"Here's the place..." Corrinne said, tucking away the map the blonde man had given them. The brick wall was indeed there, just as he said. "He said to tap the third brick from the bottom four times, correct?"
"I believe so. Hang on, Lady Corrinne, let me do so." Felicia poked said brick with her heel four times. The wall vanished, revealing... a hole in the ground. "We don't seriously have to go down that, do we? I can smell it from here..."
"Unfortunately, it looks like that's the case. Says we need to walk down some ways to find a portal that should spit us out..." Corrinne replied, although the thought clearly made her want to gag. "... Ready?"
"Ready as I'll ever be, Lady Corrinne." Felicia had drawn the Flame Shuriken, just in case.
"I'll see what I can do." Kaze had been the one straddled with the torch.
"... Here we go."

Corrin winced as the smell hit his nose, gagging just a bit. "Urgh... let's just try and get through here quickly..."
Azura seemed to not lose her serene expression despite the situation, the Songstress following behind Corrinne. "We can do this. Kaze, we'll be relying on you to keep us alert of possible danger."
"Indeed." Jakob nodded, going down behind the others. "Watch our backs, Silas."
"On it. This whole place is giving me the creeps..."

"We're all in? Good. Anybody throw up yet? No? Good." Corrinne was looking at the map. "Says we need to go this way," She indicated a direction. "Until we reach the four-way crossroad... Then it says go to the right. After that... it should be close by..."
Not too long after they had started moving, the light from above had ceased showing, forcing Kaze to light the torch. "I can keep my eyes and ears open for danger, but I'm afraid I can't fight as effectively with this torch... I'd have to pass it off..."
The light provided by Felicia's weapon didn't provide much beyond just confirming her continued presence. "I-I could take it if needed... Or we could pass it around as needed..."

Azura nodded. "If need be, I'll take it. Even if I can't fight effectively, I could still sing for you all."
"That sounds like a solid plan, Azura," Corrin said, suppressing a shiver. "...Gods, this place is eerie. Stick close, everyone..."
It didn't take too long for the group to arrive at the aforementioned crossroads. "Alright... now... you said right, correct?"

"Says so on the map. Let's go, we don't know how much time we have left..." Corrinne said with a nod, everyone's pace picking up.
"It feels like we've been down here forever... Well, I can't smell anything anymore, what about you guys?" Felicia said, trying to stay within the light of the torch.
"... I smell rancid water," Kaze said, feeling for a shuriken. "Lady Azura, if you may for one moment."
"Um, Kaze, you and Silas are still wet, so that's probably the water smell... Not sure where the rancid part came from, but maybe that magic cast against you had weird effects-?" Corrinne's note was cut off when Kaze, having passed the torch to Azura, tossed a shuriken into the darkness...
A distorted scream was heard, and if one listened closely, a dissolving sound could be heard.
"... They're in the sewers. Everyone needs to stay on high alert."

Corrin drew Yato quickly. "It's never easy, is it?"
Azura sighed, holding the torch. "It seems not. Shall we form up?"
"Yeah."
As the group took defensive positions, an odd calm still came over the area. Corrin wasn't fond of the feeling. "...Nothing yet? Odd..."

"... False alarm, perhaps? They were disorganized when we first got here, after all... heh heh?" Corrinne added nervously. Something was off, even as they approached the end of the stretch.
Two signs were presented in front of them.
<- [Pit of 100 Trials] [West Nexus] ->
"... I thought it'd be on the left, but apparently we need to take another right." And so they did, stumbling across a more open room...
A portal was in the dead centre of the room. On the wall behind it was a sign...
"Warning: One-way portal," Kaze read.
"Fine by me. We can find another way back."
Corrinne paused, before jumping into the portal. Felicia gulped, before shutting her eyes and jumping with a yelp. Kaze paused... And followed the two women.

Silas followed behind Kaze, and Corrin turned to Jakob and Azura. "Well then... let's go." The Cavalier followed, and the rest after him.
What they encountered... was not quite what they were expecting. Corrin was the first to speak. "...Huh? Wait..."
This seemed... very odd. Even though he wasn't sure what exactly they'd run into, this seemed quite dank... like where they were just before.

"... Okay, something's not right. This looks almost exactly like the room we were just in..." Corrinne said, narrowing her eyes.
There was a burst of purple, semitransparent fog... "Careful! I think it's more of those invisible soldiers!"
[Pit of 100 Trials: Floor 1]
When the smoke cleared, a lone figure stood in the centre of the room. Kaze and Felicia gripped their shuriken tightly, ready to throw...
... Only for the figure to form into a harmless Shrine Maiden. Corrinne's arm holding her Yato actually fell. "... Well, that was anticlimatic."

Corrin cursed under his breath. "I think we've walked into a trap..."
Then the 'trap' appeared.
"...Or maybe not?" A swing of Yato and the Shrine Maiden fell. "...We ought to keep going."
[Pit of 100 Trails: Floor 2]
On the next floor down, the group was greeted this time by not one, but two Shrine Maidens.
Corrin was tempted to smack his forehead. "...This hardly seems threatening."

Corrinne actually laughed. "Hahaha... I guess they really are disorganized?" Two swings of Yato dispatched the Shrine Maidens and opened the doors to the next floor.
Once again, the purple mist appeared and formed into figures... "Who'd like the honor of the kill this time?"
While two figures did form into Shrine Maidens, a third instead took the shape of a Fighter, a shaky grip on its Bronze Axe.
[Pit of 100 Trials: Floor 3]
"Well... at least this one can actually attack us?"
Felicia was actually able to hold the axe-wielder back with her hand. Kaze sighed. "It obviously can't be too much of a threat."
"I agree with Kaze." Felicia dodged the slow swing with ease. "I mean, I know I'm not exactly strong, and look!"

Corrin sighed softly as Silas cut down the Fighter. "This is almost sad. I thought Anankos was more dangerous than this..." He frowned, putting a hand to his chin. "I swear, this shortcut better be worth it... we can't waste time."
[Pit of 100 Trials: Floor 4]
Two Shrine Maidens, a Fighter, and a Samurai stood before the group.
Jakob put a hand to his chin in thought. "It seems as if their forces are steadily increasing..."

"I think Jakob's right," Felicia said, preparing to toss her Flame Shuriken. "I really hope we don't run into a group of more than six in this narrow space..."
As the Fighter and Samurai charged with their Iron weapon, they were met with a pair of shuriken to the face, the Fighter getting a steel one, and the Samurai getting hit by the flaming one. "It looks like they're a bit stronger than the first three sets."
A swing from Yato was not enough to even dispatch the Samurai, although it appeared to be severely weakened from the blow. A second steel shuriken finished the job. "We need to get through this as quick as we can. Some shortcut this is..." Corrinne mumbled.
A Flame Shuriken disposed of the Fighter, leaving just the Shrine Maidens. The combined strength of Felicia and Kaze's attacks put down one, while Corrinne's slash was enough to destroy the second. "Hurry."
The next floor had already materialized its enemies... Two Shrine Maidens, a Fighter, a Samurai, and a Spear Fighter.
[Pit of 100 Trials: Floor 5]
"I don't like this place."

"Neither do I."
The enemies were dispatched with a bit of difficulty (and a lucky critical strike on the fighter by Corrin), and the group went down...
A single Shrine Maiden, a Fighter, a Samurai, and an Archer stood in their way, the archer in a position on some rubble.
Corrin just groaned. "Urgh... this bodes poorly..."
[Pit of 100 Trials: Floor 6]
"So what's the plan?"

"The same thing we've done for the last few floors," Corrinne said, taking a step back. "Get rid of them, get to the next floor, hope we find the portal to the west before it's too late."
She jumped, impaling the Shrine Maiden on an arm-turned-lance, before kicking away, back to where she started. "At least that's the healer do- argh!"
While she had been distracted, the Archer took advantage of that to fire an arrow, embedding itself into the Manakete's shoulder.
[Corrinne HP: 29 -> 18]
A toss of Felicia's Flame Shuriken merely resulted in it embedding itself into the rubble. "Lady Corrinne! Are you okay?"
"Not really... They're stepping up their game at least... At least this isn't poisonous..."
