Full Name: Farah ‘Rosa’ Teague
Nickname(s): Fare
Age: 28
Height: 3 foot even
Weight: 80 lbs
Gender: Female
Race: Hooski
Alliance: Lawful Good
Home: Rogueport
Franchise: ‘Super Mario Bros’ OC (While Fare’s species comes from Mario and Luigi; Super Star Saga for the Hoohooligans, and Mario and Luigi; Dream Team for the Hooskis, Fare’s backstory is firmly planted in context with ‘Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door’ with some passing mentions of Superstar Saga here and there.)
Physical Description
Being a Hooski, Fare is a tiny little thing when compared to most humans. However she can be best identified by her tan brown skin and her rusty red hair that she keeps pulled back into a pony tail, two clothing sets she often keeps on hand for the following occasion. The first set is a Police Uniform that is made up of a simple light blue jacket with a blue cap, a prominent black belt and a pair of dark blue pants making up the bottom. Fare often wears this when she’s on patrol as a cop in Rogueport. However she often states the jacket is not her style and, when out in casual, she wears a black leather biker jacket, a red shirt underneath it and scuffed up looking jean style bottoms to match. As an added feature to this lovely beanish punk, she also wears an ornate ring around her arm right about where her wrist would be if she had actual hands.
Weapons and Accessories
Arguably, Fare does not actually NEED a weapon as she’s a fist-fighting street brawler capable of keeping up with opponents even triple her size with nothing but her natural agility and her bare knuckles. However, that’s not to say Fare doesn’t use a weapon if it’s necessary. As a Police woman, she carries around a police baton that is quite obviously NOT made of wood or any normal metal to bat away attackers, a pepper spray bottle and even a taser just to complete the image of overkill she often goes for.
Abilities/Powers
However, it’s worth noting, again, that Fare barely needs her weapons to help her in a straight on fight. Her fists have been known to hit as hard as hammers and she’s proven capable of intense bouts of agility that almost match that of a rocket flower.
This is because, at some point in her backstory, she was trained by Big and Lil’ Massif, the premier mountaineers of the Hooski race that now live on Pi’illo island and take in new students regularly to learn their means of combat and agility. From the Massifs, she learned martial prowess outside of simple street brawling and how to apply her natural strength to style and form. This allows her to punch even metal objects into targets turning them into projectiles, jet herself forward fists flailing at impressive speeds, and to top it all off, she has extensive knowledge in the Massif’s mountain climbing techniques, making her proficient in imitating them provided she explains what EXACTLY to do to her impromptu partner. As these skills are similar to some grappling techniques Fare has some knowledge in Judo and knows her way around powerful throws.
However, the Massif’s have another trick up their sleeve that they taught to Fare, instructing her only to use it in case of emergencies. Drawing inspiration from the ‘Super Bowser Bros’ Mini-games of Thousand Year Door fame, the Massifs are capable of doubling their size and combat prowess whenever they eat, of course, beef. Unlike the Massifs however, Fare draws her own power boost when she takes a drink of Chuckola Cola. She has noted that this makes this power boost somewhat unhealthy prompting her to use this power boost sparingly.
As a Hooski, a creature descended from the Hoohooligans of yore, Fare also discovered access to a mysterious magic that her ancestors had access to known only as ‘Stage Presence’. With this, Fare can make herself the center of attention in any given setting, either to make herself a distraction to enemies, or, in some cases, to start fights with certain foes that she knows she can beat, drawing attention away from others. In the past, ‘Stage Presence’ was used by the ancient Hoohooligans to tell their legendary jokes to the people of the world (as the Hoohooligans were the ancient inventors of jokes in the Mario World on top of their amazing magical technology, which is apparent with Hoohooros), however Fare often uses Stage Presence to send scathing insults at her enemies, sometimes scaring off enemies and other times sending them in a berserk rage aimed her way.
Weaknesses
Fare fully fits into the category of Glass cannon, being powerful and capable, but frail when compared to other more capable combatants. As another note, her awakening to the power of Stage Presence was a fairly RECENT event so sometimes the power…. Tends to work a little too well, often drawing attention both to intended targets and UNINTENDED targets, thus starting fights bigger then Fare ever meant to start.
Skills
On top of being a top-notch street fighter and martial artist, Fare is a passably competent investigator, good at locating clues in the scene of a crime, as well as noticing odd-ball bits of information both in testimonies and in reports. This means she’s a good fit as either a mafia inquisitor or as an investigator working in the police.
Along with that, she’s also a competent construction worker capable of crafting basic set-ups and amenities so long as she has the basic blueprints and a team working with her. As a hard working young woman, her jobs have included, working with cement, handling wooden beams (steel beams when she takes her bigger form) as construction worker, answering phones as a secretary, boxing and wrestling during a brief stint in the Glitz-Pit among other things.
Personality
If I had to think up a word to describe Fare, it would likely be…. Sassy. As an immigrant from the Beanbean Kingdom, she and her family have long since traded in a love of jokes in favor of a sarcastic and cynical approach at their current worldview, which Fare demonstrates on normal occasion to anyone that could be listening nearby. (A proposed gameplay aspect for this is that she serves a similar role to the normal Goomba Party Members and offers both insight on an area or people, as well as her own… UNIQUE perspective.)
However, that’s not to say Fare is ENTIRELY cynical all the time. After her adventures in Rogueport she met a young Clubba named John traveling with the famed superstar Mario and the two really hit it off, eventually even getting married over the following years. John is among the very few characters who is allowed to see a far more tender side of the normally morose Fare and this makes John one of the people that Fare protects most fervently as she see’s him as one of the few good things that’s occurred in her entirely fucked up life. With that being said, it’s entirely fair to say that Fare’s character at that point is based on Fullmetal Alchemist’s ‘Izumi Curtis’, the most terrifying House Wife seen in media.
History
Fare’s life has actually been a fairly tumultuous one with a number of events that lead to the present day and it’s current setting. Born in the Sand Kingdom to a family of Hooski’s, she grew up more around Caldera’s (Sand Kingdom Natives) then other Hooski’s, even making friends with a number of them, including her best friend amongst them Estrella, a talented musical performer with powerful pre-existing capability with the magic of stage presence. It was an easy life at first, with Fare even going so far as to join Estrella in her musical talents and the two becoming talented singers…
One day however, Fare’s family, out to seek their fortunes in new lands, took their daughter and moved out to the Beanbean Kingdom where they would reconnect with their roots as descendants of the ancient Hoohooligans, a mysterious people that supposedly first invented jokes and were capable of powerful magi-technology (With one of their feats supposedly being the assistance in helping the ancient Caldera’s construct the Inverted Pyramid and crafting magic that would allow it to float). It was here that Fare learned that her parents were seasoned archeologists whom had been looking into the mystery of their people’s for quite some time, dragging their children along to new lands on their expeditions.
While Fare was excited to go on adventures with her family however, her older brother Tulio was less then enthused.
Tulio had dreams of striking it big in the big city, earning his own fortune separate from his parents legacy and urged his sister to come with him on this journey. After all, in his eyes, their parents had never really given up looking for clues about their ancestors even after having a family to look after in the present. Fare accepted this proposal after months of feeling alienated from her folks and the two chanced a journey on the sea to the city of Rogueport…
However, the two were conned as it turns out, as the beanish ferry man was interested in Mushroom Kingdom Currency as opposed to Bean Bean Currency, forcing Fare and Tulio to find work as soon as humanly possible to pay him back for his services. After a brief stint in construction and fighting for her next meal, Fare was scouted by Don Pianta whom stated to ‘like her gumption’, hiring her on as an enforcer. Eventually, Fare was able to work up enough favors with the Don to justify asking for a ticket to Glitzville, which she gave to her brother Tulio, whom was elated at having a shot at his dream. The two would keep in contact via Mailbox SP’s for many months while they both earned money to pay off the ferryman and fund their own wellbeing… Until one day Tulio, named Glitz-Pit as the Rocketing Hooligan, mysteriously stopped calling.
So when Mario came by the office looking for tickets to the Glitzpit, eventually gaining them from the Don, she was just as eager to accompany him to Glitzville and look into the matter herself.
Many events came and gone after that, with Fare briefly joining Mario after the events of Macho Grubba and accompanying him on his quest to find the Crystal Stars and save the world from the evils of the Shadow Queen. During this time, she was introduced to a young Clubba named John (whom had joined Mario on a previous adventure) and, while she found John’s attempted flirting more adorable then actually successful, she eventually fell for his goofy charm and the two were married. They would run into Mario again during the events of Mario and Luigi Dream Team and pitch in now and again on their adventure. During this time, Fare reveals that after the near destruction of the Shadow Queen a lot of things had went down in Rogueport prompting at least a number of the rogues to clean up their act, turning a crime riddled port into something at least MARGINALLY better. The Pianta Syndicate was restructured as a…. SORT OF Police force that looks over the portside town and ensures no serious crime such as murder and kidnapping occur. Tulio has also remained a staple competitor at the Glitz-Pit and even serves as one of the top four fighters between himself, Rawk Hawk, Rex (The baby Yoshi) and Prince Mush.
Other
Little is known about the reason why Fare and John arrive on Dimensional Island…. Gain Fare’s trust enough however and one would learn that Fare had recently discovered that her parents had gone missing and she had left her home to travel to the last place they had been seen together before vanishing… At the dig, Fare and John come across a mysterious warp-pipe, leading to parts unknown. Despite Fare’s best efforts to talk John out of going, the Clubba insisted on finding the Hooski’s parents and hops in, causing a groaning and growling Fare to hop in after him.
At present, she is all alone on Dimensional Island and now fervently searches it to find her missing husband.
