Full Name: Reina
Nickname(s): ‘Yuugiri’ (Her ‘traditional’ Hoshidan name)
Age: 32
Height: Average for her age.
Weight: Average
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Alliance: Good
Home: Hoshido
Franchise: Fire Emblem (Fates)
Physical Description
Reina is a woman of slightly pale pallor with sky blue hair and an outfit somewhat inspired by the Kinshi she rides. Her armor is rather ornate, so it is best to look at her image for reference. One notable feature is an ‘x’ shaped scar across her face, just above her nose.
Weapons and Accessories
Reina only has one weapon with her upon arrival to the island, an Iron Naginata; a balanced lance-like weapon that is more useful in defense than the Nohrian lance counterpart.
Abilities/Powers
Reina possesses no special powers; anything she has is more of a skill.
Weaknesses
Being an airborne unit, Reina has a weakness to both bow attacks and to wind magic while she’s riding her Kinshi, Syrene.
Skills
Reina has several skills that factor into the fights she finds herself in.
Her Personal Skill, Morbid Celebration is a manifestation of the persona she brings into battle, delighting in the death of her foes. If she initiates a fight and kills her enemy, she recovers 20% of her maximum vitality; the adrenaline rush gives her the strength to keep fighting.
Darting Blow, her next skill, gives her a boost of 5 speed if she initiates a fight. Controlling the flow of the battle and surprising her opponent lets her move more quickly as she fights.
Camaraderie, by having at least one ally within two arms’ lengths near Reina at the start of the ‘turn’, restores 10% of her health; the reassurance of nearby allies eases her mind, revitalizing her.
Finally, while she doesn’t remember learning this skill (not that she’s complaining, really), her final skill is Lethality. At a Skill/4% rate, she can target a vital point on her next attack, instantly killing her foe if it connects.
Reina has the ability to cook, but she is not good at it at all; results are usually Noxious.
Personality
Reina has two distinctive sides to her personality. On the battlefield, she is cold, and brutal, relishing in the deaths of those she calls her enemies, but off it, she is a nurturing and caring figure, almost motherly. In many ways, it’s a case of her wearing the callous mask on the battlefield so that others don’t have to, offering them support and comfort from the chaos of war.
History
Reina, long before the current conflict between Hoshido and Nohr, was a retainer to Queen Mikoto alongside Orochi. As a child, she was raised to be a proper lady, though that conflicted with her rising interest in the training of the soldiers of Hoshido; ultimately, she went against her parents’ wishes for her to become a domestic wife and joined the guard, molding herself into an ideal knight.
After her promotion from Mikoto, she happily served the queen for many years, until Mikoto’s untimely death. Following that, she threw herself headlong into the war, eventually joining Corrin’s forces at the behest of Yukimura, fighting off a group of invisible soldiers attacking them at sea. She fought in Corrin’s army, ultimately seeing Garon defeated and peace restored.
That wasn’t everything, however.
Reina, after Nohr began its warpath of conquest, assisted Takumi, Orochi, and Scarlet in starting a rebellion in Cheve. Corrinne’s forces defeated them, however, and alongside most of her allies, she was executed by Hans.
That wasn’t quite right either, though…
When the twins went their separate ways, Reina followed Yato’s wielder, joining with Corrin and helping his campaign through Nohr. Following Corrinne’s death, however, even she could not find any enjoyment from it. While she returned and became head of the Kinshi Knights of Hoshido, she held a heavy heart for the rest of her life; her war-crazy mask had finally shattered.
Still not right… still…
Even with Corrin’s aid with the rebellion in Cheve, not much changed. Corrinne’s forces still quashed the rebellion, and Reina was still executed alongside her allies.
This is what actually happened, however.
When the twins were called turncoats to both countries and war broke out, Reina had stayed with Hoshido’s main forces, at least until Kagero was captured by the ninja of Mokushu; joining with Saizo and Orochi, she prepared to fight, at least until she ran into the twins’ army, who had come to find Saizo and give aid.
Upon defeating the Mokushujin, Saizo chose to believe in the twins and joined forces with them, and Reina did so as well alongside Orochi. She fought with the army up to a point where they were to jump into the Bottomless Canyon, where she followed, arriving in an unfamiliar land.
