him was that the other humans didn't seem to believe the story Reese was telling them.
Uh-oh. The Terminator tracked them down. Now he was driving a vehicle into the building where they were being kept and shooting at everyone. At least Sarah and Reese managed to escape in another vehicle. At least until it stopped working and the two were forced to hide out in the middle of nowhere.

Having seen his confusion and concern, the girl leans over to whisper to him, having not been scolded and not caring about what they might think. "You can ask him whatever it is you're thinking about when the credits roll, okay? You should be able to get an answer, then."
